@TimeSpaceTim !! I was about to post, that the breakdown of this song (middle to the end) touches my soul the way that Led Zeppelin usually only does, :D
@SirAsura It's similar, that's a really good comparison, but I think the two songs are really different! I would consider mashing the songs up if I had any soundtrack pro knowledge
@horSeheadmediCine Actually if you listen. You can very clearly hear several similarities. You can hear similarities to a lot of other bands in many of their songs. They have an old sound, it's all basically been done before they're just repeating it.
@SKY101ful Sir, there is no need for name calling, even if the best thing you can come up with is idiot. I think you aslo lose the right to call people idiots if even you yourself can't put together a proper sentence. Also, you completely misinterpreted what my point was. Most but not all music has similarities. That's all I was trying to say. As for the type of music I listen to. It's obviously the same as you because we're both watching the same video
Joe Rogan is everything. He is the host of Fear Factor is is extremely intelligent, and has fuckin awesome podcast, and he is a very good politician. Pretty much is EVERYTHING.
Thinking any song is original, is funnily enough not original...... I'm reminded of zeppelin, hendrix, jethro tull, ozzy osbourne (rhoads/wylde eras). Who like every other musician on the planet listened to music, liked that music, then tried to emulate it..... great song!
It nods to Zeppelin, but Zeppelin nodded to Taurus by Spirit in Stairway. Hopefully someone will nod to this and write another good song. That is how music works you dumb shits. No one is born with an original idea.
@JPhill9990 There's plenty of people with original ideas. I have an amazing one that I thoroughly believe could be a hit, but I lack the guitar skill to do it. I have the voice, but not the guitar. It's just one of those sucky things in life.
@JPhill9990 i like the quote "all music is shared". i hear some tom petty in the solo also. great song. you can tell where the influence comes from, but it stands on it's own.
@jhoffa45 def sounds like stairway to heaven. How do you not hear it? It even jumps from calm to heavy halfway through just the same. Not complaining. The song still fucking rocks.
Haha Rogan really has created a cool fucking community of people. Powerful Joe Rogan! Love ya brotha! I went to this song exactly because it sounded awesome on I.H.C. You will forever be legend.
Typical black keys make you cry and kick you in the face simultaneously Im sick of assholes saying they are sellouts It's about freakin' time they made it big if you ask me! thease guys have been at it for 10 years
Thanks Joe Rogan, I like this band but haven't heard this nugget by the Black Keys before. Nick Diaz rocks and bust'n him for smok'n weed when they should be looking for performance enhancing drugs is retarded. If anything he should get an award for fighting as well as he did that fucking high!
This song sounds like a different old school song to everyone bitching about it. SO, who did they rip off? Or , could it be they were inspired by all these other artist, and created something new and Badass.
@mondaywar A music snob. Should have guessed. I've only been listening to music for 50 years and been to 78 concerts. I'm not going to tell anybody that I know more than them, just what I like when I hear it. Maybe if you cleaned the shit out of your ears and took the stick out of your ass you'd have a humbler attitude.
@Tigerroar88 fuck off, you dont need to have taste to realize that these guys just re-write other peoples shit, why do you think they have been sued so many times, open your eyes you close minded twat
The beginning sounds a LOT like House of the Rising Sun by the Animals in New Orleans. The vocals melody, exact. I like the Black Keys, but a rip off is a rippoff, what up, Dr, Dre?
@Deadaim0713 this is actually really simple for them.. listen to some of the shit on the big come up, thickfreakness, and magic potion, it will blow your closed little mind way the fuck open
@colangelog09 Hey, I came here to enjoy The Black Keys and that's exactly what I'm doing. When you say I don't appreciate music, you're implying that The Black Keys sucks. Is that what you're saying ?
It's funny. I got a double dose. I was listening to this song yesterday on my phone and saw Rogan's tweet. It's not the best song on the album either, not by far. I'm still a fan of Gold on the Ceiling and a few others off the new album. Nothing beats Thickfreakness though. Nothing. They open shows with that song for a reason.
I haven't loved a song more than this in a long time. The lyrics speak to me on a deeply personal level. The line "A broken heart is blind" just might be the most profound thing ever said in a song. I've had your CD in my car for a month now and I'm not tired of it yet. I just keep peeling back the layers, and while I know you didn't have me in mind when you wrote it, it has really impacted me. And it's just kick ass music, which makes it that much more awesome. Thank you. :)
