With an rx 20 on residential what is the optimal pressure, ive been testing with 275-300 with residential but i wonder if I can get away with lower to help with dry times, love to hear your thoughts.
Yup, they're steam cleaning but with an RX20 (rotary), which is better than a wand most of the time. I suppose they ran into a problem with a conflicting name once they decided to rotary steam clean but this is not dry cleaning at all.
This operator is whipping the machine around way too quickly and that is not the way to get the most out of an RX20. Cutting the water pressure down to 150 doesn't get the most out of it, either although I know that they are trying to wet the carpet as little as possible while doing hot water rotary extraction.
That's a fair question. We don't use steam. We use a water based, heavily carbonated, natural cleaner that used zero soapy petroleum based products. We use about 1 gallon for 200 sq ft so we aren't saturating with heavy volumes of water. Dry time is 1 hr or less leaving zero dirt attracting residues and zero wet carpet pads so you can get right back on it. Chem-dry is
1. low moisture
2. All natural
3. dry in 1-2 hours
since 1978 that has been our system. it's evolved but 1-3 are the same.
Very good. When we got to this job It was doing such a nice job I did a very low tech filming job but it's the real thing and we feel people want to see the real thing vs the over produced run of the mill stuff. We have some better clips on the way. Stay tuned. We will like to see yours. I hope you the best.
No. At one time I worked for the Chruch in a janitorial capacity and did carpet cleaning. I really enjoyed many aspects of carpet cleaning. I almost would like to have my own cleaning truck more as a toy than necessarily some business investment. I don't think I would make a career out of it, but I like doing it occasionally. It's satisfying, to me, to extract dirt from carpets.
It sure can make you some good extra cash that's for sure. If one runs this as a business it's fun but when your a tech / boss it turns into being a slave to your business.
One of my best friends owns his own business. He always insists, whenever anyone asks his title, and in all seriousness, that they put down "Chief Slave"
Hey man, if you like cleaning carpet get a part time cleaning tech job. Most companies always need a part time "fill in" for weekends and nights. The company I work for has a pool of techs just for big commercial jobs and to fill in when needed.

It's a chem dry cover over an RX-20 that is also used by many professional carpet cleaners licensed by the IICRC.
