Paul mentioned that it was four years ago this month that he submitted his application for BGT. A small step for a man, a giant leap forward for so many! Congratulations, Paul!
As many times as I've seen this wonderful video, I still am convinced that Paul was worried about his performance, until Simon complimented him.. then he breathes a sigh of relief. "Paul, you are through to the next round.. congratulations!" Love that part!

Merry, Merry Christmas, all you Pottsians and to Paul, Julz, and Caeser. May you all have the best possible New Year. Here's a wish that PPMSF could be up and running like it used to be.

Last night at Royal Albert Hall was Rememberence Concert for end of 2nd war. Singing was Haley Westerna who sang with Paul in his 2nd UK tour, she was good. I do wish Paul could have sang there also. Queen, Princes, Primeminister, celebrities all there, and the Gurkhas marched in also. The Gurkhas have been given UK citizenship becuase they have fought for us always. My father who was in navy 2nd world war said of the Gurkhas that they were the bravest disiplined soldiers he had known.
@meeragrantham sorry Meera, have to correct you, it was Elizabeth Marvelly that was my guest artist on my second tour, although it was Hayley that I recorded a duet with on Passione.
@paulpottstv Yes your right, it was because they were both from New Zealand, I knew as soon as I posted it. Paul, why is your album so badly advertized. The 1st of amazon.com came up at £23, the next at £20. and it said then out of stock. With Susan the album was around £9 everywhere and straight forward to find. Susans album was advertized everywhere, 3 documentaries repeat over weekend of release, she never sang live, just good video promotions, not like the video of Passione.
@meeragrantham It is more complicated than I would like it to be as I am not signed to one major label the way Susan is. Cinema paradiso is being released on Sony labels in much of the world but not everywhere. Syco will be heavily discounting the album to increase sales: it's a common marketing ploy. My album is not released in UK or US at the moment so amazon are selling imports which are always more expensive. Sony US and UK aren't going to subsidise something they make no money from
@paulpottstv Paul the price is unrealistic. If it is released it has to be the right price,, and if you were buying a Christmas present which one would you prefer to pay for, the £9 or the one over twice as much. Advevtizing has to start off right otherwise sales are affected and other knock on effects. I have to commend you on you "Polands Got Talent" performance, breathtaking. Paul you have an incredible instrument but the promotion has to be right. K. Jenkins concerts advertized TV months
Well, I'm jumping for joy over the news that the Paul Potts movie may get made after all. I want to see it! Several times! And then buy a copy! Or maybe more than one to pass out for presents!
@RebeccaRev This is fantastic news! I'm so glad you posted it, as I can't access facebook or gmail this week due to computer glitch. And Twitter was "overloaded" last night, WOW. But, this would really be phenomenal if the movie would get produced.
@97Aurora Hey, welcome back! When you can get back to Facebook or Twitter, there's a really nice article posted about the possible revival of the movie. I know that fans all over the world would flock to see it!
@RebeccaRev Thanks, Rev! For the time being, I am back, will search for that article. Check out the new video referral from my Ex, he he! Recall that he's the one who put me in touch with Pottsy's audition video.
@meeragrantham How do you sing Swan Lake? or the theme from Ben Hur? I didn't know there were lyrics to those.
You will be surprised at how great Paul's rendition of Wonderful World is. I wouldn't have chosen that, but I'm glad he did! Lots of good surprises in store for you! Get ready.
@grandmagrumpy Its the prices that came up when I typed in Paul Potts Amazon.Com and went in to myredroom site. Susans and others you just type in Amazon.Com or UK and its £9 or $9. much more straight forward. Just logged in to one of UK by myredroom and it is £33. which will put many off logging in again. There is not words to Swan Lake or Ben Hur, but haunting music and many artist write words to god music. I don't like Wonderful World for Paul, but Titanic and others are outstanding.
@meeragrantham When I go directly to amazon.co.uk. I see lower prices. Don't use the link on MRR.
AND these are all the Japan (foreign) version. Others are not available yet, but when they come out, the prices will be comparable to those you cite. Susan and others didn't make a CD in Japan.
Pauls album was ot to be found in most major UK stores after two weeks, Andrew, Faryl, Jonathan Ansall and Kathrine Jenkins were there from long time back, so Paul needs Amazon. for sales, and the way its been put out with his Paradiso is not organized very well. I don't see Susan and others album put out so badly to the public as Pauls has. Like theirs and Pauls other two albums, you should just type in Amazon.Com and the one site should come up with a realistic price.
@meeragrantham You may be looking at the INTERNATIONAL CD. That's pricier here in the US. Otherwise I see various prices, some around $15, which is probably around £10.
In the meantime Paul has given us sneak peeks of some of the numbers via his current promo tour.
Russell Watson is going to release album soon with Decca, £9.99, and it is very well advertized, and doing well in Amazon. charts. UK. Pauls would be better with Decca or Universal where Faryl and Jonathan Ansall are, they do a good advertizing job. myredrooms advert of Pauls album need sorting out, it is not straight forward, and too many different prices, all too expensive. Pauls Passione album was so badly advertized, as was Rhydian, Simon said he wanted to concentrate on Susan.
Yes, indeed, Paul has a very gifted voice for opera. Worried though about his Amazon. Paradiso. When you go in to Amazon.Com. a price comes up that is 3 times more expensive than the norm, another one is only slightly cheaper. Amazon.UK is coming up at £33. No one is going to order it at that price. Susans comes up straight away at £9.99 on all. and she is having a lot of publicity in US and UK. Its too confusing, very badly advertized, and loosing Paul sales.
I was explaining to a new friend today about the PP experience, and it struck me how big a part of my life it has been the past three years. Wow! Who would have imagined all that has happened since that green button went down? Love you all!
Cinema Paradiso is here. . . and I've been in rapture mode. A thousand thanks to the wonderful people who arranged the delivery. Ahhhhhhhh. . . . . . . . . . .
Today our Marieloupe said goodbye to her beloved MrLoupe........even though it is a temporary parting, the sadness we feel at her loss weighs heavy on our hearts. Marieloupe, may our Love, Thoughts, and Prayers surround you.......
@OriginalRecipe07 Hope so, but there are some very emotional film music out there, and I would have loved to have seen it on his album. Forgot to add "If Ever I should Leave You" from "Camelot" and the one in Japan with the warriors cover which Paul sang so well.
@meeragrantham Hi, meer -- US Amazon is showing two prices: $54 for an "import" (which I presume to be the Japanese release, with the two extra tracks) and $24 for "pre-order" (which I presume to be the eventual US release without the two extra tracks-- but who knows, maybe it will have some OTHER extra track). I remember that with previous albums, prices went down once it was actually available -- so, don't despair yet!
@RebeccaRev Hi. Rebecca Amazon are selling Paradiso at $24 for pre order, and Susans new album released in Nov. The Gift, is $9 dollars. For gifts which one would you buy ? the cheapest. People unless big fan will not splash out over the odds. When I went to Albert Hall to see Paul I was reminded that Katherine Jenkins was performing on the journey by posters in rail and such. Unless you bought the Daily Mail on such a day or read My Space, you wold not have known about Pauls concert. .
@meeragrantham The reason for the difference is that Cinema Paradiso isn't due for release in US or UK yet (I have no information as to when at the moment), and these are imports. Imports are always more expensive as they have to be shipped in. The price should come down as the album is due for release in Canada on October 19th, so the import cost won't be the same as from Japan. Susan's is being released in US and is being heavily subsidised by Syco/Sony.
@meeragrantham Well, I have to agree about the lack of promotion in the USA -- hoping that will change, now -- but I remember that with previous albums, the pre-release price Amazon listed was lowered when they actually had them in stock, so I think tthere's a good chance that will happen with this CD, too.
There are some lucky people listening to Paul's new CD tonight! (Sigh. . . ) Hope to have mine soon, then getting the bulk copies for presents when they're released in the US.
Wore my "I [heart] Paul Potts" shirt to an arts/ crafts festival, and was accosted by several other fans, separately, basically saying, "I love Paul, too." One lady wanted to know when the next album comes out, so I told her the release date was really soon in Japan, so maybe not too far away in the USA. Always great to meet other fans!
They are doing pretty well. My Dad is getting involved in a lot of activities where they live, and Mom is complaining (in a cute way) that he is too busy. She used to worry because he wasn't doing anything, so his health is definitely improving.
Welcome back HG, nice to hear from you again. Also is anybody following X factor this year, There is this guy Stephen Hunter who is very entertaining in a campy kind of way, but can't stop watching his audition.
@CarlosOreo1 Hello, my friend! How are you? I'll never forget how you walked up to my yellow truck and introduced yourself In Mesa/Phoenix when we went to Paul's concert there, and how jolly Paul was afterward.
That was a charmed trip.
Thanks for the welcome back, everyone. Now I have some catching up to do!
@holographygirl Lol I tried not to correct you, because were both actually there in Mesa only thing we did not meet there we met in Dallas and Houston.
Do you remember my sister at the Houston concert? Her 4 year old son had open heart surgery. The little guy is doing well now and is very proud of the big "exclamation point" scar on his chest. Little kids are so amazing.
@holographygirl Oh, that is quite somethig about your 4 yr old nephew having open heart surgery. I am so glad that he is doing well. What an awful time that must have been. God Bless Everyone there!
@holographygirl Your nephew is a brave little boy! Luckily kids can have normal lives because of those fantastic medical doctors and their procedures..
@Winifred214 LOL OK. THERE they are... well go ahead and delete them. Of course the top part of the page is for the High thumps-up count., and well deserved.
Man, I'd sure like to see our Paul break into France, especially the north, where I found so much similar spirits as his. "Department Du Nord" I loved it so.
Work is proceeding on Louvre II in Lens. They are building it atop one of their famous slag mountains. It won't be completed for a couple years, though.
Space does not permit my telling you all about it. Suffice to say, Northern France is the absolute divine infusion of Beauty for all the senses.
Wow! Back in the steamy ATL from a wonderful visit to the cooler climes of Wisconsin to find a track list (hurrah!!) and posts from a lot of favorite troll-battlers from the beginning! Hi, everybody!
There are many ways to be successful and keep a career on track over time and I wish them all the best. Greetings, Don Obe Wan, MeeraGrantham and all!
Simon Cowell said he wants to concentrate on Susans career, and X Factor contestants. On X Factor which starts in few weeks, one finalist a week is going to be downloaded because Simon wants a No.1 every week, what Simon wants Simon gets, his name and bank account grow bigger, Pauls album promotion was very poor. eg;- Man from humble beginnings it said and about one minute of singing, and not the dramatic notes. Then at peak time he sang live "Whiter Shade Of Pale" by sell date yrs ago
Pauls album was so badly advertized, as was Rhydians, it was all about Susan.
Faryl has a better voice than Susan, but the issues with Susan has caught the publics imagination, the papers are always on about what she gets up to, like Jordan, people buy papers to read scandal, they don't want to hear about the hardworking decent person, too boring.
When I went to Royal Albert Hall, in the stations were posters advertizing Katherine Jenkins, same with her album, Universall advertied weeks
@meeragrantham I think there's room enough for Paul and Susan and others out there. I think the more 'classical' voices are getting larger audiences. Paul has more staying power than most (e.g. Neal Boyd)
Andrew Johnston has to learn to sing with an entirely new voice. I think he's sounding great, but will he get his audience back?
I did see that Susan Boyle is going to sing for the Pope. Talk about an audience!
I guess I get off into my little part of the world here in Wyoming, but I do check back in from time to time to see how Paul and 'The Gang' are doing, especially Wini. I see that a special person has been posting here and I want to say hello and please keep up the good..., no- fantastic work. It's been a long time since we battled with the trolls on BGT, but it was all fun, especially seeing your (Paul's) success. BTW, Wini, how is Max these days?
@DonObeWan3 Don, I went peeking at your page in the Land of Facebook the other day and was wondering about and thinking of you. Also been checking the supermarket aisles. How are you feeling?
@DonObeWan3 And to answer your question, MaxTheCrystalSkull is doing well, I hope you two are FB connected by now...you should check it out, he's got some pretty awesome pix and such. We miss you! And miss you-know-who too....is he still around?? :)
@Winifred214 Yes, he's still around, and even another, plus the 4 alter-egos. After the brain surgery, my alter-egos developed alter-egos. So yes, we're all OK. Post surgery trauma has been almost nil- what little there was I did by over-doing it. I put your photo on my 'Friends' page. Been busy with my business & hobby and home projects, and some camping. Gimme a store, a date/time, and an isle- I owe you a big hug. Been invited to be in a world class book. Will explain off-list.
@1jammot Well it looks like somebody else -- (ahem, the genuine article by the way) -- we know beat me out in greeting you here! Terrific to "see" you!
Just a word or two of reassurance. The news of the last few days may have shocked some of you. Cinema Paradiso is NOT affected in any way, my diary is filling up very quickly with TV performances etc to promote the album. It will b released on Sony in many territories, although I cannot say precisely where @ this time. Japan is confirmed, and we're working on other trips round the world. It's not over yet, folks!
Little clip that I have been forbidden to broadcast

G-daughter as background girl at left in white jacket from 0:22-26 approx. Lots of fun making this, she said. She missed soccer practice and coach was NOT happy. Hey, ya only live once.
Today I had the great pleasure of attending a production of Don Giovanni in Princeton by Opera New Jersey. Leading characters of Don Giovanni and Leporello were played by Grandmagrumpy's "discoveries" Andrew Garland and Matt Boehler, respectively. Both were outstanding. Alert: Andrew will be taking the part of Schaunard in upcoming productions of La Boheme by Seattle and Atlanta Operas.
Good night Tempeldragen; another very special day today, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope you get some good sleep and we'll take on some more of the town tomorrow! Thanks so much and we'll see you at breakfast ;-D
Enjoyed "Phantom" with Di, but when the show started at 2:00 Atlanta time we both said, "Concert's probably starting right now in Alzaneu" and wished we were there!
Wow, it's such a pleasure to hear all the news here, on Twitter, and especially see the photos on Facebook! Too bad no one seemed to have any fun...
I missed the action GG because I went to the Poconos Friday night to escape the heat and only returned this morning. Sorry I wasn't around to hold vigil with you.
@Tempeldragen You are in for a raucous time. You may need a can of mace or something for crowd control. They will be rowdy by the time they get up there.
@grandmagrumpy suspecting a raucous time won't even come close in Norway!!
What is so amazing is that no matter where we meet, who we meet, this ww group immediately "clicks" like we've known each other forever- non-stop laughing, talking, deep conversations on philosophy, history,(ha, ha) and just chatting about nothing in particular. Simply put we just enjoy each others company so much. Have never met so many with such good, honest hearts...Larry had the perfect description...
Hey ! is anybody home? what kind of a vigil is this??? (sigh) Well see ya on Twitter. ok ok ok... so I'm procrastinating and not doing cleaning. Well what better reason???
Concert just past intermission. 3 new songs and new duet..
@dipatti It's been for EVER since we've seen you. big hole in conversation. Glad things are getting smoothed out. I'll bet you are enjoying a wonderful summer.
@asiamarina Thanks for you hilarious recap of the greeting and near-meeting exercises! (chuckling at EIG's revised itinerary) I was studying the map of Germany, and was surprised you'd would be in Bavaria! Must be beautiful there!
AND I also noticed that my mental geography is lousy... not realizing that Denmark borders Germany on the north.
I'll trace your path on the map, so keep the details coming. .
or was that just an excuse for more beer, since it is sooooo HOT here! GG, you might as well be here since as your name was used excessively and not in vain. Larry, our lovable mod & Jakcie. The Dragon is probably sequested to get ready for certain visitors...& Mr. Wini is collecting outtakes and verbal slips to later publication, more to come....
Tiny, as this hamlet may be, it has 5 train stops,so our little surprise greeting for Eddie was a little anticlimatic. It wasn't long before wayward Eddie showed up, tho!
Did I say that this is probably a nice quiet little place, until we got here?Since then, we've managed to sample the local brews, close at least 2 establishments and laughed alot. Oh, and btw, we did see the Castle, in the middle of town. Believe me all of your ears shld have been burning, esp Matko, who was warmly toasted..
My evil twin, Dirk!!! A greeting fit for those schlocky old movies, & no doubt an amusing sight for a few unsusecting locals! Especially when we explained we were twins that hadn't seen each other for a little over a month! We hooked up with the rest of the cast, in a little cafe, where we met Ms& Mr Elli for the 1st time and the adventure was off. After a bit ,all went to the train station as a welcoming party for Eddie, except he didn't show up. Like moi, earlier, he got off at another stn!
Hi Everyone from a certain little village in Bavaria. Yesterday, this was a dot on a map. Today, it is the nexus for a group of friends from a lot of other little dots that have converged here to celebrate music, friendship and a certain tenor (and, of course, his better half!).
It is about an hour and one train change from Frankfurt, but a world away. Imagine. After getting in y-day am, thought I'd go for a recon to get the lay of the land. But who should appear before my wonderous eyes ?
So what is the secret to posting here now? I click "Post" and the word "OK" appears on the left, but it won't let me click it. Then I click "Post" again and it seems still nothing happens. Then I refresh the page and I see it showed up. Is there a better way?
@grandmagrumpy The video intro?? Nothing is changed from the first time I uploaded it. Is that what you mean? Or the gargling recipe added to Original Recipe? :)
Will send logistics in a YT email once I know I am drafting and sending German YT email correctly. Still need to get used to the German keyboard. The key positions fro the "Z" and "Y" are reversed. YIKES!! I've made that mistake about 1000 times now.
Winnie, Yes, train. The train ride is very nice. I think the distance is more like 65 miles but that really doesn't matter. The trip takes about 90 minutes. I am very excited about this. There is at least one tour that is in English. Perhaps others. Looking into it. We can take the train back - anytime we wish - every half hour.
And here "I'll always love you" with full orchestra. watch?v=ISTETqFxgNg&feature=player_embedded

Like theirs and Pauls other two albums, you should just type in Amazon.Com and the one site should come up with a realistic price.
meeragrantham 1 year ago
@meeragrantham You may be looking at the INTERNATIONAL CD. That's pricier here in the US. Otherwise I see various prices, some around $15, which is probably around £10.
In the meantime Paul has given us sneak peeks of some of the numbers via his current promo tour.
grandmagrumpy 1 year ago
Russell Watson is going to release album soon with Decca, £9.99, and it is very well advertized, and doing well in Amazon. charts. UK. Pauls would be better with Decca or Universal where Faryl and Jonathan Ansall are, they do a good advertizing job. myredrooms advert of Pauls album need sorting out, it is not straight forward, and too many different prices, all too expensive. Pauls Passione album was so badly advertized, as was Rhydian, Simon said he wanted to concentrate on Susan.
meeragrantham 1 year ago
Yes, indeed, Paul has a very gifted voice for opera. Worried though about his Amazon. Paradiso. When you go in to Amazon.Com. a price comes up that is 3 times more expensive than the norm, another one is only slightly cheaper. Amazon.UK is coming up at £33. No one is going to order it at that price. Susans comes up straight away at £9.99 on all. and she is having a lot of publicity in US and UK. Its too confusing, very badly advertized, and loosing Paul sales.

Pauls new album Cinema Paradiso price of album is three times more money than Susan Boyles and most others.
Is someone trying to destroy his career. I for one will not buy it at that price. What is going on.
This is amazon.com.
meeragrantham 1 year ago
@meeragrantham Hi, meer -- US Amazon is showing two prices: $54 for an "import" (which I presume to be the Japanese release, with the two extra tracks) and $24 for "pre-order" (which I presume to be the eventual US release without the two extra tracks-- but who knows, maybe it will have some OTHER extra track). I remember that with previous albums, prices went down once it was actually available -- so, don't despair yet!
RebeccaRev 1 year ago
@RebeccaRev Hi. Rebecca Amazon are selling Paradiso at $24 for pre order, and Susans new album released in Nov. The Gift, is $9 dollars. For gifts which one would you buy ? the cheapest. People unless big fan will not splash out over the odds. When I went to Albert Hall to see Paul I was reminded that Katherine Jenkins was performing on the journey by posters in rail and such. Unless you bought the Daily Mail on such a day or read My Space, you wold not have known about Pauls concert. .
meeragrantham 1 year ago
@meeragrantham The reason for the difference is that Cinema Paradiso isn't due for release in US or UK yet (I have no information as to when at the moment), and these are imports. Imports are always more expensive as they have to be shipped in. The price should come down as the album is due for release in Canada on October 19th, so the import cost won't be the same as from Japan. Susan's is being released in US and is being heavily subsidised by Syco/Sony.
paulpottstv 1 year ago
@meeragrantham Also in the interest of fairness, Syco/Sony did exactly the same with me in the US. They started out with a special deal on Amazon.
paulpottstv 1 year ago
@meeragrantham Well, I have to agree about the lack of promotion in the USA -- hoping that will change, now -- but I remember that with previous albums, the pre-release price Amazon listed was lowered when they actually had them in stock, so I think tthere's a good chance that will happen with this CD, too.

Work is proceeding on Louvre II in Lens. They are building it atop one of their famous slag mountains. It won't be completed for a couple years, though.

Then at peak time he sang live "Whiter Shade Of Pale" by sell date yrs ago
meeragrantham 1 year ago
Pauls album was so badly advertized, as was Rhydians, it was all about Susan.
Faryl has a better voice than Susan, but the issues with Susan has caught the publics imagination, the papers are always on about what she gets up to, like Jordan, people buy papers to read scandal, they don't want to hear about the hardworking decent person, too boring.
When I went to Royal Albert Hall, in the stations were posters advertizing Katherine Jenkins, same with her album, Universall advertied weeks
meeragrantham 1 year ago
@meeragrantham I think there's room enough for Paul and Susan and others out there. I think the more 'classical' voices are getting larger audiences. Paul has more staying power than most (e.g. Neal Boyd)
Andrew Johnston has to learn to sing with an entirely new voice. I think he's sounding great, but will he get his audience back?
I did see that Susan Boyle is going to sing for the Pope. Talk about an audience!
I wish them both long, successful careers.
