To late update folks winnipeg has team Now the atlanta Thrashers a team which had no owners since for 11 years atlanta sprit group (wish they drop dead) and don-teflon-waddell his 11year plan go boldly so we start losin fans n Gary Bettman would run Tail n let it happn he save the Phoenix team now....shows his support for atlanta.......of course are city officals n mayor had head in tioilet n said who cares.Now when start of season in 2011n12 starts no NHL here

You are right there isn't a need for two teams in Florida. You are confused though, the shitty Panthers are the team that needs to move. Lower attendance figure, haven't made the dam playoffs since the beginning of this decade for crying out loud. No Stanley Cup. The Panthers are a failure and should move to Hartford or Winnipeg or Quebec.

They didn't call him "BIG ED" for nuthin'!!! (oh, and that was a LEGAL check, but in the Bettman Era, he would have likely gotten suspended for 'bumping a fella' or 'getting ice shavings on another teams uniform' )- The Hartford City Council was massively to blame for the money lost by Richard Gordon, selling of the Whalers to Peter Karamanos, and with Rowland and Wiecker pushing the blade to the hilt, the Whaler's ship :() was sunk....

Iam a Ex-Nordiques fans. I want the NHL go back in Winipeg & Harford. I meet a guys from this city and he mist he's Whalers. Was a good duel.

I like the Panthers. Fuck Tampa Bay though... No need for two teams in Florida.
Move Tampa to Hartford. Move Atlanta to Quebec City. Move Nashville to Winnipeg.

We'd GLADLY take the Lightning.
Stamkos, Hedman (probably) and get a goalie and it'd be Sellout City every night of the season in Hartford for a loooong time to come.

Whalers and Nordiques - loved them both! Now we are stuck with Carolina and Colorado instead.

and we're stuck with Phoenix and Dallas too. Oh yeah, we've got Columbus, Tampa and Nashville as well. The NHL is such a joke now.

Agreed. Phoenix has had lackluster support througout and the TV ratings in the Dallas area (if I recall correctly) were truly laughable in the conference finals.
I know Nashville has new ownership, but I still wouldn't be suprised to see them leave within a 3-5 years.
