During the age of Nizam, Bathukamma used to be enacted by the Shudras — mostly OBCs. Dalits were not allowed to participate as they were seen as pollutants even by the OBCs of lower order. And the upper caste women — particularly Brahmins, Komatis, Reddys and Velamas — would not participate as it was seen as a Shudra festive game. They thought it was below their dignity. Salar Jung Museum is great; Golconda ruins are ok if u have infos about it, Indira Gandhi Park and old part of CharMinar are ok, otherwise boring (no offence intended, just talking from western standpoint).Check lonely planet book for best infos!
Nizams basically founded the entire multi culture, cuisine etc. Theres hundreds of Havelis/palaces etc located all over the city. The only reason theres recognition in the past 5 years is because of foriegn banks and multinational corporations. it is ironic to read your comment since Nizams were the ones who were allies of British and very open towards modernization. So basically what you see here is credited to the Nizams.
Apparently u never been to Calcutta and Madras and these two cities are planned and resembles london unlike other big cities in india. You know its obvious when you have companies like MS/Oracle/DELL/DOW/DUPONT investing in HYD foreign banks establish themselves.
I think its illogical to relate the cordial relation between nizam and british to modernization. Modernization is something like where the women do not need to cover their heads with scarfs!
The modernization version you are talking about is Eurocentric/ western which mainly has to do with getting rid of old Indian culture and traditions (Hindu/Muslim alike).
Infact actual modernization definition stresses mainly on change or openess to new change. That change being referred to technology and systems of present era.
India wasnt called modern when British got rid of "sati sahagamana/ widow burning". Example: India is modern since it uses Computer. lol!
I m sorry to say that its not british who got rid of sati but the educationists like "tanguturi veresalingam". Some sections are still uncivilized by having large families with 10 plus kids per family :o (no offense)
That means you have agreed with my point on modernization i.e, todays Hyderabad is product of Nizams legacy. Oh yeah Veresalingam should get credit for abolishing sati sahagaman, I will give you that one. Just stay on the point. If you want to have an argument on # of children......its on!!!
lol So according to your point all Hyderabadis should eat Micky Dees Angus hamburgers, all guys and gals should wear Levis to be modern. If that is your opinion I will also agree on this, good for you! I was only trying to defend Indian culture; women wearing scarfs or dots (foreheads) with sarees etc can also be modern; If again you believe leaving culture is modernization, then again good for you! I think its bcoz of such demeaning and decentralized opinions every other dynasty invaded us.
yah western media is pretty rascist i am an indian who lives in america and if u ask any american buy about india they will say india: cowns, beggers, dirty cities, no modern stuff, very little food, and terrorists why terrorists well american kids are a little dumb. So thye think there is no difference AT ALL between an iraqi, afgani, pakistani, or arabian from an Indian how gay up is that they think india is a terorist counrty i am so tired of hearing these coments saying indians are terorists
whatever i have mentioned below are not my assumptions, nor are they narrow minded self bias opinins. They r simply the truth about the average british person being gullible to the bias media, hence they will have their very own narrow minds regarding even the possibility of India modernizing.Ive heard all sorts of racist comments from non-indians about India on many youtube vidz. Once again, ignorance from bias media influenced assumptions and idle gossip. CHAK DE INDIA. BALLE BALLE. PEACE.
The new Hyderabad airport opens in 2 days time(23rd march)-I wonder if the bbc or other british media will be bothered to mention it.Lets see if they do.I think they most likely will-but dont be surprised if they dont- cuz all along they have never portrayed anything modern about India.if u ask the average british person what they think of the WHOLE of india or if they r aware of anything on a developing level, they will say pile of trash throughtout the country cuz they r gullible 2 bias media.
It really is pathetic how many ppl r so gullible to the bias western media(which portrays lack of eastern world developments)- many ppl r definately branwashed by bias media- they r totally ignorantly narrow-minded, therefore make their assumptions based on b.s. which they thrive off the media. British media is prime example- they promote no modern-bollywood movies, actors, actresses, developments of the forward moving parts of India-which do exist u narrow minded (many) ppl-hence ignorance.
INDIA IS DEVELOPING REALLY FAST. amazingly i was checking out the likes of mumbai, new delhi and hyderabad on the internet, and many of the pictures on this video were the ones that i found aswell,so clean, skyscrapers, highways, modernised etc. But Media from the likes of Britain are obviously bias, they will never portray things like modern India, todays Wetern-like Bollywood. They only show the poor cities with all the starvation and poverty area. INDIA is developing dramatically.
Hello Greetings from Germany. I was in Hyd in January 2007 for a business trip, but I also had 2 days sightseeing. Interesting country. Lovely People all over in Hyd and a real amazing city. I love Hyd and hope to get the chance to visit again. Your Video is fantastic.
HI PSWAr am really do not know u r name it is mind blowing video, appreciate your hard work
i would like to give some information about hyderabad places like Falaknuma palace (its really good) Mecca masjid( 2nd large mosque of India) khilwath palace , Charminar hospital, NIMIS hospital, miralam Tank, shamshabad airport, begumpet airport i can send u some picture if u r intereseted thanking you
these videos don't mean anything until the system for the ENTIRE india changes. its like america - if america didn't have a unified (developed) system governing all states, you will see vast differences between villages and towns and cities like in india. indian govt needs to get the shit straight and make the entire india into a 'space' city that should use technology never used in any developed country....(preserving natural beauty too ofcourse)...this will put india on the map!
Looks very beautiful but I bet these are pictures of the best of Hyderabad and forgetting the other parts of Hyderbad which are somewhat less than stunning...
This is a good vid bcuz it shows the important places and developments, but it doesn't show the road side shops, the traffic, the Old City, the poverty (sadly), etc...
Hyderabad is one of the fastest developin city of da world..i felt very nice to watch dis video.....hyd has been changed a lott...thks for this vid.......love yaa hyd
hmm hyderabad hyderabad nah raha hella changed now ppl forgotten da language fasi urdu newayzzgud job i guess i would ve been der if nizam dynasty was styll der

whatever i have mentioned below are not my assumptions, nor are they narrow minded self bias opinins.

INDIA is developing dramatically.

these videos don't mean anything until the system for the ENTIRE india changes. its like america - if america didn't have a unified (developed) system governing all states, you will see vast differences between villages and towns and cities like in india. indian govt needs to get the shit straight and make the entire india into a 'space' city that should use technology never used in any developed country....(preserving natural beauty too ofcourse)...this will put india on the map!

Looks very beautiful but I bet these are pictures of the best of Hyderabad and forgetting the other parts of Hyderbad which are somewhat less than stunning...

man... i miss this place so much.
This is a good vid bcuz it shows the important places and developments, but it doesn't show the road side shops, the traffic, the Old City, the poverty (sadly), etc...
