  • hey! this is Peter's song and video so Please stop all this negativity and judgement crap.I like this song very much and it means something to me/us and Peter does a wonderful job here. Stop bumming him and me out-ok?

  • I am american. Yet, because of my deep respect and admiration for both Scotland and the Scottish people, I too with pride, call myself a Scott! I hope I can live with the pride and respect that would honor both the people of Scotland and the memory of Sir William Wallace!

  • @klaatoons I am American too and I so agree with you .My ancestory is Scottish, Irish and English of Norman roots but I choose to focus on my Scottish heritage of which I am very proud. Cheerz to Scotland :)

  • Nice!

  • your song is understood and truly respected.

    Thank you.

  • makes me home sick aye i miss scotland

  • fantastic song and im english :)

  • a "humble Hello" from this lass in Colorado Springs, Colorado USA. I want to tell you your song here has touched my heart and soul-deeply. Peter, Your voice is "angelic" to me and Thank you so much for writing this and recording it. Beautiful song, voice and pictures! BTW, you live smack dab in the middle of my ancestoral homeland ya know! My maiden sir name is Denny-ring a bell? my ancestors fought with Wallace and Robert the Bruce (seperate centuries-tyvm) Cheers for this Crackin song! xxxx

  • @cocatwoman7 thank you for your kind comment and to be honest it's one of my favourites., but the one i really love is called 'Feel The Love' that I wrote and recorded in one day for a friend called Jullie Hannigan when she told ne how she first saw her future husband.

lLove and {{{hugs}}} from everyone here in Scotland.

    Peter xxxxxx

  • @cocatwoman7 Bruce and Wallace were around at the same time. And un less your Denny clan is from Ayrshire. They no doubt never had anything to do with any of them.Bruce fought with at Bannarkburn, with troops made up from KYLE,CARRICK,CUNNINGHAM.And that is from North and South Ayrshire.Where he had his lands. And Wallace was from East Ayrshire. And not from Renfrewshire, the Renfrewshire link is made from 60ties research. Before they found Libereck document, with his real Father,s name on it.

  • @legandrydirk ya heard of the Knights Templars & the Battle of Roslin? some French "de Denne/ Denny" Knights sailed into Scotland from France and literally helped Scotland in Bannockburn and Roslin. All Denny's and de Denne's (same bloodline) originated mostly from Normandy France. some settled in England after William the Conqueror, and some went to Ireland and Scotland too, mainly in the late 1200's and early 1300's. I can not find a "real" Clan Denny-guess there weren't many of us :(

  • @cocatwoman7 Roslin had nothing to do with Wallace or Bruce. It was fought bye Sir Simon Fraser.Wallace was supposed to have told him were to fight. He beat 3 English armies on horse back.Fraser met the same fate as Wallace from the English. The Templars were meant to have helped at Bannockburn, they came down the hill. When they battle was kind of even, and swung it.Others say it was squires and the cooks.Who had stayed behind,no one will ever know. But they do have a connection with Roslin chapel.

  • @legandrydirk correct, Wallace refused to fight or take part at Roslin thought he did offer advice. The Battle of Roslin was awesome! The terrain was definitely in Scotland's favor. Talk about an easy win times 3! I hope to visit Roslin one day and look down on the ravine where so many English fell to their deaths as well as the Chapel to see some Templar carvings. Makes me smile knowing the Templars helped Scotland WIN :)

  • @cocatwoman7 My Granny was a Wallace from Glasgow.I was born right next to were he was captured. The hospital is long gone now.So I might have some of his blood in me.But if you come to Scotland.Your best coming to Ayrshire. If you want to walk in his footsteps.Bruce was born down in Tunberry. There is a wee castle on the coast. Its called Portencross, his brother used it coming back from Ireland. Before going to his big Castle miles away.He invaded there to kick the English back home again.

  • @legandrydirk now that's some cool info! My Scottish ancestors came from the Dunbarton/Glasgow area and settled in southern New Jersey in the 1730's & I believe one "Denny" was a glass blower. Coincidentaly, the Denny Brothers Shipbuilders decended from the same line. I am very proud of that fact. The list of places everyone says I must visit is almost a mile long now. I'll need a couple of months just in Scotland alone! hope I win the lottery soon.......lol

  • @cocatwoman7 Monteeth the Knight that captured him.Was actually God Father to one of his kids. The weird thing is,that my Mums first husband was a Monteeth. For centuries later that family would be shunned. They would turn over a bannark of baily. When ever a Monteeth entered the room.He was captured at a house. There is a monument there. And also a place called the Wallace well in North Glasgow.Where he was meant to have hidden from the English.Near were he was captured with his friend brave Kerly.

  • @legandrydirk "turn over a bannark of baily"? please translate as that comment when way over my head ;) I will google the Wallace well. Crazy about the Monteeth connection!

  • @cocatwoman7 It was a biscuit,to soak up booze in the old taverns. So when it was turned over.It was the signal for a fight to erupt. Some say the English used it to trap him.But its no doubt legend. As he was found at a house. They killed his friend Kerly. And took Wallace to London.Kerly does not even make the film.Type in Wallace well,North Glasgow.Rob Royston. And you will be able to see, were I am talking about.Monteeth funny enough name comes up on declaration of Arbroath,so he was not all bad.

  • @legandrydirk I will google that right now-thanks. very touching and sad story :(

  • @cocatwoman7 They killed Kerly were he stood.Louden Hill is down in Ayrshire,in the east. Its the battle he lost his Father and Brother at.He ambushed lots of English long after it and killed them.Helped bye his cousins the Boyds, and a few other trusted rebels.Bruce also fought the English there years later. Its a good place to fight.if your up against cavalry.Yes if you come here.Ayrshire is easy to get to.Its only 20 mins away on the train from Glasgow. But if you can drive, you best rent a car.

  • @cocatwoman7 I take back the seperate century comment! I have educated myself since this 8 month old comment was made and learned ALOT about my ancestory as well. cheers :)

  • he just lived 35 years only. but he could change the world.
