All the shows made by Mercury and Caballé were without any playback. We couldn´t enjoy Freddi's voice in 1992, on the opening ceremony of the games because he died in 1991. But in 1988 he can sing perfectly.
as a soprano Caballè could give so much more, 4:20 to 4:22 the black girls of the chorus hit the highest note while she was singing "for your fire".. i'm so disappointed.. they could chose a younger soprano who could still hit higher notes. Freedy's voice is so powerful here, I love when he roars a bit in the running :)
@gordiam Montserrat Caballé is only comparable, as a soprano, to Maria Callas. Her especiallities in opera are opera vera and bel canto, this is something that very few sopranos can say. In 1987 and 1988 Caballé was on the Top of her career, this is not a problem of being old. She has one of the best pianíssimo tone which flows like a feather in the air. People all over the world (people who knows a lot much than you and I about opera) is totally blewed up with this woman´s voice.

Cantano in playback!Guardateli bene!Gli strumentisti si vedono poco,la cantante lirica dovrebbe avere la lingua che vibra in base alle parole che dice.Freddie nn mostra un minimo segno di sforzo quando canta,cantera' sottovoce,ma nn si sta sgolando.Certi sforzi porta a seccare la gola,andate a vedere Wembley '86 cosa fa Freddie quando si sgola,si passa la lingua sulle labbra.Provate voi a fare quei toni di voce e sentirete la gola che..chiede aiuto.Ma poi i 2 nn hanno un microfono davanti.
I know this is hard to believe but Freddie was very ill that's why it's a playback. He told Caballe he caught a virus and soon it will be no more. He was a brave man but his love of performing was too great. This performance night was the last time Freddie appeared on stage.

@Belinotenace The only time Queen would use a playback was when they sung bohemian rhapsody (since they would need a pretty good amount of people to help them out on a part of the song).
