  • Dave has always owned the prettiest, most soothing voice for me. Even when he's rockin'. He's always settled me down into a nicer person, even when I shouldn't have been so kind.

  • I love it when he kicks that bush at 0:58!! David Bowie is a legend.... only he can make kicking plants a cool art form! My new years resolution is to start kicking shrubs and glancing into window panes whilst looking pleased with myself!

  • I'm in for the meeting,or festival!

    Let's do something!Really now.

  • this series was loosely based on his life in bromley -must have brought back memories for him.

  • Space Oddity´s reference at 3:25

  • Bilbo Baggins´ house at 0:52

  • His smile is so gooood!

  • the world can be vicious !!! even in the suburbs can be unkind !!! don't give up there are still some nice people out there !!!!! Shine on !!!! simply smile !!!! don't be down look up we are all under the same beautiful wonderous sky !!!!

  • I'M SPEECHLESS - THIS SONG IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF HIS BEST PIECES OF WORK!!!! THE GUITAR SOLO WAS OFF THE BLOODY CHAIN!!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!!!

  • @michelewalker28 Lenny Kravitz on guitar if my memory serves me.

  • @ryan101XD

Hi, just wanted to tell you that i am 19 and i love bowie music since i was 6. I had the same problem, i didnt knew nobody who liked him but i started to search on internet and i found a lot of fans and lovely person, and also my best friend, i found her this way. Maybe Bowie fan are not everywere but if you look for them that's an huge world of fans!!!

  • @antheaize

I want to believe in it. It's the very same here, I'm 20 and only discovered David Bowie recently, but I work hard to catch up with the big fans, but there is nobody around here :.....(

Help me to find his music and the fans!

  • @silenttransylvania us young bowie fans need to stick together, i don't know anyone who's a big fan like me and its a real shame :( i say lets have a huge get together where we'll meet people, listen and talk about DAVID BOWIE!

  • @Eggs4Eva I'm in ;)

  • @Eggs4Eva

Yay! Let's make a Bowie festival, like woodstock! If we make it in London or near maybe He would hear about it and hop in.....ok dreaming (slap the face). Or we can make a serenade, just do something, make him return! We can organise it till next summer so start to think about it. Let's make a party, let's dance (on the street). ;) Who's with me!

  • @silenttransylvania Glad some of the Younger crowd thinks, DB is cool, and a inovator the most influential artist, of the past 40 yrs, he has influnced all genres of rock. Glad U see this, however he has retired for certain from music, Its very sad.

  • @Eggs4Eva Where? To his birth place? :) Or New York, although it's kind of wet right now. That'd be so cool. Everyone I know thinks I'm crazy or doesn't get why I love his music so much or why I think he's so brilliant and cool. I loved this music video.

  • @Eggs4Eva yhh man, at the end of the day i always realize that I'm the only one into the classics xD

  • @Eggs4Eva i wat to be informed about this David Bowie festival!!! I need more people who listen to David Bowie!!! The only people i talk about David Bowie with are my teachers. DAVIDPALOOZA ALL THE WAY!!!! :D

  • zANE, zANE zANE, ouvre le chien??? Open the dog? More like this one please David....

  • @caxtonman But you know that this line is from his old song "All The Madmen" ?

  • Bickley.

  • Lenny Kravitz on guitar on this...seriously?????

  • one of bowie's best. seriously underrated album. i didn't even know there was a music video for this.

  • Lenny Craddock on guitar. Sorry, Lenny Kravitz.

  • Dave, that song was beautiful... I'm straight as a .44 shell, but You, Mick , Freddie and Elton made it so perfectly clear: Keep playing, so the rest of us get it, no matter how long it takes(I knew it at nine)... I'll be forty, come March, 7, 2011, and it pains me to hear a lady's lies... I tell 'em, ''The best way to get through to me is something Rocking, Poetic or Beautiful... If I ever fall in Love again(if ever) you'll get a note of thanks... Good Duke, you are.

  • Singing comes as easily as breathing to Bowie. Such a casual, hypnotic quality to his voice. Blimey!

  • Does it come from a film ?

  • @somedayLAsomedayGC It was a TV series and a book by Hanif Kureshi. 1993.

  • I really liked the series, the music is great.

  • I cant belive Sayid was in a music video with David Bowie.

its like the best of both worlds.

  • the guy on the bike is sayid??from lost??

  • i love the song...was the show any good??

  • @isa77410

    Zane Zane Zane

    Ouvre le Chien.

is the final line of the David Bowie song All the Madmen. You can find the song on the album The man who sold the world.

I think that Bowie wanted to show that this song is both lyricly and musicly based on that song. besides there are simularities between the series of Buddha of Suburbia and this song and the album

  • I love this song. Has anyone got a clue about "Ouvrez le chien" ? I thought it could be a reference to the film "Un Chien Andalou" which David particularly likes. Has he ever given any explanation himself about this line ?

  • Comment removed

  • @isa77410 It translates as "Open The Dog", oddly. It was also used in big letters as a back drop on his "Outside" tour - UK shows, anyway, in 1995.

  • i grew up not far from st matthews drive - it isn't a typical looking street around there.

  • is that kumar?

  • sayid!!!

  • cant believe they didnt use this song for sayids death in the flash sideways universe :(

  • One of Mr Bowie's best songs imho.

  • Funny, the series exterior scenes were shot around where I grew up in Nth London and the vid. where I later lived with my own family, in Wiltshire.

Does anyone else hear the "All the Madmen" repeat to fade line at the end from his '69 album "The man who sold the World"?

  • @pignatan

The bunglaow lined cul-de-sac Bowie is filmed in is St Matthews Drive Bromley, Look it up on google street view. The church he is stood outside is just over the road from the cul-de-sac. My father in law goes there! Some of the series was filmed around here too, Crystal place Park, Penge East station, the 3 tuns Beckenham..

  • Who would've thought the Buddha of Suburbia was Sayid!?

  • Ha ha ha. I thought I was the only LOST fan here.

  • hey greendays an awesome band, not as talented or good as david bowie but there ok, im just making a comparison, be more open zippit89

  • I know you were making a comparison, but at least do it with a better band ;[

  • ok, how many others bands have songs called jesus of suburbia

  • @zipppit89 I don't think anyone should try making comparisons. It's David Bowie...how do you touch that?
