So cool to have saved that section of the wall! Too bad you couldn't get Yogi Berra to come back and stand where he watched Maz's drive disappear over the wall.
I was born the same year forbes field closed. I really miss three rivers. The house that Stargell built. HOPE SOMEDAY the Pirates will contend again. MLB will never be the same without the Reds and the Pirates.
by all means do it. But Get Up front. The 50th Anniversery Is Coming Up In 2010. I guess My girlfriend was Bored and wanted to walk around. so that rubbed of on me but if you want to do go for it. I think it would be cool to take a Ghost Hunter there during the Night and see what they Pick up. Babe Ruth Hit his Last Home run there and Clemente Might still Be Patroling Out there! But go for a Major date like the 50th,Thats when they go all out! Theres even the ticket window! Recreated
when do they do the anniversary for the homerun? i think the should of down something for three rivers as they did forbes field. pnc park isnt the same as three rivers. i am not old enough to say if it would better then forbes but i am sure it would be to. pnc park doesnt say anything for the pirates and why is the pirate not a captain anymore? where is the RRRRRRR i remember from three rivers?
Pitt owned the land where Forbes Field stood. There wasn't anything wrong with Forbes Field. I will never forgive Pitt for doing this. We never preserve anything in this country.
I recall Miss Helen Wienke, my 5th G teacher, set a radio on her desk so th class could listen to th WS game that fine sunny day. !ayne, NJ, a little cow town back then, is only twenty-five miles due west of Yankee Stadium, so ye can guess who we were rooting for - MICKEY MANTLE & CO! But when Maz hit that Homer... DANG! Yrs later I heard THE MICK cried all th way home. I know I did! Bucs were a better team that day. That Forbes Field was a beautiful place to watch Baseball though.
Great that someone brought their pooch to piss on sacred ground. Have some respect an remarkable accomplishment.

Unless the economics of baseball change, another WS for Pittsburgh is highly unlikely.

Hey Yankee Fans, remember that homerun. The Bill Mazorouski Homerun which "The Pittsburgh
Pirates" kick you in the chin in the 1960 World Series. YOU FORGOTTEN ABOUT IT. SOMEBODY HAS A SHORT MEMORY.
