Youngones - Marie - Nice Early 60's Doo Wop Ballad

Outstanding! I never heard this song growing up in Maryland, and I was tuned into the radio from '54 on (when I started 1st grade). This song is almost an anachronishm, i.e., released in '63. It sounds late '50s. As far as I'm concerned, living in the day, rock 'n' roll, especially doo wop, changed by the end of '63, when the British invasion started. To me, "Marie" is the most doo woppish (if there's a phrase) for so late in the doo wop era (1963). Long live doo wop! Love it.

This is a record that amazes me.. It's from '63, but it sounds pure '58 to me.. It sure does have that Times Square type sound going on. It's rough edges are what make this beautiful to me
