This show is far superior to Dont Forget the Lyrics (except Wayne Brady). Singing Bee is just designed and executed better and it takes out the annoying Karaoke part.

So did I. We were going to have a local singer by the name of David Campbell as the host but he was unavailable. Channel Nine apparantly auditioned others as host but in the end, they struck a deal with the US host Joey. Channel Nine doesn't want to risk anything with this show becuase the channel is currently losing in the ratings to Channel Seven and wants to get back on top as soon as they can.
