  • Respect..total respect for elayne..I am body piercer myself and n I had to read the piercing Bible in my apprenticeship. She is one smart lady

  • Elayne, you are a goddess.

  • The jewelry style was the client's preference. I'm comfortable using both ring and bar style jewelry for this piercing. I may be traveling to Toronto, but I wouldn't be piercing there. The closest I'll probably be piercing is at Infinite in Philadelphia.

  • @elayneangel: I see you used a CBR on your client's tragus in this video. Was that her preference or your recommendation? And what would you recommend, in general, for a tragus piercing (stud vs cbr) during healing process? Also, will you be travelling to Toronto (Canada) at any point?

  • it looks so ..aaahh -.- but yesterday i get a tragus piercing and i felt nothing but it looks on the video that it hurts-.-

  • Hi Crystalline, If your initial jewelry fits properly and is of high quality, it should be left in place for about 4-6 months before changing it.

  • Hello, I got my conch pierced about 2 weeks ago i wanted to know how long must i wait until i can change my stud to a hoop ?

    Thanks for your time- Crystalline

  • @KillerMeth If the jewelry you're wearing in your healing conch piercing is high quality and of an appropriate size, style, and material, it should be left in place for at least 3-4 months or longer.

  • Wow, that was amazingly fast! You're the best, Elayne!

  • I'm so nervous to get my conch pierced, I hope my piercer is as good as her!

  • AUUUGH ! It hurts to watch T.T

  • You are an amazing person. I did my final research paper for my art in all its forms class. I few body mods of all kinds as art and a way of expression and yours are just gorgeous:]. I just wanted to tell you that. I use to talk about you to my mom alot when I was younger and she thought it was funny, but I really think you're cool:] My 12 piercings mean alot to me and your book helped alot.

  • You are amazing!!! :) much love and respect to the true master piercing artist!!!

  • I closed my studio after Hurricane Katrina and relocated to the Yucatan of Mexico. Now I pierce in different studios around the US. Info about my travels is on my website piercingbible[dot]com

  • omg i would love to have you do my piercings i cant find any1 that can do it an not mess it up iv had my dimples pierced but them messed it up an my eye brow an they messed it up

  • Awesome :)

  • That's why you need to be an educated consumer, to avoid bad piercings and problem piercings. From reading my book, you will learn about EVERYTHING to look for: all about evaluating piercers and studios, piercing placements, appropriate body jewelry sizes, styles, and materials, aftercare, troubleshooting, and much, much more.

  • Thanks Elayne. I'm going to get your book next week. I've looked at the website and feedback and it looks good. I love piercings but worry about them hurting or going wrong

  • Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. Something that could help a LOT is for you to become a more educated consumer, so you will be able to make good choices: select a qualified piercer, appropriate jewelry, and suitable piercing placement. You might want to read The Piercing Bible--The Definitive Guide to Safe Body Piercing. You can check it out at piercingbible[dot]com and purchase a copy from that website.

  • I did notice how fast you did these piercings too, which is amazing. Maybe I just had an unlucky experience and strange advice. :(

  • I recently got my tragus pierced and it was awful. Really small cbr was used and I bled loads. I started having real problems with it and got it checked by someone from another store who told me I'd been pierced really badly and it shouldn't really bleed if done right. She sorted it for me though. It's a shame because the experience has put me off further piercings and there were so many I wanted done. Any suggestions?

  • @MsWithnail, from your profile, it doesn't appear that you are a piercer so here's a brief section from my book, The Piercing Bible--The Definitive Guide to Safe Body Piercing to help educate you:

Immediately after being pierced, some bleeding, swelling, and tenderness or pain are standard consequences. Bleeding may continue—usually intermittently—for a few days. Localized bruising is normal, though not typical for most piercings.

  • No way. Sorry but if you're a good and experienced piercer, your tragus shouldn't bleed

  • As you can see, when it is done by someone who is skilled and experienced, it is very brief--and not too bad.

  • I want my conch done... So bad! Did it hurt??? I already have both of my Traguses done:) they didn't Hurt at all. I got those when i was 15 now I'm 16.

  • it would be an absolute honor to be pierced by elayne angel!

its going on my bucket list.

  • @dissected133 I pierce in different studios around the US. Elayne

  • @dissected133 I'm being pierced by her in August in PA! I'm so excited! I can't wait! And you are absolutely right. It is truly an honor to be pierced by her.

  • flawless!

  • Ah, makes sense, thanks :)

  • Yes, she is reclining. I find it easier to work with her in that position and the client is able to relax as much as possible.

  • Is this done with her lying down? Does it make it easier to get at?

  • This girl is a bleeder!

  • i love your work ! i didn't know that i can use use a needle one gauge (or one-half gauge) larger than the jewelry

  • you are so incredibly fast! and i love how you take the time to actually explain everything to your client, and also how patient you are. i hope to one day be as skilled at piercing as you are :) thank you for sharing this!

  • Love you work!!!! You are amazing!

  • I do use internally threaded jewelry (as an member APP, it is required)

    Excerpt from my book:

When performing ear cartilage piercings, many piercers (including me) use a needle one gauge (or one-half gauge) larger than the jewelry. This technique is intended to promote the comfort and healing of the piercing by allowing your body to form a small cushion of scar tissue. This may be more comfortable and make healing easier because the jewelry does not press directly against the dense cartilage.

  • Comment removed

  • @elayneangel Oh oops I saw the threading on the ball and somehow confused it for threading on the bar :cP my bad ^.^

  • Do you only use internally threaded jewelry or do you also use step down? which is what the conch piece looked like :c)

  • @DthCb4Jane As a member of the Association of Professional Piercers I use only internally threaded (or unthreaded/press-fit) jewelry. No threads on the post!

  • Excellent piercing, as I have said before Elayne I hope to be pierced by you myself one day!
