If u have the cone (back of sub) facing the front of the car u will get more hit and it will sound better. I've installed subwoofers for years and when I set it up like I described it sounds alot better, my s2000 has 2 10's in the center console, too loud for me but just a showcase

I need a good box to put one of these subs in an alero and I don't think the guys realize the first bunch of songs have bass around 30hz - 50hz or something like that they should play some young jock or pink Floyd numb with enhanced bass it's in my favorites those kind of songs will burn out subs :)

I recommend a box for that sub. Even if you like loose, flabby bass, you will probably enjoy it much more if it is a bit tighter and cleaner. It shouldn't be too hard to put one underneath.

What made you decide on this particular sub? Im considering this one as well....I'm also looking at JL's 10w0v2 and the MTX-TR7510. I only have 350 watts @ 2 ohms, although I know Alpine tends to underrate their amps slightly. (mine is a MRD-M301). Overall, are you satified w/ the P3? Thanks.

Just because you are running under the rated power of the speaker does not automatically mean that you are sending a square wave to the speaker and will fry it, it is only when you push your amp out of spec and try to send more power than it is supposed to send (turning up way loud). If giving a speaker less power than it is rated for burned them out you wouldn't be able to turn it down.

Firstly, I'm not 100% sure what you're talking about. I'm guessing you're referring to the soft top. If thats the case then you should have read where it says the soft top has been completely removed. I only have a hard top, nothing else.The sub never gets covered up, nothing ever touches.
