  • couldnt you have just build a tube with a release valve at one end?

just asking, I'm new to liquid cooling

  • What tubing is that its looks really nice and red.

  • were did you get your conection for your mem block for please. as i would like two of them

  • do u have a water cooling tutorial?

  • water-cooling memory is overkill and a waste of resources. you

you can touch memory when its running and never burn your finger. the memory temps are the same as the water.

  • @saloei hahaha then you should feel my memory. somehow its burning hot an its only at 533mhz.......... soooooooooooooo yeah and its "cooler"

  • Cool method. Reminds me of removing water from a fish tank.

I disconnect a hose with disconnects put one end into a bucket and blow into the other end until everything but the bottom of the res is drained. Warning: It taste foul.

  • you should change your fans...they are ugly (no offense)

  • woow i think these things look so cool i didnt evn think they could have water coolin system for pc. its like somthing out of an engin coolin system lol

  • what happend to the tat i looked at vids found nuthing

  • I posted some vids have a look

  • the butt hole.............................

  • why do you drain the water ?

  • @BIGPOND400 Draining my system ready for fitting the OCZ 1150MHz Flex II watercooled RAM read description....

  • Great and usefull video man! May I ask if your happy with the Noctua fans you've got there? Or are they reallly overrated..? No good Price/Performance ratio etc

  • what MB r u using

  • Holy fuck.I was eating when i saw it XD

  • To drain my system recently to replace a res and pump I have some hose clamps which you clips onto the tubes tighten them up and it stops the flow of liquid. So I placed on of these onto the return hose to the res simply removed the hose (there was a little drip. I then placed this pipe onto the new res and fire up the system. This then pumped all the liquid from the old system to the new res. I then disconnected the pump outlet and reattached to new pump and that was it.

  • I have been trying to locate some of these clamps recently but cant find them, bought them from scan originally but neither specialtech or watercoolinguk sell them

  • oh lol just checked overclockers sell a them "OcUK Value Hose Clamp "

  • Where do you get distilled water in the uk?

  • Tesco...in the car section :-)

  • sorry repled under the name of scooba steve, mate left his youtube thing signed in lol

  • @MrRittzy i think you can just boil tap water a few times, but i'm not sure

  • @MrRittzy microwave water, dont let it touch metal

  • @elliottjameswalsh

Microwaving water does not distil it.

  • Thats the stuff i got too, but it was de-ionized water, i know there pretty much the same but i thought you actually had got proper distilled water lol

  • Awesome.! +++++

  • nice vid

  • Is there such a liquid for computers without dye?

So that i don't have to drain every now and then?

  • Distilled water works very well. I've been using it for months now with no problems at all!

  • Thanks for the quick response

  • @vortecks2000 i heard distilled water can rust out your parts and cause condensation or w.e

  • @vortecks2000 watercooling systems in computers doesnt have a sense

  • cool video dude but what kind of liquid cooling are you using its cool men 5 stars please get at me im i cant find the perfect liquid until know this is the liquid cooling i've been looking for

    =] thank you

  • It's Primochill with one of their dye bombs.

I warn you.... it glogged my system up after 2 months and I had to drain and clean all the blocks.

  • @vortecks2000 What dye should I use than?

  • @TurboHertz

    Simple....... Feser

  • @TurboHertz don't use a dye. the dye comes out of solution and clogs blocks/ stains tubes. Personally I don't care about the stained tubing part, but a clogged HK 3.0 bothers me.

  • A question, is it a must to change the fluid?

  • Not if your temps are ok. I've heard people running the same fluid for 4 years.

I only drained mine because I needed to do some mods.

  • doesn't it start to gunk up or something? so if your using distilled water and dye you shouldn't gunk up right?

  • Yes, it does 'gunk up'.

I recently had to drain and clean mine out because the die in the water collected on the CPU block. I'll never use Primochill again!

  • yea that sucks must have raised the temps tell you realized it was the dye

  • Temp went up to 65c.

Every waterblock had do come off and be cleaned. There's probably still some in the radiators though.

I'm planning on building a completely new rig soon so.........

  • i had not changed my coolant 4 2 years now

  • or u just make a T-joint at the lowest part, and put an valve on there, just open the valve and let it drain into a bucket or bottle :P

  • where do you buy your comp stuff. cheers

  • Newegg and Tigerdirect.

  • mine had a leak got half a litre of coolant over my gx2 no damage at all

  • what ttype of coolant was that>>???

  • thermaltake, gren basic version

  • I want to liquid cool my computer soon

I have the Striker II Extreme with the fusion block

    Q6600 @2.4 GHZ, 4GB DDR3 1375MHZ Ram, GTX 295, and 640GB 7200RPM hard drive all in an Antec 1200

I want to get the best possible liquid cooling solution for my CPU so I can overclock the CPU

could you recommend me some parts..( some that won't need case modding perhaps) and is any case modding required for a liquid cooling system in an Antec 1200

oh do you need to drain the fluid regularly

  • Well, you're already nearly half way there with the Fusion block so all you need is the CPU block, pump and radiator.

The first question is......are you doing your GPU too or just the chipset and CPU?

I can give you a word of warning now...... DON'T use any coolant with dye....look at my latest video on WCing to find out why.

  • the GPU waterblock for my GTX 295 is quite expensive so I won't be water cooling that

I am going to cool my CPU and chipset only

thats all thats needed to overclock my Q6600 B3

  • Comment removed

  • hi mate, i have a question, if i were to drain all the water from my WC system including the tubes. i should release one tube and blow on it rite. i am not sure still a noob in WC

  • Basically.....yes.

An easier (and quicker) way is get a bucket, take the longest tube and cut it over the bucket and let it drain. You can then blow down one end of the tube but beware, you'll never get all the fluid out of the radiator so don't turn it upside down until it's completely off!

  • thanks mate, by the way you have an insane rig ;-]

  • No probs. I might be doing another video today or tomorrow with a FAQ section so keep looking :D

  • with water cooling, do u still get alot of dust?

  • TBH there's not much difference between air and water, there's still fans blowing it round

  • so..why do you need to drain you water cooling system?

  • As it says up the top right and at the beginning of the video.....to fit some watercooled RAM

  • 2:35 lol. Sounds funny when it sprutles out :D

    Nice rig though

  • lol spagetti

  • that is like a water cooling obsession its awsome lol :)

  • What water cooling system do you have?! I NEED IT!!! lol.

  • I'm doing a final video with all the specs and parts used........ should be posted mid week :D

  • Wow! You and tjharlow have some good pc's.

  • It becomes an obsession. lol

  • i've had to drain mine quite a few times, and you make it 100xharder than it has to be. just get a big bin, I got like a 2 gal bin (you can use like a tin cake bin for example. take out your video card.. hold it over it, the side with the tubes connected at the bottom. then just unscrew it, and let it drain. worked for me everytime, no problems, no coolent on my parts, and its a full drain not a partial.

  • I can't get my video card out without disconnecting some plumbing first. To do that, I'd have to drain some fluid off.

I did the video to show that you don't have to cut pipes to partially drain your system. If I'd needed to drain it completely to change the plumbing or remove the rad, I'd have done it completely different (probably similar to your description).

Doing it this way, you could at least change the CPU block without all the hassle of getting the air outta the rad.

  • yeah, on my newest PC i've had to take the CPU water block off, what 3-4 times now to send the motherboard for replacement.. and well, I guess that would be a way to do it, just unhook the CPU waterblock, then hold it over a bucket and then unscrew it and pop the tubes and the liquid into the bucket.

  • Sweet cooling man cant wait to see more quality was great.

  • I'm working on the final vid now.......I'll post it later. I'm glad people can actually understand what I mean lol.

  • gr8 tutorial.

might use ure tactic 2 draining next time i need 2 :P

instead of using a syringe and a petpet lol

  • It's basically a syphon system.

I used to suck on the pipe but after getting a mouthful of anti-freeze (Ethylene glycol is the base of watercooling fluid - same stuff as in cars), I had to think of another way!

I'm glad someone got the grasp of what I was saying :D
