i know i may sound a bit crude, but they sould have turned up the intensity on the dialogue for this scene. to truly illustrate why jewel felt like that.

for example before saying the i hate samba thing, blu should have recalled everyting that happened to him and told jewel off with something like "i wish i had never met you"

then jewel should have followed up with "fine! have a nice life, pet!

just brainstorming here

I don't think using Romeo & Juliet was very good example. 1. In Romeo & Juliet their family's are fighting, Blu and jewel don't have families. 2. Romeo & Juliet both died without having any kids, but Blu and jewel do live and get to have 3 kids. 3. Romeo & Juliet had a very sad ending it was a great ending to a great story but it was very sad, rio ending was very happy, everyone get to live no one was killed or beaten ( that not include Blu who got his ass kick but jewel when they first met.) a
