Great tutorial thanks for taking the time. Quick question, I use Suite Live, Reason 5 and Serato Scratch Live. What do I need to do in each program to have my settings still be the same when I switch from program to program? At the moment when I'm using Serato and all my midi controls are mapped, I'm good and can mix with joy. But then I close serato and open reason for a while, use that, and when I go back to Serato again everything is unmapped or funky. Please help and thanks for your time.

@andrewhinkle5831 Also if you happen to know, I bought my Akai Mini on Amazon "new", but I fear my program button may be defective. When I hold it down and press the keys to the far right, corresponding with programs 1-4, nothing happens. All other keys light up and work appropriately so I'm inclined to think it's not broken, but there's no registration card with my product. How do I register and or get technical support for this issue? Thank you so much for the help.

Finally got the pads mapped to the FPC and created a preset to keep from having to click "learn" everytime I open FL. At some point Ill map it to Abelton

someone please help how come i cant swich programs on my mpk when i use program change all it does is swich channels

hey, I use a presonus firebox and when I open the editor and choose an output I usually choose MPK Mini out of the other choices which are Microsoft Synthesizer, Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, and PreSonus Firebox Midi Out. Whenever I choose any of these options though, in the max window, this error pops up, "mid1: error -1 creating file." I don't know what's wrong.

@ChristianJGarrido TRY UNPLUGGING THE PRESONUS WHILE YOU ARE USING THE MPK MINI EDITOR. Edit your mini/save/close the editor/plug the presonus back in & play. Let me know if this helps.

thumbs up for a detailed turtorial, thumbs down that i barely can see whats going on in the editor, because of the distance of the camera from the laptop screen. otherwise good turtorial. i had some trouble with it, because i learn better when seeing it happen with my eyes. i'm not good with the hear what i say and learn.

@TheBlackWes What you are experiencing is called latency. You need to download the "asio4all" driver or purchase an external soundcard.

I can't get my mini to make any sounds. I'm on windows XP and I don't have the "USB AUDIO" option when you first start. I think this is the hang up. How do I get that option to appear?

@tschechiful do you have logitech webcam installed? Try uninstalling the logitec. Install the mini & download logitec's newest HD software from their site.

There are cheaper ones tho... just find the right 1 for you.
