  • there is no python that accepts captivity better, is more hardy... and easier to feed. Certainly, they require less expertise than most Antaresia and are more relaxed than the majority of Carpets.

but because they don't have heat pits, they have a very strong feeding response, which means that at night especially, when they think or know food is on offer they will try to eat anything that comes near them so basically not handling them at night or if you smell of rats etc is a smart move.

  • "they never refuse a meal" - you're right about that one!

lucky you didn't get a snappy one...

Once they have reached adult size I have never owned or seen a woma that wants to bite out of aggression or out of fear. All their bites are related to food. When handling them, as with many species of python, it is a good idea to wash your hands and arms with a strong smelling soap so that errors of mistaken identity are avoided.

  • clean your damn house!

  • WHY WOULD YOU BUY A SNAKE

  • Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww so cute!!!

    So beautiful, congrats dude. :)

  • His cage? You said the snake was female!

  • i started a site to network reptile owners, you can post pictures and videos. its showmyreptile com if you want to check it out.

  • Nice.

  • nice woma i myself have several and they never refuse a meal they eat abything and will chomp down on your hand or arm sometimes, mine do it all the time they just nub the head against your hand/arm and chomp, everything to them is food they dont strike its just a normal response to eat everything they think is food i also own several morelia spilotas and chondros soon to make some videos i have a album on Alex Hues reptile forum under chondro10 but womas are my fav and breed easy good luck bro

  • thats a ugly woma lol, so dark!

  • damn i think those thing are ugly :P might look a bit nicer when older

  • cute, how big is it now?

  • Shes jus a Babbbyyyyy!

    <33

  • HOW MANY RETIALS DO YOU HAVE

  • that is the most adorable snake i have ever seen! her eyes are so big!

  • thts a very dark woma aye!

    i love it!

  • Nice snake you got there.

  • I love womas :D

  • it might be small but it will still av your finger!!!

  • how much did this snake actually cost you ?

  • Hey nice python and I love your bumblebee ball python as well. Colors are fantastic on both of them :)

  • this is what made me want to get a woma! and i am happy to say that exactly a week ago yesterday i got my very own woma python! he is so tiny and cute and eats very oddly. he does not constrict his food and i dont get it. he just puts it in his mouth and then starts to swallow it. i dont get it. but anyways thanks for your video. it is what showed me what a woma is and made me investigate it more and eventually purchase one.

  • That is a quite common trait in Womas. This may be linked to their wild ecology. In the wild they eat reptiles such as skinks, small monitors, and snakes (for this reason they can NOT be kept together except during mating season due to canibalism) far more than they eat mammals. Usually they go down their burrow and crush the against a wall rather than constricting them. It may have something to do with this but not 100% certain. Hope this helps.

  • but don't, whatever you do, import jungle carpets or diamonds because they are happy and doing well in the wild.

  • All of my snakes I get are captive bred. No need to get any animals out of the wild if they are already established in captivity.

  • hey does illinois have to have a permit for any snake?

  • how much did u got her... and did u got her from an expo

  • arnt diamonds Venomous though?

  • These guys get big quick, a well fed Woma will reach 4.5 feet in a year easy be prepared. Great snakes from our great country!

  • @zaktan44 its illegal in australia too catch animals in the wild, these are captive bred animals, learn your shit

  • good job man, they are hard to find here in Australia.( stupid farmers and loggers clearing habitat) try and get a member of the opposite sex.

  • What size cage should i have for a woma python? and do u need a class one reptile license?

  • Most states will require a permit for one. An adult will need roughly a 40-55 gallon depending on how big it gets. Womas top out at anywhere in between 6-9 feet depending on their locale.

  • now all i gotta do is convince my dad to let me get one... although i would prolly start with a kenyan sand boa first. only problem is my dad doesnt care if i know how to take care of it or if i am responsible enough (he knows i am) he just wont let me get one cuz he dont like them

  • how much was it? it looks sortove rare, but i dont know shit, i only got a ball python..

    - smoke buddah everyday

  • They go for $300+. Adult females I have seen go for over $1500.

  • what is a mouse fuzzie and a hoper

  • a fuzzy mouse is slightly older and larger thn a pinkie mouse and a hoper i dont really kno it could be even larger thn a fuzzie

  • she's sleeping?

ps-i can tell you're very fond of snakes huh? :o

  • where do you get your snakes and stuff?

  • what does she eat as a baby

  • mouse fuzzies or hoppers

  • aww man you lucky son of a bitch lol take good care of her :)

  • is that the full size or baby size?

  • Baby. She will be 6-7 feet full grown.

  • do u still have it? lwt me tell u thats a beauty!

  • Of course I do :o)

    Thanks!

  • do u no wat newborn baby gardner snakes eat because mine hasnt eaten a thing yet

  • Is it wild caught or captive bred?

Wild caught you may never get to eat, but I would suggest trying small guppies or other small fish.

  • why not leave the snake in australia in the wild where it belongs, and not have a super life in your messy dirtball apartment.

wow!! suburban wild kingdom at its best.

goddam people are shitheads to wildlife in the world. i want a tiger! ok , u got the money, yup!! ok u can have one. get a life

  • Little do you know that most of these species, including tigers and Woma Pythons WILL be extinct in the wild one day. Without captive breeding they would become extinct all together.

Now that you have learned something for the day you go bitch on another video you know nothing about.

  • So its legal to have one even though they are on the verge of extinction?

  • I see what your saying but you could have said it a little nicer. With more class

  • BeeBee! snake

  • She is absolutely gorgeous!! i'm thinking about getting a new snake myself, but tis very hard to keep em over here:( i'll make do with my little corny for now

  • Beautiful snake!! i would like one but i am not allowed to have one my parents r dead scared of them and wouldnt have it ...... i enjoy ur vids keep it up and cant wait to see more updates on ur snakes!

  • i got a neww broooks king snake last sunday her name is queenie this aiant my file my name is ulooknfor me

  • i want a snake but my dsads afraid even of CORN SNAKE

  • haha, yeah my moms the same way. i used to keep garter snakes on the deck in aquariums during the summer cause they wernt allowed inside. catch em in the spring, give them the best fed summer of their little life then let em go in the fall. once you move out though, you can go crazy. thats what i did! got a female, three males (ball python breeding project for the fall) and rescued a boa. got big plans for the new apartment, vids to come. snakes are by far the best pets around.

  • Your dad's a little girl! You be the dad!

  • I have a question, since it seems like you know about snakes--my friend and I caught a snake in some bushes today, in Southern California, and I made a little video of her asking what kind she is. I thought she was a blind snake because of the blunted tail, but my subs think she's a rosy boa, would you mind looking and telling me what you think? She's in the video "Mystery Snake" on my channel, just skip to about halfway in. Thanks!

  • Well if I had to guess I would say Rosy Boa, but really I have never seen one that small so I could be wrong.

  • Okay, thanks :p

  • She's gorgeous!

They're supposed to be really docile snakes.

  • i live in australia :D

  • can u give me care info on 1 of these

  • I've been looking into getting one myself. There isn't much out there, as they haven't been in the pet trade for very long. I've been looking at what zoos have said regarding womas. It said they can endure hot and cold, wet and dry climates. -.-; That doesn't help much when you're trying to do cage set up, does it?

  • I set my Woma up so it's warm end is at about 88 and she is loving it and eating great. I use Sani-Chips and have 2 hides for her as well as a constant water supply. I have her humidity a little higher than my ball python. I used to have her in a 55 gallon, which of course was quite large for her (currently). Now I have her in my snake rack which is a 32 quart sweater box but will get her back in the 55 gallon once she doubles her current size.

  • wow, she looks awesome! how much did u pay for her?

  • You can find them, but they're not the cheapest of snakes. Still, they're affordable, depending on the breeder. I've seen some between 100 and 200 dollars. It depends on if you want a male or female too. female snakes cost more.

  • Pretty baby!!!

  • Hah, I work at LLL Reptile!

Which store did you purchase it from? Oceanside or Escondido? Or did you order it online?

  • I ordered her online in early July 2008. I did not realize that they had 2 retail stores, thought it was only one. Must be a pretty sweet job eh?

  • Yeah I love it! Things never get boring, everythings unpredictable, and our customers are great!

  • Comment removed

  • No. It was purchased from California.

  • @snakemadnesstv It is actually illegal in Australia to export ANY native animal! So if it did come from Australia your either a smuggler or you purchased a smuggled animal and thus supporting a very cruel practice. It would have been stuffed in either a coke bottle, a toilet roll or a pringles can among other things then hidden in the luggage without access to water or fresh air. Congratulations I hope your proud of yourself.

  • @sighrd Mate did i ever say i exported it? I am pretty sure i know the rules over here and keep all my animals on licence! How bout shut your face and go abuse someone else.

  • I was going to make an investment in a snake collection of my own, I've owned some rescenty but... It's been a while, I'm hoping to get a bermese, and 4 red tail boa's... How much do you pay monthly for eldectric bill? Heating lamps, pads's etc... Please reply, and I'm jealous also :P

  • Not really sure how much it is between the 4 I have, but I doubt it is anything significant.

  • Man a burmese python? Dang they're huge! oh and im talking to ChoconutBwownie

  • I leave all the snakes heating pads on at night. The Woma I do shut off her ceramic heater at night but she still has her under tank heater.

  • dude thats sweet

  • sweeet!!!! awesome pattern!...

  • how do you go about getting a python?

  • 1. Do you research

    2. Get your supplies

    3. Buy the snake VIA internet, pet store or private dealer if you know one.

  • beautiful snake!

  • i have a choice to get any snake exept venomous , im thnking of getting emrald tree boa , or boa constricor , can anyone else suggest a few cool snakes please

  • jungle carpet pythons are nice but a bit snappy as babys i have a video of one check it out sometime.

  • yea i found that out in pet shop im guna get 2 red tailed boas :D

  • A red tail would be cool. Just do plenty of reading on them first. I was also just going to say that emerald tree boa's are a high maintenance snake which require a very specific humidity and temperature level. Plus they are more prone to having a not so nice temperament. In other words: Not a good snake for a beginner.

  • yea i know im not a beginer but i kinda cannot be lookin after it 24 7 because i got school and stuff all day so i think i go with red tail :)

  • Cool. Never know who the beginners are and aren't. Many not experienced with snakes think they all get taken care of the same. You will have fun with your boa. Just make sure to spend plenty of time with it!

  • thanks nice woma you have there i think they look cornsnake like with a cool pettern think 2 red tails would be ok in a 80 gallon for a year or so ?

  • Not sure as I am not that familiar with multiple red tails in the same tank.

  • woah that one is wierd, but cool.. i have a ball python, just bought her 3 days ago

  • where do you get your reptiles? and other animals?

  • amazing new snake, the head looks kinda funny though=) how big do woma pythons get?

  • Snakes are so cool.

  • its a buite snake mate its a bute

  • Wow, beaut snake mate!

  • Absolutely gorgeous and so cute!! We had two of our Ball Pythons out last night...all four of us sitting on the couch watching TV! They are too cute!

  • how did you get interested in snakes

  • Steve Irwin and one of my friends who owns a few of the snakes on my channel (Blaze, Kieta, Natasha).

  • nice

  • hi how many snkaes do you have

  • yeah how many snakes do you have

  • Four

  • wow!!

  • hey you got a corn snake? cuz i wanna buy one. and the cage to. thanx xD

  • Nope never owned a corn snake.

  • oh thanx anyways! xD

  • I have a corn snake

  • wicked, can you tell me how big they get and what they eat? thanx

  • Um corn snakes can get to be at least six feet long and they eat pinkie mice a ages0-1 and fuzzies at 1-2 and then after that examen their torso and what ever size their torso is feed them a mosue that size also id recomend if your squemish to feed them prekilled mice but if your not its up to you to decide if itll eat live mice or prekilled mice

  • Just asking cause I kind of want a snake too

  • Not sure, and not going to try :oP

  • IF you wiggled a finger around it would it bite you?

  • Is it just me or dose she have really big eyes? Snakes are great pets, there really calming like owing a cat. I own a golden retriever myself, here in the near future a snake is on my list. What kind would you suggest thats would make a good "lap snake" highly social and dose not mind being held in the hand and petted a lot, plus get along well with other animals?

  • It's a marking around her eyes which makes her look bigger.

As far as what snake makes a good lap snake, I would suggest a ball python. But I do not suggest letting any snake getting near any other type of animal. It may not only stress out the other animal but can especially stress out the snake.

  • thats sweet lookin dude. yeah, luther my 5 foot redtail is sick with a viral infection

  • that's cool

  • nice girl :) congrats, i hope to pick up a b.c. longicauda at daytona.

  • WOW!!! Great snake, good for u!

  • dude im getting mine next week im so excited

  • Awesome! You gonna put any video's up?

  • how long do womas get and do they grow fast / also do they stay long and skiny or do they get thiker with age?

  • tiny!

  • Aww it's so cute =]

  • That is a really nice Woma, really like their markings!

  • nice woma i come from australia so i see them all the time one of the nicest looking womas i ever seen.

  • Awesome, you are very lucky!

  • Hope you feed it live.

  • I feed all of my snakes frozen unless they refuse it for a long period of time. Not as cool to watch I know, but it imposes a lot less risk on the snakes. I have nothing against those who do feed live, but in the end it is the owners decision.

  • dude Woma Pythons are so fuckin rad. i hecka want to get one too. i just recently added a ball python and a Sinaloan Milk to my collection. i have been meaning to put up videos but never have the time.

  • cool snake how much was she ????
