It is impossible to capture these objects accurately with any kind of recording device. Even high-powered binoculars will prove disappointing. The less gadgetry the more lucid the encounter.

notice the deer looking startled then run off. then you see the wide cone-shaped beam of light come down but not quite reach the ground. freaky and awesome!
