to be fair the mac is good for professional media and audio stuff so I was wrong to say it was about showing off, windows seems to have all the aaa games on it like battlefield 3 and linux tends to be primarily used for mass server computing
the question one needs to ask is what they want from thier computer, each os has its own benefits and flaws none is "the best"
I am always transferring data between my phone and PC along with having my outlook email synched with my phone as long as I have a cell signal and whenever I feel like watching videos or just using a big screen I can hook my PC up to a tv
I personally am a Mac user, but I think Windows is just a better operating system. And these commercials are just an example. They only talk about how much the Mac is superior. I don't like to pick sides, but im glad I now have Windows on my Mac.

@thatscientificgeek those are idiots, there are way better reasons on choosing windows over mac os. 1: cost, for average users, mac cost way more than windows for similar, if not identical, specs. 2: both are pc, therefore none of them are completely crash-proof, virus-proof, getting-fucked-over-by-stupid-user proof etc... 3: if the user knows the most basic computing knowledge and follow common sense, the chance of getting virus and crashing the system is relatively low for both mac and windows
My family computer is a mac-- when my computer isn't available (scanning for viruses) and before I had my own, I use/used the mac. Personally, I prefer the PC, as it HAS a right-mouse click without having to set it up in settings, it doesn't need safari (doesn't even have a bar to type your website in), and I just find it nicer.(I mentioned that because of the OBNOXIOUS top comment that says people like me have only used a mac once)
PS: Who ever thought it was a good idea to have the window buttons on the left??? and the closing one on the inside??? and when you close it that way, IT'S NOT REALLY CLOSED! You have to close it with a drop down menu, a lot of extra work if you ask me. Can't delete directly, have to send to trash can always, and then delete the whole trash can, silly, and whoever said that macs don't fail, clearly hasn't used one, they fail less than prior versions of windows, but still fail. That's all folks!

No free software from a Mac does what the Adobe Master Collection CS5 does, or what Office does, I'd still have to buy them, and the only reason macs "don't get viruses" is because it's so unpopular, that programmers don't program viruses for it. Since mac applications don't share this base foundation, viruses can only exist in the program made for, thus rendering them unusable.

I've been working on Adobe Master Collection CS5 both on a PC and on a MAC at my university, and believe me... It's much easier and faster to work on Windows... Those commands on MACs are horrible, the keyboard shortcuts suck, the mouse moves so much slower and less precise, just awful, and only one mouse button and if you want to right click you have to press control while clicking, AWFUL! Oh yes, you can configure the mouse button, but I'm lazy and I'm not an administrator at my University.
i use my mac everyday, for tons of stuff. i cary it in my backpack for school, and i probably us more than 10 hours a day. i never turn it off, it's only on sleepmode. and yes, it does crash. once in a while i have so many programs running that it freezes. it doesn't happen very often, but it is a computer. my desktop pc however, i probably use about 10% of the time, yet i have had more problems with it. i´there's constantly something wrong, and it never really worked right.

Cost him half the price of the laptop itself for parts replacement. Couldn't replace the whole thing coz of the data or something (fanboi?). He uses it for Internet only. Never saw him do any other stuff on it. Me, on the other hand, never asked him for help on my pc. Never had to. I'm using my pc mainly for HD NLE.

@hey7328 both matter equally, because both depend on each other. your specs are useless if your OS doesn't take advantage of them, but your os is useless if your hardware isn't good enough. if hardware specs don't matter then windows is overall the best. but since hardware does matter, linux has the most advantages (as a whole).

well, actually life stuff is better on a windows... I know it, I have both systems... I never made a website or a photobook, but stuff like powerpoint, word or video editing... and it works better on the PC
pick and mac and buy any pc for that same price and you'll find that (in all of my cases) mac runs faster and more smooth. It is the os. Linux is even faster then 7. :/ i have windows 7 and linux. to be honest linux looks just as pretty as windows 7.
if you know what your doing you can put together a high spec pc for about 250£ but if you want the cheapest mac with shite processer and memory it will set you back 1500£ not much to argue about really apple products are poorly made and massively overpriced and overated by the rich morons who buy them

Well i bought a PC, don't know about USA but in Latvia its x8 cheaper. I installed and configured windows and all the staff i need in 2.5 hours. Now i have all i wanted music +i can use any player i want form i-net, some video-making with sony wegas, games. No problems at all. There was 0 roblems and 0 restarts or crashes in 4 mounths. Can't say any big reson of buying mac. CAN U TELL ME REASONS i just asking all mac users. Whats better about mac ?

well i own both as well and i have to agree that Windows is better for gaming but i don't care about gaming anyways and i really know how to use Windows (XP, Vista and 7) and i have tried my first mac now for 2 weeks and it is alot more userfriendly and you find files allot easier etc. for school, checking mail, browsing the web, playing some games like angrybirds (mac appstore), editing movies and editing pictures it's GREAT no doubt that mac is better at those things!

@gnabeel well you can do tow things either drag the window to you liking like with safari or in apps like mail iMovie, garageband iphoto etc and most other you just click the green plus at the top and it maximises to the size of the screen

@gnabeel umm no on most apps there is a slider in the corner you can drag the window to your size preference or in the major apps like in mail, iPhoto etc, hitting the green plus at the top maximises the window. I own 9 Macs so i know what I'm talking about you clearly know nothing discussion closed
@gnabeel I also recall several years back there was a free app for the Mac called right zoom a 2.5MB download and it allowed every app to maximise, but to be honest I prefer the default method just because it matches the web pages size in safari without massive empty spaces down the side

I've been working on Adobe Master Collection CS5 both on a PC and on a MAC at my university, and believe me... It's much easier and faster to work on Windows... Those commands on MACs are horrible, the keyboard shortcuts suck, the mouse moves so much slower and less precise, just awful, and only one mouse button and if you want to right click you have to press control while clicking, AWFUL! Oh yes, you can configure the mouse button, but I'm lazy and I'm not an administrator at my University.

i use my mac everyday, for tons of stuff. i cary it in my backpack for school, and i probably us more than 10 hours a day. i never turn it off, it's only on sleepmode. and yes, it does crash. once in a while i have so many programs running that it freezes. it doesn't happen very often, but it is a computer. my desktop pc however, i probably use about 10% of the time, yet i have had more problems with it. i´there's constantly something wrong, and it never really worked right.

Cost him half the price of the laptop itself for parts replacement. Couldn't replace the whole thing coz of the data or something (fanboi?). He uses it for Internet only. Never saw him do any other stuff on it. Me, on the other hand, never asked him for help on my pc. Never had to. I'm using my pc mainly for HD NLE.

Mac: 4gb DDR3 ram, Intel core i5 (2,53Ghz turboboost), 15 screen, nvidia geforce with 512 MB dedicated ram. 500GB hard drive = 16089 Dkr.
Pc: 8gb DDR3 ram, intel core i5 (2,6Ghz turboboost), 17 screen, Ati radeon HD 5650 with 1GB ram dedicated = 7500 Dkr.

Well i bought a PC, don't know about USA but in Latvia its x8 cheaper. I installed and configured windows and all the staff i need in 2.5 hours. Now i have all i wanted music +i can use any player i want form i-net, some video-making with sony wegas, games. No problems at all. There was 0 roblems and 0 restarts or crashes in 4 mounths. Can't say any big reson of buying mac. CAN U TELL ME REASONS i just asking all mac users. Whats better about mac ?

PC was going to say he had more powerful hardware, but what good is hardware when the software sucks and isn't easy to learn? None of them games I have listed have ever been compiled for mac, they are PC only, but there are several ways to run them, you can use bootcamp, works the cos native speed. intel Macs have been able to run windows apps at full speed for almost five years now LOL. Then you have the crossover method of a virtual machine. I know I'll never need to own a PC

@MolotovDaSkwerl why don't you do a youtube search "Crysis MacBook Pro Core i7" It plays games wonderfully according to the user his Crysis never drops less than 35FPS which is pretty impressive considering my mates Alienware PC struggles like crazy

alienwars cost about the same as mac's, however mac's typically have shitty hardware, and PC's that have equivilant hardware are usually 100 to 500 dollar's cheaper
mac's are no good for price vs performance
they're just a way to say im hipster/douche, and like to think i edit shit
mac's aren't bad, they're just not cost efficient
