I have a 93 Civic and my car over heats pretty quickly. When I pop the hood I can see light white smoke/steem? coming out by the thing above the engine. It is also leaking somewhere but I think its from under the thing where the.smoke is. Does anyone know what can be wrong or broken?
so many stuff that has to be removed to change a damn thermostat, in my v6 cavalier i dont have to remove any thing 10 min after i start the job the car is ready to go
You don't need to take the plug all the way out. Just back it out a little and let it come out the tiny hole at the bottom. That's if you don't want it all over your drive way.
Hilarious...Were you high when you did this video? I loved it, also highly instructive...He btw, can you come over and change out my thermostat on my 98 Civic?....Oh and the radiator too...Rock on
@itsCONTROVERSY : please l look at neilipo1 for more info on my car.. can u post video onn repalce motor mout in forn, valcover gasket, noise from timig bet area diagnosis >
Just changed the thermostat on my 95 Civic. There is no need to loosen more than just the two 10mm bolts holding the thermostat house in place. (After draining).
Very important!! The most important thing is bleeding the system after refill of coolant!!!! There is a bleeding bolt where the top radiatorhose is mounted on the engine (top/front side). Start engine, and bleed/refill until coolant comes up the top hole of the "bolt". Otherwise the whole system has no circ, and engine will overheat!
yo drew i have an 04 that is losing heat..the first 5-10 mins of driving i have heat then ill lose it for 5 mins then itll come back.my thermostat was changed by a shop but im about to change it now again just for my own sake.what do u think?
u know... the OEM coolant - the green stuff from honda - has some aditives that over time will deposit onto the engines metal parts where leaks happen
haha water ghetto! lol

@itsCONTROVERSY there is only pressure when its warm, theres no pressure when its cold
JDMInfinitig35 5 months ago
@itsCONTROVERSY Yes, there should always be pressure in your coolant system, even if the car is cold from having sat over night.
