I get that everybody wants actors at the same age as in the book, but imagine to learn these battle skills to twelve year olds.. And when the actors are older, there is much more room for more action for example with the hydra..

Don't get this...huge fan of this series...but, why 25 year old and 18 year old actors?? Harry Potter picked actors that aged with the films...and, 8 films later it was an amazing ride...so it can be done. You can't just "get over" something that crucial to a storyline...Percy was 12.. for a reason at the start of the story.

The movie ruined the book. I mean, the actors were great, but the movie disappointed me! They left out all the good parts, and for example, how is the other movies going to turn out? There's no Clarisse, so whose going to defeat the drakon in the 5th book? And Luke works for Kronos, not himself, so what about the rest of the movies? Unless they can find a director thats actually good for the job, Chris Columbus ruined the 1st movie and that will ruin the other movies.

i havent seen the movie but i read the books. if they dont have Clarisse then they can't make the sea of monsters because she's one of the main charecters in the book, they also need tyson and at the very very end they would need to find someone badass enough to play thalia cause the main point in the second book is saving her tree! and they should have already put in thalia for the little tiny part in the book when thalia is in percy's dream during the lightning thief!

If they had stuck to the book it would have been AWESOME!!! Although a few lines that they made were funny like the "Mmmhmm, Yeah. Your going to out smart Hades?" was a line I liked! But don't you think that it would've been more exciting to have the hellhound in the capture the flag thingy? And for them to /NOT/ know who his father was and for there to /ACTAULLY/ be cabins??? i havent seen the movie but i read the books. if they dont have Clarisse then they can't make the sea of monsters because she's one of the main charecters in the book, they also need tyson and at the very very end they would need to find someone badass enough to play thalia cause the main point in the second book is saving her tree! and they should have already put in thalia for the little tiny part in the book when thalia is in percy's dream during the lightning thief!

@Theevilestangel97 they don't have her, Ares, Kronos, or Hermes! Not to mention they got Annabeth, Hades and Luke's charater wrong! I was ready to be dissapointed so I wasn't too angry about that. But they changed how they got the pearls and Luke and Percy have a fight in the sky with the flying shoes which Grover are supose to wear... *sigh* Hollywood...it was the same problem with the Last Airbender movie.

@saraboricua21 OMG Ikr??? I got the Blu Ray today and DVD. The blu ray has more deleted scenes than the DVD version and they actually took out some scenes that explained somethings from the book!!! Like when Grover was talking about Thalia and when Annabeth says you drool when you sleep. I mean why'd they have to take that out??? Grrr... LOL

@wolfycatlover38 It's not only the hair diffrence but the way she acted. Annabeth, in the book, acts a lot like Herminie from Harry Potter. In the movie, she looked like Drew Barrymore in some cheesy stupid romantic comedy. It annoyed me.
Annabeth is suppose to be interesting not like any other girl on TV.

The only reason I actually like the movie is because it is SO different from the books that it doesn't bother me. Don't get me wrong, I've read the entire series and they are my top 5 books or all time. So I'm NOT saying the books are bad, I'm saying the screen writers went SO astray that I wasn't exoecting much from the begining.
But Logan Lerman is a hottie so.... xD
And the actress who plays Annabeth is a good actress, but they ruined Annabeth in the movie. =P

THEY TOTALLY TURNED ANNABETH INTO A FRIGGIN GIRLY GIRL! Never would the REAL Annabeth EVER jump up and down and go "Yeah Percyy!" when he got the pearl! She couldn't fight, she couldn't act, she didn't know what to do with herself on screen and her eyes seems really unfocused. I was NOT impressed with this movie, and Annabeth was my altime fvoe character of ever and now the messed her up. Congragulation guys, you f****ed her up.
