Sherlock will never be in a relationship. It just wouldnt work. Even if he does have feelings for people in the show, i dont think its possible for him to be serious about anybody. Akthough he could have a "fling" with irene or molly, it wouldnt be emotional and definately not long lasting. I also think he has some form of love for john but i dont think its romantic. Its much more complicated than that.

This scene reminds me of Jane Eyre. When Rochester asks Jane what she do if everyone turned away from him andshe says that she wouldn't care and she'd do all she could to comfort him. Even when she doesn't think he cares about her she would still do anything for him. Molly is just like Jane Eyre and I love her.

I've seen this a lot of times and something just doesn't fit.I have the impression that Sherlock has somehow tricked Molly into helping him like he he's done in the past.When he says "If I wasn't everything you think I am would you still want to help me" it sounds like "I may turn out to be something you don't like and then you wouldn't want to help me".Why would he ask John to tell all his friends including Molly that he's a fake if he had already told her his plans?Just to protect her??

I like the fact there's a kind of role reversal here. Usually Sherlock has contempt for considerations of peoples' 'feelings' and is only interested in what's 'important', but here he's the one concerned with feelings, asking her if she wants to help him if he's not what she thought he was, whereas she's to the point about what's important: what do you need. I think it kind of empowers her and is a nice touch as it shows him vulnerable.

Something to think about. If Sherlock had been nicer to Molly, especially during that meeting with her boyfriend, Moriarty would have considered her one of Sherlock's friends and tagged a sniper on her during the final confrontation (remember he says he'll kill Watson, Mrs Hudson and Lestrade but that's all) and she probably wouldn't be able to help him. If Molly did have a part to play in Sherlock's fake death, then that's some epic foresight by the writers.

The relationship(platonic at this time) development of these two is so breath taking. John he clicked with instantly. Lastrade he has a somewhat friend and trust level... but Molly. To go from dismissing her almost completely in the first episode.... to.. needing her to save his life, and the life of his other friends. The tremble when he says 'you' Like it almost hurt that he didn't see her before. He hid his pain from everyone, but it was Molly who saw it..I think that means something to him.
