One of my favorite thing about coheed videos on youtube is that there are RARELY dislikes. Its nice because a lot of bands get a lot of negative feedback. Its just nice to see such a community in music. :)
No matter who you are, whether you like Coheed, or (god-forbid) hate them. There is always one part of every song that makes you smile, or gives you chills.
i think that if claudio and travis switched to 11 gauge strings, their playing would sound tighter,. I think because they tune down a half step the tension of the strings is loose and their notes come out a bit sharp.
@thedroogful i think they wont ever do that... cuz we've been listening to their music for ages, and those tuning and string never failed to penetrate my ears throughout my soul!
@dapajaman im talking just the string gauge not the tuning, same tuning, thicker strings (which equals higher tension). less notes bending out of tune. wont make too much of a difference. its all good either way
FUCK im trying to put this song from the neverender thing and it keeps changing it to Time Consumer! I play it from zune, its definitely Junesong Provision but when i listen to it on my phone, its time consumer! WTF?!?!?!
...looking at these videos from the neverender concerts (uploaded by scstunner316, thanks by the way), i'd like to know who that 1 person is who clicked on the dislike button. pls tell me you just mistakenly pressed the thumbs down button.
Can't really decide on my favorite albums, nwft used to be my fab til I heard ga1, iksose3 is awesome, and yobr is cool cause on some songs it borrows inspiration from prize fighter inferno. Listen to chamberlain for a good example of this, its on the deluxe edition on iTunes!
i don't know what to do. i can't pick a favorite album! gosh. second stage is just so magical <3 in keeping secrets is epic. FFTEOM is bad ass. NWFT is catchy as hell, and YOTBR is all of the above. it's like a combo of all the greatest aspects of the previous.
@Shabutie97 I think they're all pretty equal. They're all amazing and they all write their parts to include the other instruments so well, it's ridiculous. Also, I don't think you're taking into account that he is singing. It's not always easy to sing and play at the same time, especially some of what he does. His voice alone gives him credit. He has a wide vocal range. Check out the Prize Fighter Inferno for more proof.
@tantruming That is why I specified individual instrument. I am not even sure who is better Travis has some strengths that Claudio does have... I have been a Coheed fan for 10 years I have heard the Prize Fighter.
@Shabutie97 You can't measure him by a specific instrument because he contributes more than that. You have to measure him by the whole, not a specific part.
@tantruming Jesus Christ, reading comprehension eludes you. I am talking about individual instrument ability. I know Sanchez is one of the best all-around musicians in the world today. On the other hand, Pennie is one of the best drummers alive, Mic Todd is one of the best bassists alive, Travis and Claudio are very good guitarists, but they are not as elite as the other two.
ive only herd the acoustic version, i knew this was out there, but i thought it would ruin it for me.... i think it's the opposite, this makes it way cooler.
I always get tingles when I listen to Coheed. Like, all over my brain. I think it's the beauriful music kicking all the shitty music out of my mind. I like it. :)
i think its because not only are they more proficient with instruments than most and the rock harder and have a better concept for their music but they are one of very few bands that can seriously convey emotion in their performance
you know, this band stands out from others because everyone is pretty much equally awesome. sure claudio might get more attention but he is the singer, but trav chris and mic do an awesome job. i love coheed.
of course clauds going to get a lot of attention, hes the frontman, and most people are still in awe about his hair and that he can sing the way he does. And i think people overlook how good mic and travis really are
@bobmcneal your damn right about that, mics my favorite bassist, claudios my favorite rythym guitarist/singer travis is my favorite lead and chris my favorite drummer, and im not just saying that cause coheeds my favorite band
@vidman520 He didn't get 'kicked out'. He chose to leave because of his addictions. Mic didn't get kicked out either, they both left to get their lives back together.
doesn't mean he didnt help make the band what it was today, he was a very innovative drummer and i actually rather listen to him then chris pennie, and im defintiely not the only one :)
@thisdayjustbelongedt You are seriuosly stupid. First off: Everyone in the band has a say.Second off: Songwriting and lyrics are very much the same in the sense you implied it (imo)
@osostewie obviously everyone has a say, but if you werent too dumb to read you would have seen i said MAIN songwriter meaning he does more than the rest of them but his say isnt final. and lyrics are completely different from songwriting. generally lyrics come last in the writing process so you can have bands like rush where geddy lee and alex lifeson are the song writers and then neil peart comes in and writes the lyrics
Well, I guess in some venues it's against the rules to crowd surf but it would be too much of a hassle to throw everyone of them out. Unless the guards are real douches, they aren't getting thrown out. Doubt Heed would let them anyway XD
@YouKilledAlan Unless it's different from every concert I've ever been to they grab you off of people then push you off to the side to go to the back.
i like his new sound its better than the old in ways. its easier to sing a long with, it wont fuck his voice up, and he can sing it without his voice scratching like what would happen quite a bit. but yet its still a pretty high tone.
hahaha i love how people argue over who likes a band more its quite funny. if anything you should get along cause i've found that not many people around me are into coheed. and i sure as hell am.
