I totally agree. People forget that there would be no Jag Panzer (i.e.) if it weren't for bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Manowar or Iron Maiden that paved the way by coming up with a new original sound. Most bands change because they "have been there did that" and are looking to try new original things. Sometimes they work and other times they bomb out. Musisicians are artists and an artist painting the same picture gets quite boring.

Ummm...last time I checked, Helloween were the forefathers of Power Metal, but like the previous person said, is classification really that important? IMO it's power-prog, leaning to the power side of the mix.
