  • Always thought David Gedge was/is a genius : )

  • the song that got me hooked, was it the B side of Once more? anyhow fond memories!

  • I'm an American who was lucky enough to play this record at Ealing College (now called something else) when I spent a winter in London in 88-89. Great gig and the campus pub was, um, very convenient. Long live the Weddoes.

  • Bloody hell 1985............thanks Indie Annie

  • OUTSTANDING !! .. still the best band ever. ( i think)

  • still one of my favourite bands of all time.my other 2 are the smiths and joy division.this song has the best guitar intro ever.

  • Love how one of the bass strings is slightly out of tune, you'd think that would spoil it but strangely I find it actually adds a certain something to the song.

  • in a weird sort of way i think this is my favourite wedding present song. i really love how the messiness resolves so nicely into that coda at 3:17 and it suddenly sounds so much like he means it.

  • Awesome wall of guitar.

  • ah what an intro, I remember learning to play this as a boy, on an mbira (thumb piano) instead of the guitar :D

  • Used to listen to this on the bus to Hanley....Gedge will play gigs anywhere, quality. Thanks.

  • I had several crates of free Becks lager, summer 1991. Spent most of the time in the Darlo bedsit, drinking it, and listening to "Tommy".

  • I was at school when I first heard this. Songs like this shaped me. It gave my great pleasure that this was on the set list this year.
