when you say the top can get an irregularity i know what you mean. sometimes when i'm forming it one side begins to get thicker than the other. any tips?
sounds like you're pulling up too quickly, i tell my students to try counting slowly to 5 while pulling to keep a slower steady pace, and you should see your walls start to even out. hope it helps!
Simon...is there anyway you can show us a better view of the collaring? This is something I am having a hell of a time with. Can't quite find a good example. Thankyou
Can you give an approximate height for the olive oil jar & approximate clay weight to use when making one? I attempted to make one in class. It turned out nice despite the need to cut away the top after the top became a bit top heavy causing it to sink into the bottom. I cut away in time to salvage it; shorter than I planned but intact. Next is the stopper and handle before hitting the kiln. Thx for the videos. Pais/Sam
When I make pots in UK I am based at Lowerdown Pottery in Bovey Tracey , Devon .I dont put 'england' on those pots but L+ plus my Ls seals.Pots emanating from Spain have (usually) 'spain' on as well as Ls. SL
Hi again, Simon. The ONLY addition to your videos that I could use would be to know how much clay you are using for each project. That would help in knowing if I am pulling thin enough to acheive a project of the same size as yours (of course, not the same quality). I tend to keep my things too heavy.
This is in Spain
