The carnatic song in the beginning is one of the kalyana paadalgal songs sung by sudha ragunathan. It is a set of songs that explains all the rituals in a hindu marriage like the oonjal, nalangu etc. The song that you hear in the beginning is for the malai matrum ritual. Even Bombay sisters have rendered this kalyana paadalgal.
