Somebody let me live vicariously through them. Please tell me what it is like to hear this song live. And if anybody met Genesis in person, what was he like?
This is an amazing song. Throbbing gristle and coil, would be nice to hear music like this being produced today instead we have a bunch of douche bags running the music industry calling this bullshit they're trying to make us listen to music. I don't care about Gen being a cunt or any other differences they all had. It's about creating something from nothing, and when there's issues within a unit you address them through lyrics and music. @AJtheory If U2 actually did a cover version of this maybe Gen and I would actually get some song royalties for it! It is a bit of an anthemic vibe that U2 could exploit.
Kinda curious, what is weird about this? it is a tribute to Ian Curtis. Dolphins and GP standing there mostly. A few flowers maybe here and there. I think it is a nice tribute.
G-PO is awesome he has dedicated his entire life to breaking apart social and mental boundaries. The fact that not only does he always live up to what he preaches but is always prepared to take it to the next level certainly earns my respect. By going so far as to become androgenous and destroying the concept of gender he is a real pioneer and a pinnacle of open mindedness.
I agree, it is also quite touching that he did it for his wife. Quite a sacrifice giving up ones gender, regardless of the other admirable reasons you stated.
I'm sorry but this thread is hilarious! I think Genesis has tripped a little too much acid. What you pass off as brilliant philosophy is actually drug-fueled brain fry. I've been an on-and-off Orridge fan for many years but common sense has to kick in at some point.
@Steeplerot Yeah, right. Self indulgent C.U.N.T. sacrificed his 1st wife and his 2 children with her to do drugs with a junkie dominatrix that dropped dead. Sacrifice... find a new fucking definition you numbskull.
@muzack When I met Peter Hook once he was very kind to me and thanked me for writing it saying, "Why didn't we (ie. New Order) do something like that ?"
When I met Tony Wilson, he got nervous and said Hookey mentioned it to him but that he hadn't heard it yet.
@dangerfellini I do somewhat agree Gen is a bit of a twat, but christ you seem like a bit of a bitter bastard...What happened? was lady jane yours or something?

I am glad I met genesis back in 2000 and got his autograph.
I went searching for him after I saw this video in 1998.
I would say, that he is a prophet. But of a type that would blow most ordinary humans perspectives out. He is not for everyone.
I salute genesis p-orridge.
