Thank you, Just got an 03A3 and the bolt was loaded with old hard grease. I soaked it in mineral spirits and then followed your video for dissemble. I really cleaned every part and lightly greased with fresh grease before following your assembly video. The extractor and safety remove/replace went smoothly. This has made a big difference in bolt operation for my rifle. Gary
I inherited the Smith-Corona version of this weapon when my father-in-law passed away two years ago. I am still learning all of its intricacies. I put 20 rounds through it today, which is about as many as I have since I got it. While cleaning it tonight I brought up your video - very helpful. This is one of the most elegant, accurate, and precisely made weapons I have ever used.
I bought an 03A3 at a local gunshow without knowing anything about the rifle, how it works or how to disassemble it. Thanks to you, I was able to easily get that cruddy bolt stripped and cleaned and lubed. The bolt runs much more smoothly now. THANK YOU, JEFF!
So, I followed the video and it all seemed pretty straight forward, but then after putting the bolt back into the rifle it refused to fire. I pull the trigger and it does nothing. I feel like I must have missed something really obvious, but I'm at my wit's end with this thing... any ideas?
@tyrannischgott all I can say is maybe watch the video again carefully and follow all the steps exactly. You may not have the cocking piece rotated all the way. Does it cock/remain rearward? Can you pull backward on the cocking piece with the bolt closed and does the piece cock and stay rearward?
Good job. You seem quite knowledgeable with the 1903. I'd like to see you do a video with a full field strip and cleaning. I have a Smith-Corona 1903-A3.
@pcups Thanks for the comment. Mine's a Smith-Corona also. I'm not particularly knowledgeable, but I can usually figure things out by trial and error. :) I'll do a full field strip video sometime soon. Subscribe for future vids. 8-)

Great videos . It really helped with the care of my 1903 A1 and A3.
There is nothing like seeing it actually done after reading the manuals.
Thank you very much!

@Docenfield Thanks! I agree that seeing it done is more helpful than words/pictures. I'm a visual learner also.
