@attykon Hmmm, you said you were dumb, and i was agreeing with you. Now you're getting mad at me for agreeing? Wow, you sure were right about being dumb, but i didnt think you were that fargone.
those SCBA's are pretty loud when you just let them ring, i remember one time i let one continue to get louder too see how loud it got, i regreted doing it because i needed to put on some earplugs to go turn it off and even then it was loud. so the lesson here is to not let them get there.
Geez, is the nearest FD 10 mies away? not to sound like an ass, but if you live in these areas where fire it takes the FD 10-15 minutes to arrive, then you better stock up on fire extinguishers or invest in a sprinkler system because by the time the FD gets there, your house is well beyond salvageable. And no im not dissing fire fighters here, just being realistic. My neighborhood has 2 fire stations only a couple blocks away, so fires in my area generally dont stand a chance unless its arson.
Some comments baffle me. Interior attack, on this house really? Did I miss half the video or something, I would have told my chief to shove it if he told me to go in the interior of this house.
@council43164 I agree with you on this one. We have 2 departments locally and on the bay doors you see "No attack is too aggressive" when your sitting in the engine. Well one of those departments had a house colapse last week on them when trying to make an interior attack on a fully involved structure. Luckly noone was hurt but sometimes there is too aggressive.
@R2BROOKLYN Risk a lot to save a lot, sure, but risk nothing to save nothing, which is clearly the case here. The inside of that house was untenable from the moment the video started.
@R2BROOKLYN In addition to what Zoidberg227 said, that was probably the closest (by distance) item burning to an exposure, so it was most important to get a knock on that before hitting the already totaled structure.
@R2BROOKLYN Make an interior attack on and a search of what? A structurally unstable structure that has no real possibility of containing tenable survivors? Sounds like a great idea. Also, if I was the fireman standing next to the burning car that has about a dozen things in it that could explode, I would put it out first to.
@R2BROOKLYN cars have gas...gas explodes...a few cars got set on fire outside my house as a kid...that was everyone's biggest concern that gas exploding.
@pepperannehanson Actually its a bigger threat if that gas tank is on empty because the fumes are more likely to cause an explosion. Lucky for me i live in a crack infested neighborhood where someone will steal a car and torch it in the alley behind my house and i get a front row seat. The tires will blow out long before the car would explode with gas in the tank.
@TheWaynelds two cars got set on fire in front of my house as a kid. The second time my dad saw it and got it out right away but the first time it was full on engulfed and you are right...the tires did blow. We were terrified about the gas though. Thank God it never blew up
@R2BROOKLYN If he didn't control the car fire it would have spread to the other car, and maybe even further. Control the fire from spreading before you attack the fire.
I drive by this place every day to school. They're just starting to rebuild.

if there is something for homeowners to learn from this...dont put a fence around your roadside yard

Because there was no way to save the interior and not puttin firemen at risk the just surround and drown easiest and fastest way to do it

Save the neighbors structures and surround and drown is the best attack for this fire type.

If you live in CALIFORNIA you see houses burning by the hundreds or thousands
every Fall not to mention the big Equakes.

why is the "fireman" concentrating on the car on fire ? why not make an interior attack, and maybe make a search ? brutal
