  • This is some good old fashioned smut. Awesome.

  • there is no way in this universe or any other universe that joel gray will ever ever EVER compete with alan cummings

  • Although i liked this performance, nothing beats Joel Grey

  • I like the way he says "I like it" the first time. It's kind of nonchalant which makes it funny.

  • oha ananizi sikiim sizin höh!

  • The woman who makes the bed is really hot. Hope she's not the one in drag.

  • Adam Pascal played the Emcee once, rogerandmimi94? Or are you, as your username suggests, just being a fanboy tool?

If it's the later, allow me to be a hypocritical douche: HOW DARE YOU INSULT NIGHTCRAWLER!!!! He's gay, and he gets more pussy then you'll ever get.

PS: It's Cumming, no "s" at the end.

  • I like Alan's performance best. When I first listened to Cabaret, it was its revival with Alan. So I'm more accustomed to that version. My favorite song has to be "I Don't Care Much".

  • XD OMGLOL

Brilliance. Saw an amateur show called "A Night At The Musicals" lately and this was in it; the Emcee was so energetic and funny, just like Alan's performance without being a copy.

  • This is such a great production. As far as I know never released on DVD but shown on TV once in the UK.

Alan Cummings is the definative Emcee for me - and Jane Horrocks is also superb!

  • Nobody does it like Joel Grey...

WHY CANT I FIND THAT ON YOU TUBE!

    xoxo

  • but alan cummings is also great!

  • I think Cabaret is the ONLY musical that's revivals were better than the original.

  • how sad...how pathetic that this video as flagged as inappropriate...its genius....

  • yeah, but that's just so kids won't go looking at it.

as brilliant as it is, you have to admit, it's not a kids video. lol

  • I Totally Doubt This,But Is There A Dvd For The Cabaret Revival? I Just Assumed So Because Of These Clips...Oh Well. This Is One Of My Favorite Musicals,I Have The Revival Cd On My Ipod :D

  • I wish the original version from Caberet the movie was on youtube. If anyone finds it let me know, ok?

  • thank you for uploading this, yrou wonderful

  • Joel Grey's performance in the movie is much funnier than this. A combination of overzealous singing (shouting in places!) and boring "raunchy" choreography make this version a bit of an anticlimax (no pun intended - or is it?) whereas the movie version still makes me laugh just thinking about it.

  • i´m spanish and i love alan cummings!!! he´s a great actor!!! wonderful!

  • This is the creepiest and yet the best song ever. Alan Cumming rocks, lol.

  • get in line bitches-- still think Joel Gray got this best

  • which one is Jane Horrocks

  • None. She's not in this scene.

  • Seriously there's something ridiculously sexy about him

  • YES THERE IS lol

  • agreeded *swoon*

  • wtf i need to do this song and im that guy wow that sucks for me lol

  • hahaha. :p

  • No, dude. If I was I guy I'd be the happiest actor on the planet if I was going to get to perform this song :)

  • It would be more fun to perform as one of the dancers in the Lyric theatre. They were in lacey underwear & tights, many of the girls' bras were translucent and there were lots of scenes in which they touched eachother.

  • lol i have to do this song tomoz for my singing exam.

Wish me luck this shall be fun.

    xxxxxxx

  • Is this video available anywhere???

I saw this production at Studio 54 so many times...!

Curious - - when did they change it up? I thought it was funny when one of the girls was a guy in drag...

  • Alan is sexy!

  • This is one of those songs that gets stuck in your head and then you have to remember not to sing it out loud while you're grocery shopping.

  • lol

  • haha i like alan! lol

  • Awesome !!!

  • LOVELY interpretation of this song!

  • Hey, wait, I thought Bobby was supposed to be one of the "Ladies" performing in this one.

But still, sooooooo much love for Alan!

  • Bobby is in the one with Adam Pascal as Emcee

  • Alan and Joel are the ultimate MCs

  • Isn't the Cabaret a lot in the burlesque-genre?

    from a new-born burlesque actress

  • I love his face at 1:46...when his legs are in the air. Love it!

  • so fun

  • DeDeLeDeDe I like it... LOL. Cabaret is supposed to be risque. I've seen a video of John Stamos performing Cabaret, lol, that was different but he did a really good job at it.

  • You know what I just thought of that this song totally reminds me of; Frank-N-Furter + Columbia + Magenta...from Rocky Horror.

    ;)

  • He totally gives me the Frankie Vice, lol!

  • Comment removed

  • lmfao it scares me when he sucks on his finger then pokes the air a few times.. its just creepy lol

but this is such an amusing song :)

  • Oh.. wow.

I think I have just become an Alana Cummings fan.

  • WOOT! go alan cumming!! and fans!

  • lol

    Alana cummings

  • it's cumming

  • Mormons have nothing on this!

  • Haha, everytime I see this I can't help but laugh. I love this version. Who doesn't love seeing Alan Cumming act like that?!

  • his eyes totally make every single one of his facial expressions amazing! =]

oh and LOL at 1:46 and 1:53 on...classic.

  • agreed!

  • well let's see... it's a song about a guy having two lovers at the same time... and it's starring alan cumming... gee, ya think it might be a li'l raunchy??? lol i luvs it... xD

  • i love this show! i wish i could have a chance to play the Emcee

  • I cannot stand an Emcee wearing underwear rather than a tuxedo!!!

  • O.o Joel Grey wears a tuxedo top in the scene, but he's in underwear as well.

  • Yes but Alan Cumming wears nothing but underwear for pretty much the whole thing. Joel Grey at least wears a tuxedo for the songs that aren't entirely about sex

  • True is that. But at the same time, this song is suppose to be about sex. >.> But you have a point.

  • I'd have to say that I think this version is more 20th century, while Joel Grey's was not. It just depends on the time in which it was done, or how the director chooses to portray the song. Alan talked about his character choices in an interview and he said that he didn't research Joel too much. He wanted to make Emcee his own, which I think is the smartest choice an actor can make. The character is in the script, not in past performances.

  • I think when it comes down to it, the dance number itself is probably better in the movie. However, I think Alan Cumming is a stronger singer than Joel Grey. Now, you can choose to look at this one and go, "OMG! Sex, it burns." But the song was always suppose to allude to sex. This just shouts it, while Joel Grey's number whispered it.

  • When it comes down to acting, I think they both play a different version of Emcee very well. I'd have to see them both try the version the other actor did before judging it. Overall, I prefer Alan Cumming's version. But I'm a bit bias.

  • He is stated saying he is bisexual and he is married to a man but has been married to a woman and dated Saffron Burrows

  • I've seen it done WAY better

  • It's Definetly over sexed and raunchy. You get more laughs with class. Suggestive not explicit. I do however like Alan Cumming's facial expressions and while he isnt a very good singer I really enjoyed to delivery of "I like it, zey like it"

  • That guy in drag is really convincing.

  • I like Joel Grey better. An it's funny knowing that Alan Cumming is gay, and he's singing this...

  • Actually, he's not.

  • what? not gay?

  • I'm pretty sure he's bisexual. But he is married to a guy so I can see how that can be misconstrued :) Any way he swings is sexy xD

  • I heard that he was gay on LOGO so...

it's possible that he's bisexual, but he's gay in my eyes.

  • Aye, bisexual he is, though he's been described on occasion as pansexual.

  • It does not matter whatsexual he is, he is HOT!!!!! LOL

  • And that is exactly the way one ought to look at it! Brava, my friend.

  • I agree!

  • Umm...yeah he is.

  • I do think this one is rather ranuch but he did do a good job but I acutally really liked Joel Grey as the Emcee.

  • Victor gonzalez is still the better Emcee I've seen. Sorry, he's spanish and there aren't any videos of him in youtube.

I saw him in cabaret two weeks ago, and I couldn't talk after seeing his performance. it was awesome.

  • hmm spose... not over sexed... its cabaret! lol

  • I did very dislike Joel Grey's performence as Emcee in 1967. But, Alan Cumming here, added enthusiasm and humor to this and gretened the name of "Cabaret". And yes, he's bisexual. >:) Actually, he got married January 1st, 2007, Sunday to Grant Shaffer, an illistator. Gosh, that is one lucky ass guy!

  • but don't forget that Alan Cumming won a tony for this role as well. Also, he won as a LEAD actor, compared to Joel Grey's supporting actor wins.

  • -faints-

  • Funy! But I prefer the original!

  • Wow. I bet that would be marvelous fun to perform on stage ^.^

I'm still partial to Joel Grey, though.

  • Ive performed this on stage lol very very funny!!!

  • I watched the show in London at the Lyceum Theatre and it's great. I think alan Cumming is great, the show's playing on sex during a warial time in Germany and he's really getting that through. Also he's very sexy, and he's bisexual!!

  • I know- Alan's simply lovely all over!

  • Don't you mean the Lyric? I think Lion King's at the Lyceum. Plus the London current show is more like the traditional version, not like this.

  • Hmm. While I like the film and Joel Grey's portrayal of the role of emcee, I admire Alan a lot more for bringing his own originality to the show. His version might be a lot more sexual, but I don't think it's right to criticize it just because it's different.

  • I missed the Swedish-version of this but the Emcee for Sweden is gay and he's a great actor.

Personally, I'd like to do the character of Sally Bowles

  • wtf?

  • not on of them is jane horrocks :(

  • i agree, i like Joel Gray's emcee much much more.

  • He's good, but he's no Joel Grey.

  • Alan Cummings went to my high school like 15 years ago.

    Woop!

    __October__

  • Interesting. One of the ladies was a man in the B'way version.

  • I haven't seen the Musical!!! *cry* Why? Lord! Why?

It's so funny. I've seen so much videos....

I love Joel Grey's facial expressions (I've got this word out of a dictionary, is it realy right???), but i think, Alan Comming was more funny.

  • Yes Irishmanufan Alan Cumming is gay

  • Cummings is better than Joel Grey was in the movie.... I don't know how Joel Grey would be on stage but anyone who thinks the way that Grey portrayed this character in the movie more accurately as intended than this Cummings portrayal doesn't understand how toned down the characters had to be for the movie. This is how the play was written. Raw and very lewd. This social craze signifies the political craze with the world events at the time.

  • i love this musical!!! it FUCKING ROCKS!!! better then most crap on broadway now

  • Joel Grey is infinitely better.

  • Definitely

  • pardon me i did'nt get it quite right . good luck to him . what ever he is or not alan cumming is a brilliant actor !

  • holy shit

    that was like.. oversexed lol

  • i love cabaret

  • is it his acting or just extremely horny?

acting i would think as is'nt alan cumming gay ?

  • Hes "bi"

  • He's bi, but even if he wasnt, of course he's acting, he's an actor, he wouldnt go on stage and ACTUALLY get raunchy with fellow castmembers, that's why its called acting!

  • -.- is it his acting or just extremely horny?

  • I love the one in the braids...she's so cute!

  • ahhhh. I agree with joeysdeaddoll. You can't just give it all to the audience. Subtlty is key.

  • oh i disagree. i think the innocence of the song paired with the raunchy, horniness of the emcee is PERFECT. you can't get enough! at least i cant...haha

  • i went to ROME and i wen to see THE MUSICAL CABARET over there...amazing show..very good...the italians are soooo good.......

  • amazing stuff. The short haired one is really fit!

  • i love alan cumming but i do think the revival is too raunchy, i mean, the original was subtle about its sexuality and it worked, theres no need for it to be so in your face

  • Yeah, I mean, this wold just be awkward to watch live.

  • lol, Cumming in your face?

  • lmao moribundlust, thats hilarious

  • R O F L M F A O ALFSMFOSAMFOSAMFOAS

  • rofl. the melody is so funny considering the subject of the song :P haha

  • I'd just like to point out that the film is not the original version of Cabaret. Judi Dench was the first London Sally Bowles a while before the film was made.

  • I would be your lady. (I'm new). X

  • very sexy (ja), but i do prefer the older version of cabaret, which is more comical than sexual.

  • sam mendes made this so much better

  • Okay, kinda scared me, but the song is funny. Thanks for posting.

  • I don't like the revival...the make the sordidness really obvious and kinda insult the intelligence...the film version merely implies!

  • actually alan is bisexual

  • oh yeah? yay! theres hope for us yet! lol i had no idea

  • lmao alan cumming kicks ass too bad hes gay

  • alan cumming the best actor!!

  • ...just watching this makes me want Alan Cumming more...

  • i really like his dimples.

  • Not like Cabaret rocks enough already....the Emcees are always fab. Alan Cumming rox my sox off.

  • i want alan cumming.

  • can we share him? :]]

  • saqui bidlidiii xdddddddddddd

  • I love this "I-know-you-want-it-too"-Look!!!

Alan Cumming is the best one!!!

    Anja hast dus gesehen?

  • hot and dirty. i love it.

  • isnt one supposed to be bobby... only a girl? but really a guy?? =\

  • I've been curious about that, I didn't actually get to see it performed, but it's definitely Bobby on the OBC.

  • In the version of Cabaret we saw in Holland, it was Bobby and a girl.

  • Whose the girl with the short slicked back hair? She's fantastic!

  • charlotte storey

  • good god, i love alan cumming. his facial expressions are wonderful.

  • I really wish and pray and hope and desire that Sam, Alan, and Nathasha get back together and make the damn movie already....and furthermore they should recruit Ewan to play Clifford Henshaw!

  • He has such a stronger voice at the end than the others. They sound out of breath and he sounds perfectly fine. Just an observation, haha.

Awesome video, I love this song!

  • so entertaining ♥ alan rocks

  • so dirty I love it go Rob Marshall

  • Oh dear god I would love to be the girl with the braids..

Alan Cummings is so damn sexy, even with his underpants up to his nipples!

    <3

  • Oh my. Alan Cumming, can you do no wrong? They need to release that performance on DVD. I must own it. NOW.

  • i saw a very sexy performance in london two weeks ago, but this one seems even more sexy and daring...

  • omg, i would love to braid lady when she says "and i make the beds"! who cares if he's bi, I love him!

  • If anyone has the Adam Pascal version, please post it! I would be indebted forever!

  • where did the Adam Pascal BWay version of this song go??

  • i love alan cumming. brilliant.

  • Jesus....did anyone else have an orgasm after watching this..?

  • I hope not!
