They really are not beautiful and as you can hear not quiet either. Do you realize how many trees have to be taken down to run electic lines, etc to the turbines. Supposively 44 trees are 'saved' by one turbine. We have 52 turbines where I live and thousands of trees cut down SO FAR to power them because they do NOT power themselves.
The noise you hear is the wind being picked-up by the microphone on my recorder, not the turbine itself. The blades are nearly silent, with only a slight "whoosh" sound.
I'd much rather cut trees for a powerline to renewable resource than a gas, coal or oil-fired power plant.
I'd also ask you check your source of information regarding the powering of turbines.
I have been working on wind turbines for 5 years and this is the stupidest thing I have ever head.I wish you douche bag would do some research before you start talking out you ass.Even my wife laughed after reading your stupid shit.
What a beautiful sight! I hope they install more... It sounds like a great location with all the wind and all. Talk about free energy! Keep it coming!
Nice job!! You got right up close to it! I should've tried harder, but I was on my way to a concert. I posted my vid as a reply. I hope you enjoy it!

the coolest thing is that is thunderstorms they attract a lot of lightning. its amazing to see electrical storms around these things!

If you think the turbines are ugly, you should see a coal-fired power plant, or better yet, a nuclear plant.

Soldiermom is nuts.
Wind energy is quiet, clean and endlessly renewable.
The U.S. is the Saudi Arabia of wind. It can solve our energy crisis.
That's why T. Boone Pickens is building the largest wind farm in the world in Texas.
Thanks for posting this video... a thing of beauty.
