  • Oh Dear Jane Austen you are a force to be reckon with and you are an inspiration to all!! If it wasn't for her brilliant books I don't think I would have been a writer. She is brilliant and witty and truly truly is an amazing person. Thaks for this upload very much appreciated!

  • Jane Austen was revolutionary. She is an inspiration to us all with her wit and her refusal to marry without affection. She had radical ideas then; and she inspires me with her great work.

  • she is an ispiration for many woman, even in this the "future".

while there are women now thinking in hollywood and vanity instead of getting smart and have a brilliant personality.

  • Thank you for posting this documentary, I love Jane Austen she was an amazing woman that identified in her novels most of the romantic desires of women. I wonder if men ever realize that if they ever want to please a woman or get on their good side they need to understand them and to be able to to do that, they just need to read Jane Austen novels to know what talents a men we really want.

    Thanks again.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this documentary. What women take for granted these days, marrying for love, earning money from writing, were revelutionary in Jane's days. I have tremendours respect for her courage and talent.

  • Long live Jane Austen <3

  • Thanks, I've learned a lesson out of this which is if you write or compose music or make paintings you should be aware of the place you do that and be carefull not to change that place due to circumstance because you might find yourself in a place without any connection, hope you understand this...

  • "Had she lived longer imagine what other classics she might have left us" so true!! and it makes me sad!

  • I can't believe I've never seen or heard of this before! Thanks so much for posting!

  • Thank you so very much for sharing the Jane Austen story. I really am anxious to read some of her books now that I've just viewed a few of the movies adapted from her novels!

  • Jane Austen is definitely an inspiration to me. Because of her novels she will always live on. :)

  • Jane Austen is my hero, an original feminist.

  • I am happy to just have been watching this documentary. It is very nice information, and she is indeed one of the best authors with a good perpective, intelligence and moral in life.

  • Thank you for this

Jane Austen is a treasure, there is not and never will be anyone to compare.

I think her books should be mandatory reading in high school to teach men about honor and integrity and women about virtue, charm and politeness

  • The comment by jacmo55 is of utmost value in modern life; it is probably the wisest and best I have seen at YouTube.

  • ah, thank you so much for these. i love the realism behind all her novels.

  • thank you so much for this. I think Jane Austen is an example for all women, that we can do whatever we want, and we can't be forced to live another kind of life. It would be great to be able to touch and read her letters and her manuscripts...

  • Thank you for posting this documentary.

Does anyone knows if there is any site where I can purchase this documentary on a DVD so I can watch it on TV?

  • A very good documentary, thanks :)

  • Thank you

  • I absolutely loved this. Thank you for posting these videos.

  • thank you for posting. Jane Austen was a woman ahead

of her time. a great writer. she soared about the life she

lived with her imagination. i just wish we could see those

letters destroyed by her sister, understandably, but sad

    just the same.

  • I am sure her letters would be very interesting and witty :)

  • @ksotikoula Those letters that Cassandra did not destroy have been published, if you're interested in reading them. They are very interesting, once you have some historical context for them (as is given here), and they are definitely witty at times, while also being scathing at times. Either way, her brilliance with language and her love of her family are clear throughout the letters.

  • @lovejaneausten

Thank you for letting me know. I haven't read much about Jane Austen and her letters. I know that many have remained, but I had also heard that some people blame Cassandra for destroying part of them. I was referring to them. Thank you anyway!

  • I adore Jane Austen =)

  • although i have read all her novels twice,i still think that, the brontes are much better. i compare their work ,with the kind of music of mozart ,with this of bach.how much joyfull is the first, how much grave ,but still full of hope is the second.

  • Thanks for posting:)
