Cool! What intervalometer did you use? If your camera has infrared, you or someone who want to try time-lapse photography, could use an infrared time-lapse remote like this one: tempus.bymac.org
I love time lapse clouds. Look very nice. I thought, a cam could be damaged when pointing at the sun - am i wrong? Some music would be nice - perhaps something like Jean-Michel Jarre. Take a look on my videos, too - i have 2 timelapse ones.
Funny how you can make HD content with digital cameras. Sweet. I like it. I have a D1x also. It still holds its own. People are unloading them for $400-$500 on eBay to get D300s or D3s thinking that it will improve their photography to a very noticeable degree.
Exactly that. Cheap Nikon remotes all have the plug, and the D1s are cheap enough to be consumable these days. You just need a 100ms closure to fire the shutter.
WONDERFULL

doesn't the sun permanently damage the sensor after shining on the same spot for so long?

for clouds, it's not long. About one frame every five to ten seconds, 1,300 frames.

I make all my own equipment. Intervalometers, motion control etc. I didn't mean to press the 'bad comment' thing by the way. Can't seem to undo it.

How are you interfacing a custom interval timer with a Nikon? pigtailed 10-pin plug?
I know the sun thing is not that big of an issue with a slr because the mirror 'protects' the sensor but still makes me nervous... ;-)
