Josh's Car Corner 2006 Pontiac GTO - Road Test Part 1

I was on the fence about getting a 2006 GTO that I saw at a dealership recently, and you have made me decide this is the way I want to go. I am coming from an Acura Integra and the world of FWD cars, and I will be happy to get back into RWD.

By the way, what part of Wisconsin are you in? I used to live in Fitchburg just south of Madison.

Enjoy your modern goat, the most powerfull GM Pontiac car ever badged with the GTO emblem, and because it may be the last, I'm sure it will go up in value...And don't worry about the body lines, I have a feeling they will come back into favor. And for those of you that say this is just not an American car, try to remember that GM is a Global company, and all GM North American rear wheel drive cars are born in Australia, even the new Camaro!

@roydolen Absolutely! And Holden is consdering a new Monaro based on the Camaro structure. We may also get the Commodore back as a Chevy. Fingers crossed!

@MurderByFluoride Well an automatic isn't going to be as good on the gas, they get 20-21 on the highway and 16 in town. They're much easier to get off the line quickly and drag race. I've seen bolt on modded A4 GTOs run high 12s on street tires pretty easily. The trade off is again the fuel economy and a little extra weight. If drag racing is your only interest for the car, you'd be better off with an A4.

@OldskoolGP that would be a good vid, especially if you did a comparison between the GTO and the G8. I know a lot of people on GTO forums are constantly wondering which is the better of the two so that would be a good car to test next!

i plan to get an o6 GTO when i come back home from this deployment thanks allot for the reviews your new tags seem to be working it wasnt hard at all to find just a word of advice maybe you could find more tags by checking frequently viewed videos you could probably steel some good one from them

@mrwill2211 Haha no, i already have driven around with a car full of people in in multiple cars, even in a modded 2008 civic si, i know its no gto but it still pulls pretty hard.. I did do some highway speeding. but im not one of those idot's. I am not gettting a car a sports car to show off, i am getting one because of my love of cars. I am not saying im not going to show off, but i know my limits

@mrwill2211 Iv already driven a GTO 6-peed ls2..... I said it pull pretty hard, a stock civic is is not shit, my mom malibu pulls harder than it. But with mods like headers, cold-air, exhaust, flash pro ext. It will put you back when u put ur foot down. If u never been in a si with these mods then u cant talk...

@CarJunk911 Then why don't you civic with those mods since you seem like you love it so much, there's been a lot of gto's in wreck lately and some involved fatalities. Since you haven't even had your first car you it would probably get civic or something before you get a gto.

im looking at buying a 2005 gto and i was wondering if you could tell me how it handles through corners? i have a lot of mountain roads that are curvy and would love to take a nice car down them at a decent speed
