Ian Gillan's voice isn't good nowdays, and so is Erics. But Mr. Big is for me the best rock band today, technically and from their songs. They combine melody and technique! Vocal harmonys like Queen and Beatles.

I don't think I've listened to 'Smoke On The Water' all the way through in 20 years (just one of those songs that as great as it is --- Freebird? --- just heard it too many times) but tha was incredible.
