No. Nothing was wrong with this PS3! It just happened randomly. I have a new ps3 now so whatever happened to this one is old news. This one had the YLOD. I took care of it and its just the heat sync compound wore off.

hate to break it to you man...but there is no current knowledge on how to fix it. You can try to complain to Sony and beg for them to fix it for free but its most likely not going to happen. I even sent them a personal letter to their headquarters in CA with a response of "your pretty much screwed(they really didnt say this...but thats how i took it)" I just got mine fixed by sending it back to Sony for a $150 repair. You send it to somewhere in Texas. Took about 1 week to get it back

Actually, RROD is still a valid point. Failure rate still stands at 33% for 360 and 0.2% for the PS3 (I keep hearing those numbers over and over, so I don't think they are false). This guy here, sadly, happens to fall into the 0.2% Shit happens, but doesn't happen as often on the PS3.
I went over to my friend's house and while I was over there his PS3 did the same thing. His parents took it back so we played PS2 to pass the time. He got a replacement. THe replacement worked so we put in GTA 4 and had a good time with it.

1. Turn mains off
2. Hold eject and turn mains on.
3. The fan operates at its highest speed for about 15 seconds (should eject at start of this if not try again)

fuuccin shitty systems today i had a ps1 and i still got it working awsome today and it spent a couple nights outside my xbox 360's the shiit but i feel like and cant play the shiit outta it like ps1 one thats fuuckin sad

Lol, i have the same thing with my 60gig ps3.
It was caused off an electrial strom near by that destroyed my pc, ps3, 2x ruters,4 external hdd's off mine... i have insurence doh :D so i get back from that (22 000NOK )
