A rotary engine is meant to burn oil. They run premix with 2 stroke oil, instead of burning engine oil like stock RX cars.

I thought there were all natural pre-mixes that arent bad to burn? How does mazda do it without premix?

@d1incharge there is an oil injection system that puts in a very small amount of the engine oil in the chamber.

why this engine makes very lot of smoke?

Rotary engines burn a small amount of oil. They are designed that way in order to preserve the apex seals. I guess that's why it is smoking.

i was there on the day watching it race at mallory park and the reason for the smoke was the engine running hot because they had a problem with a cooling fan which draws air through the engine......it was also the hottest day of the year...

but it makes already smoke at the beginning of the race. There are two or three passes in which it doesn't smoke, at the end of the video ita makes it again... ok i refuse to understand...:-)

That engine really makes a lot of emission.

They say that all the emission is one of the things that stands against that motor. Although' the Mazda RX-8 uses the same idea motor. If they can do it I guess NORTON can too.
