  • OK, I love the fact that you got one and that's great... I'm an engineer and I use one everyday and I will admit that it's more than what I will ever need. I know what I paid for it and I know that there is no way... I mean NO WAY that a 14 year old can get a job.. let enough have a job that would make enough money to pay for one of these on their own... Mommy & Daddy paid the bulk of this (had to of) I call B.S!

  • wow...... a lot of people like arguing with 14 year old kids.

  • guys stop wyining he problaby worked hard to save up 4 this!

  • awesome machine congrats

  • Good for you man saving up probably about 2500 takes discipline. Now you'll enjoy your Mac that much more.

  • @DickKnowsBest Well I probably don't need all the power that the Mac Pro offers. I edit a daily broadcast for my school, I often make 3D renders but I can't say I use all the power I have. But the nice thing about the MacPro is that in 4 years I wont have to worry about my computer being slow. It will be the top of the line computer for a while.

    -Luke

  • One an a half years? Christ. I commend you for having patience. Fucking rare.

  • Guys, leave the kid alone. He didn't do anything.

    ----------------------------

I'm proud of you for saving up all that money, so I'm going to help you keep that machine working: NEVER EVER OPEN ANY COMPUTER BEFORE GROUNDING YOURSELF FIRST!

  • Umm dont you get a screen ? lol

  • damn u kid. freakin rich ass. i was lucky to get my macbook pro your like 12 and u have a 3 grand freakin mac. grrrr

  • Sense when have I been twelve? Im 14, and I have a job. I'm sure you can get a Mac Pro if you save up all your money for like year and a half.

  • oh excuse me lol. 14 year old. still. and dude im going to college i barely have enough money to get food or pay rent.

  • Here is the difference, you have to pay for food, rent, classes, etc. I dont have to pay for any of that, I live with my parents. So it was way easier for me to save up for the mac pro then you.

  • get a life and stop arguing with a kid.

  • Stop bragging, I have an 8 core mac pro, 17 inch macbook pro fully spec'd out and a 13 inch macbook pro for portability. I just bought the new imac 27inch to use for a monitor and bought the new mac mini server to use for data sharing. Oh and i might buy a macbook air and macbook for the fun of it. I also have an xserve, all the iphones, all the ipod line, every cinema display.

    Joking ofc.

  • lol.

  • Comment removed

  • So what? I'm 15, Ive got a Mac Pro Late 2008 version with Eight Core 3.2 GHz, and two 23" Cinema Displays. In my room I've got a 50" Toshiba TV, Xbox 360 Elite, PS3 Slim, a Wii, iPhone 3GS 16 GB, iPod Video 30GB (old), and my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1520 (also old).

  • ur rich. I bought a iMac 2009 and saved money for a YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

  • not really some kids have JOBS. like me I am getting a mac pro in a couple month's. I buy and sell computers, four wheelers, motorcycles and more.

  • What do you do what that kind of computing power? Run your own simulated nuclear test?

Actually from my comp sci student days - you probably could do that with a few of those clustered together.

    Xgrid - FTW!

  • Dude that is a sick system you've got. That computer will last you the next 10 years no problem. I have a Quadcore Powermac G5 from 2005 and it has worked flawlessly for me....... besides a lack of support for snow leopard.

  • thats awesome that you saved up man

im hoping to get one for christmas

    goodluck!

    :D

  • Holy Shit! It only took you a year and a half for that? I can only afford a friggen Quad Core. Plus, why does a 13 year old "assumption" need a 16core machine (Multithreading)?

  • A year and a half over work plus selling my prior computer at the end. And I am 14. Also I use the computer for graphic work, film editing, and animation. I edit about 10 hours of video a week. So Mac Pro comes in handy!

    Thanks for the comment,

    -Luke Conway

  • Just out of curiosity, what was your prior computer?

  • dude my macbook pro can do all that I need my 8 core. I created a program to bootcamp snowleopard server on one to share with my other computer's. Then I have 3d HQ Game developing and playing. At really high FPS.

  • 16core.... 8 core

  • 16 Cores with hyper threading.

  • they don't make that

  • It's nice that he saved up, but if you ask me a Mac Pro is basically an apple server. So yeah, buying an apple desktop, iMac. Laptop, MacBook Pro.

  • Jeune sodomite.

  • I wish I could save my money like you did lol ...

  • The good thing with a computer like is that you can upgrade

So in like ten years from now he will have an outdated skin but still have a powerful machine

  • His upgrades will be limited tho, it might be powerful but it wouldn't be as powerful as the newer versions, but then again by the time i reckon this kid needs to upgrade he will be alooooot older lol, I'd buy a Mac Pro, but i love my PC's to much

  • What a happy camper.

  • I still like my 2008 3ghz harpertown better.

  • I would just laugh out as hard as I can if at 1:30 you dropped the mac xD

  • should of got a regular computer

  • it would have been really funny if u were like ' oh shit i 4got to buy a screen

  • Can't understand why you would need the 8 cores. I'm all in favor of your saving up for it, and to be honest, I think it's great that you did. But because of the slower clock speed on each core (2.26 ghz as opposed to 2.66 on the quad) you'd probably have better performance on the quad model, not to mention you'd have saved a lot of money. I can't name one application that REALLY knows how to utilize 8 cores. Even Final Cut doesn't do much of anything with those extra cores.

  • ur a very lucky teenager

  • Yeh im getting one for christmas but only an 13" pro but its better then nothing!! Guys stop going with all this hes only a kid he dosnt need it, my son uses programs like adobe and hes a fly with them!

  • gosh all of u ppl stop bieng mean to him hes just a kid but i have to agree with the ppl's comments that why do u need a mac pro why didnt u just buy an imac !!!!! mac pro is mostly for video editors and companies kid like u dont even need a mac pro

  • nice one

  • dude it would take me 2 years salery to buy a good mac pro

  • Nice comp! im getting one this christmas!

  • YOU HAVE ZERO LIFE

  • FUCKING LITTLE JEW

  • You're really into that? :O

  • dude for the price of that Mac Pro, i got the highest end iMac 24" with the apple protection care plan and a 15" MacBook Pro and the apple protection plan for that and the snow leopard family pack and Call of Duty 4! I probly could have bought the 24" cinema display for my MacBook Pro and i still would have been under his Mac Pro price, but it is a beast

  • i actually went to the apple store online and selected the mac pro(the more pricey one),and put all of its expensive configs and ended up getting the price of almost 30,000 dollars

  • yeah but then again it has 32 GB of ram... DDR3.... 3 TB of Space... 1.5 GB Video RAM .... its gonna last you atleast a decade

  • why would you by an 8 core mac pro? your a stupid dumb ass. you don't need an 8 core mac pro, sadly in a year or two its going to be outdated and slow.

  • why the FUCK do you need an eight core mac pro. your fucking 14.

  • first of all there was no point in getting a mac pro when you get a imac for half the price and it comes with a screen and now way in hell will u use even half that power in that beast

  • Agreed

  • should have taken some of that money and spent it on a better camera

  • I never got to see the bottom of the box!!! Darn!!!

  • dude these thing cost a lot but it good with the 8 core

  • You should never buy a computer that weighs more than you can lift, lol.

And I can guarantee you will never use all the power that that thing has to offer... why did you think you needed one, much less the high-end version?

  • Cause of it's capacity. this kid isn't thinking about using all the stuff now, he's making sure he can still use it 6 years from now....and he can.

  • Because the higher-end your components are, the longer it will take them to become outdated.

  • Not necessarily true. What about all the people who bought big, expensive, quad-core PowerMac G5s back in the day, thinking they would last for 6 years? Just three years later, they're outdated to the point that they won't even run Apple's latest OS. Assuming I didn't need tons of power, I would just buy a midrange system for about half the cost of that Mac Pro, so I can easily/cheaply upgrade once the computer becomes outdated in three years or Apple comes out with a new enclosure or whatever.

  • Agreed, He's just spoilt! and uses his parents money on stuff just to make his look 'cool'

  • I agree too =D +1

  • wheres the monitor?

  • u need to buy that seperately

  • thats dumb i was tinking of getting one of thoes when i ran out of space on my macbook white thanks for writeing back

  • he got kinda confused on how he'd take that monster outta the box and he had to get his mommy's help

    lmao

  • "Monster" is indeed the right word for the mac pro!

  • Processor: 2x 2.93GHz Quad i7 Memory: 32GB (8x4GB) Mac Pro RAID Card Drive1: 2TB 7200 RPM SATA (+$240.00) Drive 2: 2TB 7200 RPM SATA (+$340.00) Drive 3: 2TB 7200 RPM SATA (+$340.00) Drive 4: 2TB 7200 RPM SATA (+$340.00) Graphics: 4 NVIDIA GeForce gt120 Optical drives: Two 18x SuperDrives Displays: 30" 2nd Display: 30" Mouse Mighty: Wireless Keyboard: Wireless Keyboard Wireless: AirPort Extreme Card Fibre: Quad 4Gb Fibre AppleCare Plan

  • ht'd not evn tht good wont b very good in 2 yrs

  • nice unboxing.grats for ur new pc

  • its not a pc its a mac r-tard

  • a mac is a Personal Computer r-tard

  • lol yeah i used to be confused about this. But all computers are PCs. As it stands for personal computer. There are macs and windows pcs.

  • your so dumb lol

  • Is that a response to me or the other guy?

  • Congrats on your new system !

  • Congrats, i really really want a mac pro.

If Steve Jobs reading, ;) Tired of my noisy PC

  • Sick man, I'm 13 and I have an iMac. I got it for Christmas but I saved birthday money for like 2 years. Next year when I start to work I'm going to save up for a Macbook.

  • dude his parents didnt pay for it he mentioned he saved for it

  • how long did he have to save, 2 weeks of pocket money, "cut away, and turn 90'o, and cut away"xD

  • Just been on the apple site and am curious how this turbo boost thing works. so for example if you play a game that only uses 2 cores out of 8 your clock speed will automatically increase by about 300 or 400mhz?

  • Very cool unboxing. ;)

  • OMG i just got one of these best mac i have ever had better than the mac mini, macbook, and macbook air i have these the mac pro is the best computer i have ever had

  • lmao he reminds me of neville from iCarly xD

  • Ya I want more.

  • Spoiled. thats all i can say

  • Excuse me? If I work for my own products how am I spoiled? It took me 2 years to save up for the Mac Pro. Troll.

  • What do you do as "work"

  • A few jobs I did were.

Mowing the lawns of my neighbors.

    Baby sitting.

Setting up computers. (setting up wireless printing, wifi, removing viruses)

    Washed cars.

Sold items on eBay and craigslist.

    Want more?

  • so you want me to believe you somehow saved up $3300+ in 2 years( i recall u saying 1.5 years on ur stream) by doing simple chores.*COUGH*Spoiled*COUGH*

  • give the kid a break, mate, no matter how he did it if he worked for it he deserves it.

  • Dont hate cause he found away to afford it

  • Well done FLC. Good video. Hope your Mac experience is always a great one. Note that the world is full of nasty idiots like Paintballbuy113 wit nothing but a bad mouth and an uneducated brain. Their reaction is often malicious and negative (mostly through jealousy). My good advice is not to answer any questions they fish you for and ignore them thereby giving them nothing to work on. Don't rise to them, ignore them. In the last day they will be swept away with the rest of the trash.

  • Ya I hop he enjoys it, I love any mac user. But it just seems ver unnecessary. And for your information I probably now a lot more about technology than you do.

  • Two years?! OMG. I want a Mac Pro so badly. I get $15 a week from allowence, loose change in a cup that gets me $30 when full, and money for christmas and my bday. I need more ways because I can't get a Mac Pro this way!

  • get a job lol

  • Who asked you to comment? I wonder if we are at all bothered that FLC is spoiled. I am more bothered by your attitude and your type of criticism and wining when people have been good enough to take their time and show us all this wonderful feat of modern tech. If the world was going to end in 2012 then I would rather be among spoiled people than minger moaners like you. Troll.

  • it's open commenting for one thing. Also it's not that I am moaning that I don't have one because frankly I don't have a need for it very much, even though it would be useful. I am commenting on him because 1 his computer costs more than 3grand. 2. I doubt he would need that much power in a computer, those are professional grade, I have a macbook with 2GbRAM and I can run any video editing app and run photoshop perfectly.

  • May I ask what made you choose this model?

What are you planning to use it with/do you use it for?

I understand it probably won't be games as it has the gt 120 which isn't quick enough for modern ones in osx or windows.

Either way, congratulations on saving up and getting a seriously powerful bit of kit. Enjoy.

  • What?

  • nice but for your age, why would have got a mac pro? besides games what could someone of your age use a mac pro for?

especially an 8 core as well?? are you hoping to do some professional work in the future? or is this your training tool?

  • noob!

My dream PC is a 17" maxed out macbook pro.

Mac PC towers are nothing specials, mac laptops are THE BEST ON THE MARKET though

  • hey kid good video dont mind the comments.

  • lmao spoiled little fuck!!! The box is bigger than him... oh well if we were rich well do the same thing.......

  • Shut the fuck up! Im not rich. I just know how to save up money. Im sure after 2 years of saving up you could get a Mac pro your self. So go get a life you fucking TROLL!

  • No need to be cursing up the video comments section. Don't lose your cool, Buddy. :D

Anyway, it looks like a very nice system. Upgrading that thing a few years down the line should be a breeze. You could probably use it for at LEAST 5 to 6 years.

Something I'd like to know: what will you be using your Mac Pro for? I'm sorry, but I just can't picture anyone of your age that isn't a super-genius requiring anything better than a current-model, maxed out iMac.

  • he wants ownage gaming system :P

I a kid too, I cant afford gaming PC, so I play on consoles :D

  • are you jealous?

nice buy! i work since year with a mac pro and it's really better than a windows PC...

  • How did u get that much money?

  • how old are you?

  • BURGES!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just ordered one with identical specs. Can't wait until it arrives!

  • soooooooooo lucky congrats

  • solid computer man! im going to replace my mac mini with that one day

  • I'd like to have one of these, but I'm happy with my quad core pc. Congrats on it anyways. Now get a better GPU for it, the GT120 isn't that good.

  • Can the 120 play new games would you say? Or at least run Photoshop/Illustrator well?

  • I said it wasn't that good, but it can still run games and design programs fine. I can run Photoshop and Illustrator on an 8400M GS on my laptop. And the 120 is about twice as good as the 8400M GS. Everyone say's it overheats a ton though.

  • how did you get the cash. i really want to buy this fappin system.

  • Im so gonna start saving for one!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • did you kill your parents and take there money?

  • the damn box is taller than you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i thought you had a Mac Pro

  • Congrats dude!

  • Dude, you are so lucky. That is my dream computer!

  • i think the fact that you have all these people ripping you down should be proof enough that you made a very good choice!

  • why do you need a mac pro are you a movie producer or a professional photographer? i doubt it, all you need is an imac, its plenty quick enough i got a 500gb hard drive,4gb ram and a 3 GHz processor and it the shit.

  • rich parents

  • BTW! can u send me a mac pro please, i could do with one! how did u afford it lmfao. i cant even afford a imac right now :(

  • awsome! i want one

  • an the 100th comment

  • 99 th comment

  • 100TH COMMENT :D :D :D

  • wow. I'm happy for you. I was tickled when you said you saved up for a year and a half for this machine. Do you have a job? I'm an adult with an actual job and it would take me more than a year and a half. LOL So what are you going to do with all that power? Enjoy.

  • It would take you longer because you have bills and all of that to pay. He wouldn't have to worry about paying out any money. He can just save and save.

  • With all do respect, why do you need a computer of such magnitude? Are you doing professional design work? Engineering? Music Production?

  • Hahahaha...If your mom needs to help you get the computer out of the box, you shouldn't have one.

    Just a thought

  • damn how much did this cost

  • It cost him about 3500 usd

  • no offense but arn't u a bit too young to afford a mac pro with all the stuff? (no offense rlly)

  • Why would you not upgrade to the HD4870 for another $150? The GT120 doesn't do the Mac Pro justice - it's a poor card.

  • agreed, it is a very poor card. Apple needs to offer some 1GB cards that arent quaddros, this thing is meant for professionals.

  • Wow, one and a half years of money saving? Do you need those 8 cores for some professional work, or are you just playing with it?

And more importantly, do you trick your friends into thinking you have 16 cores (8 cores with HT will look like 16 to the operating system) ? lol.

p.s for some reason i don't get e-mail notifications for reply's anymore, can someone reply to this comment just to verify this?

  • Replied!

  • Thanks, didnt get the e-mail which means something is messed.

  • it was proved in a lot of videos that a pc's quad core can out perform the 8 core mac even with the most expensive 8 core setup.

    even with the q6600....were talking 200 bucks...not like 6 million :)

u can put a mac on a pc now too. people who buy a mac are ignorant

  • where did you get the money to buy one of those they are sooo expensive

i wish i could afford one

    man im so jealous

  • Very attentions from your side, buddy.

You are ready to be a new Apple's vendor!

  • omfg! i wish I have one of that

  • learn English first....

  • wut the heck does tht do???

  • I heard that in June, Apple is going to release a speed update for the Mac Pro that will give the option for 3.2GHz CPUs and the Nvidia Quadro FX 5800, I've also heard that they are going to replace the ATI 4870 with the ATI 4890. But there is better news, when they release the Beckton Mac Pro in early 2010 it might be a quad socket config. Imagine that, 4x 8 core CPUs, that's 32 cores and 64 threads, with a possible 256GB of DDR3 RAM, and with Snow Leopard maybe even Crossfire or SLI.

  • That would be insane. Unfortunately not much software can even take advantage of a quad core processor, let alone a 32 core/64 thread beast.

  • TOO much power for you

  • Why is it to much power?

  • Because your a little jew kid that will only use it to surf the web this beast is made for PRO applications not things for little kids that dont even know what photoshop is

  • ARe you serious? I use final cut studio 2 and all of cs4 on a regular basis! And im no jewish... wtf? Surfing the web is for pc's. MacPros are for graphic desing, video editing and 3d graphics. All of which I do!

  • your wrong about the 3d graphics. wayyy wrong. if your talking about programs then yes, they have more USER FRIENDLY programs. but pc's excel WAY more than macs at 3d stuff.

  • I agree and disagree with that statement.

  • I somewhat agree with you... however I wouldnt say that PC's excel at 3D. Both PC's and MAC's can do the same thing. Creating 3D has nothing to do with the OS. It all comes down to the artist and what app he is using.

I use BOXX, and do 3D and post production work under Windows XP. My boss uses the new 09 MAC Pro. Both our machines can do the same thing... however mine is faster, because of the higher clock speed, which Apple does not offer.

  • Damn, I envy you! But if I was your age again I would've used all that money I saved up for my first car ;)

  • Pshh I dont need a car. Public Transportation FTW!

  • That will get the ladies going.

  • turn that in and get a mac mini

  • Hell no. MacMini is so week!

  • you mean weak right?

  • I am not a computer expert. So, will someone please tell me why Apple went from a 3.2 ghz processor to 2.66 ghz and 2.93 ghz Nehalem processor? I understand the CPU is not the only hardware component to make the computer operate faster. But, don't you want to have the fastest CPU, which performance is enhance with the latest technology incorporated into the motherboard? Or is there some other standard to consider about CPU/processors that can be explained without getting to technical?

  • i'll try to explain without getting technical, well lets just say that the new processors are better and the even 2.93 ghz of the nehalem processor will work faster than the 3.2 ghz of the old processor..

  • I had to go back on Apple's web site and reread the specifications on the Nehalem CPU to fully distinguish between the 2.93 Nehalem CPU and the 3.2 Harpertown CPU. Thanks for the assistance.

  • u're welcome.

  • having more cores makes them faster.

I used to wander that too, cuz they were like on the electronics store INTEL QUAD CORE 2.26 Ghz in big red letters. And there were core 2 due ones with 2.6 Ghz that werent in bold letters. So i ask a guy there and he says the more cores the better :D

  • I just put 2x 3.2GHz Intel 'Nehalem' Xeons and 4x ATI HD 4870s - (with modded heatsinks) - with a hotwired 1500W PSU along-side the current Mac Pro PSU into my Mac Pro, oh and 2x Blu-Ray HD DVD Drives as well. Quad CrossFireX works well in Windows Vista.
