  • @Ziggyztarz

My name is Greg. The first festival I went to was the fated Windsor Free in '74 when I was 15. I was at many festivals till '85 when I left the country. I drove Jenn and Magic Marks old truck, then I got a Jtype tipper and later a big yellow FG with an extended crewcab that I made. I also did up Belgian sally's bus in London. Where are Bender Dave, Gypsy Dave, Pikey Pete, Manic Mark, Little Chris, and so many others now?

  • @bluetipi Hi Greg, dya still go naked? I was part of that crowd for many many years, Phil the Beer+Lucy, Gwen Ruthy Jade and Pikey's daughter Amber. Bendy Dave, Rico, The Venusian, Scot Rose, Lurch, Vaggabondi, Jam and bro Loo, Tibetan Ukrain M Troupe, Mutants and so on and on. And of course our Tash! Glad your still alive we have lost so many of our older troups. Niky

  • What a beautiful set of photos thanks so much for posting! We had a 'cafe' called The Festering Kipper there for a couple of years, and seeing all the old waggons made me realise how much I miss it. Are there any festivals with even remotely the same vibe these days? If anyone knows of any and has their contact details, drop us a line as we are dying to play somewhere with proper atmosphere!

  • Try up North, they have a few Festivals up there now, which are more like the 'Old School' stuff. I spent a long time with 'The Peace Convoy' so you might have met me, I used to 'Lodge Keep' sometimes.

  • Hi Ziggystarz. Thanks for replying! I live up north now. Which festivals are you meaning specifically, and where can I get details? :-)

  • I C* Spider's & Pikey's Waggons, friends of mine....... I'll be at Woodhenge and Stonehenge this year, I hope, maybe I'll see you there.

  • The Venusian! I swapped a huge circular mirror off of him at Henge '84.. was very useful ;o)

  • ...especially seeing the Tibetan Ukrainian bus... woah!! And the tipee buses.... man I can hardly remember some of those events... tiny, perhaps 50 folk and all good people... life before raqve culture... the summers from 76-86 were THE best, am.... thanks again for the great photos... lots of hippy happy memories all round! Much love, Grumpy.
