Is disagree that there is plenty of oil. When the economy was running full steam back in 2008 is when the price peaked at 100 per barrel, the limitation on oil production is acting as a constraint upon the economy that we aren't seeing because of the recession.
I do agree about war being a factor and I know when it will happen, the moment the US quits controlling Iraqi airspace and the IDF is free to attack. The Israeli's cannot allow Iran to continue development of a nuke, under a madman.
Simmons makes some compelling arguments in Twilight in the Desert. He's a longtime petroleum engineer and has about as much experience in the industry as anyone. Do you honestly think you know more about the situation than him?

Well 'IF' unemployment does that get that high, maybe we should just build a couple of pyraminds for yucks, I got the perfect block all picked out, been thininig about this for a while.
Why doesn't every corporation just go on the news and say things are looking fantastic. Then the Dow will go back to 14 thousand+ and the recession will be over. You never heard anything like Intel has order of 200 mil new chips a month from HP and Dell which boosted profits. Its all just crap information. Its kinda like when you like a girl but she doesnt like you. But every time she bumps into you or looks your way you think you got a chance.
Mot I was wondering if nationalized healthcare comes and people are starving. Can someone go to the hospital to get a meal? Starvation does = sickness doesn't it?
There should be an audit of the FED. As Ron Paul has said, if it goes through there could be many connections revealed (IMF, World Bank, etc). I hear that Barnie Frank and Nanci Pelosi are holding it up. Write to your senator and the major news stations to cover this. Turn up the heat!!
DOW up 550 points in 4 days. OMG is this getting crazy. I guess they have some stuff to get done before the Oct crash. I would love to be able to audit those trades made and find out who is running up the market.
Cali's bonds are downgraded to 2 steps above junk bonds. Their pension funds are now trying to sue rating agencies for losing them over $1B. There are 4-5 states that are just behind CA.
Intel is pumping propaganda to boost cash reserves. Stock market doesn't look at numbers anymore just soap box BS. Goldman Sucks claiming taxpayer bailouts as profits. Meanwhile real estate is starting to infect into an even more nasty little wound in our side. Dont get fooled, I honestly think we are going to hit a short period of really blind optimism. People who dont have jobs usually dont invest so the jobless will be irrelevant, But at least they will have healthcare
First of all thank u vision. 2nd YT has been censoring truth videos for awhile. Try going on forerunner777 and his vids about the rfid chip, Pope's new encyclical and swine flu bullshit has been deleted. Try typing in a comment and u have to wait 2 b approved. They are censoring things u should know. Watch his latest videos on this and u will c the counter is screwing that page. That is the most important things on YT right now. Try putting a comment in his vids and it WILL not show.
By mid 2010 that unemployment number will have raised past 30% at the rate it is going. There is going to be a point of time where it is going to shoot up many percentage points almost all at once. I am hearing figures of over 45% as the deficit increases and production is non-existent. the US Economy is much like a car battery without a generator, slowly going dead until the lights go out.
That may be true but I see no reason "not" to believe it. 15 percentage points is not very much from the 13.5 % today. California is bankrupt! and what ever businesses are still a float can not get loans to stay that way so in this case I don't see why 30 to 40% unemployment in a year or so is so hard to believe. Just based on the math it jumped 4.2 % since Jan 2009. If you figure 4.2 % every 5 months we are looking at August 2010 unemployment will be at 26.1 % cont...
2. Of course this is based on a steady rise of 4.2% and in my opinion some Q's will be much worse especially with the forecasts we have been hearing from the Dept of Labor. My original comment was not only based on what I read but recent economic history and past unemployment figures which you can find at "Forbes Layoff Tracker" (Google it).
I cant see why you feel 30% mid to late 2010 is so hard to believe. What info do you have to the contrary that is going to pull them out of this downward spiral or the rest or the country for that matter. What is going to prevent this from happening ??
SendinK9 - You are making an assumption that is pure conjecture. At this time, nobody is in any position to give an accurante estimate as to what the final 'high' percentage of unemployment will be at the worst stage, probably early next year. Venturing to guess and elaborate is a waste of time. I do not believe it will be nearly as bad as what you suggest is possible. Maybe in isolated areas, yes, but as a whole average percentage, no.
Ok, I see your point but just for the record my estimate was just that an "an estimate" and its accuracy may certainly have some wide margins. Like I said it was based on the recent past history, the forward predictions of economists and the records from the Labor Dept. also I am talking about California and I will say it certainly doesn't look good so far and seems to be getting progressively worse. Another 300 thousand homes went into foreclosure today. cont...
I do feel the dollar will collapse which means havoc on employment and anything else in its wake. We will all certainly be dealing in localized economies sooner or later in our home towns. cont...
It is true, nobody can really say what is going to happen and when, however there is enough evidence out there that I feel these assumption can safely be made with fairly close estimates. Honestly can anyone tell me what is going to turn this thing around?! Its not the bailouts, certainly I hope people are smart enough to know they are not going to work and thus far has not. So does anyone have any answers... I certainly don't.
Simons been wondering if all humanity where to become enlightened, (this bozo typing relaizing he to must have something blocking a bit of his vision) but if all humanity, including those whose power is askew on the high side, where to realize the waste of the excessive indiscretionary ways of the affluent, (whatever that means), but economics is complicated and even waste creates. Would it be possible to mitigated the times that seem to be coming up. Wondering......
Lindsey Williams told the WORLD and the Inet back in July of last year oil was going to 50 and would stay there for about a year... then INFLATION IS GOING TO ROCK THE TOP OF COMMODITIES IN GENERAL and the buck was going into the toilet certainly as a world reserve currnency by March of next year..
Manotruth.. you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT IN YOUR COMPLETE ASSESMENT
u could not be MORE CORRECT
But check out the year old videos on Lindsey Williams and oil going to 50. even says who told him..
Have been watching your vids since the Crash, they have been conforting since then...along with comments by most...Peak Oil is a matter- in Texas at least,is how deep for how much $...to a point, when under ground temp.rises to point that gases only exist-nat. gas...WE DO HAVE NAT GAS FOR 100YEARS FOR REAL IN THE BARNET,HAYNESVILLE AND OTHER SHALE BODIES IN U.S.BUT TO GET IT UP- COSTS ABOUT 7-8$ MCF SAMPLE DRILLING IS GOING ON NOW,TO ESTABLISH EXACT SIZE-HAYNESVILLE LOOKS TO BE BIGGER THAN THOUGHT
Yep, It looks like Chesapeake is not going to honor a lot of the drilling contracts they signed a year ago, unless NG decides to go up about $5. There is still a little drilling going on in the HAynesville, but not much. Which means everyone will be able to re lease their land in another 8-10 months.
I agree that its going to be because of war, but I'm not so sure it's going to be Iran. We could see N. Korea invade S. Korea in the near future. There's a lot of posturing there. China could along for the ride with N. Korea just so they could take back Taiwan... Your statement about wars and rumors of war is certainly true. There's an amazing amount of hot spots popping up all over the globe.
Did you ever notice the people that complain and criticise all the time NEVER have thier own videos posted on thier channel. If they are so knowledgeable then why don't they post thier own videos?? Nope, most of the troublemakers don't have the intelligence or nerve enough to do so. Most of them are blabbering idiots and their only goal in life is to criticise everyone else for something they don't even have the balls to do. Critics by day, idiots by nature...
I have over 10,000 people that watch my videos. Chill. I know you are important, but I am in touch with a few people and there are a couple things going on in the world. The truth is not in you.
Romans 3-24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 3-25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Perception is key. We co-create our world view in cooperation with a higher authority; what that is can only be perceived subjectively. Following the market is like driving while looking in the rear view mirror; no real chance to intuit the future, really, for trends are also co-created-- by collective perception. Thoughts become things.
"Blinded by self-importance.... the visionaries of society haven't the vision of a blind musician nor the perception of a churchmouse_"
Perception is key to transformational marxists who by creating constant "change" and group "consensus" are herding the people toward accepting complete control of the state.
The universe is about change; this is a universal truth. Followers need leaders. Since truth is found within, and each person is responsible to seek this inner authority, then the herd deserves what it gets. Freedom has always been and always will be available to those who seek it with determination and risk. All people cannot know freedom, for a free wo/man has no servants.
Though you removed your reply I disagree that " truth is found within, and each person is responsible to seek this inner authority. " Truth my friend only is known through an understanding of God and who God is. To know truth is to recognize God as the sovereign authority.
Both God and His word do not change, they remain constant. The scriptures are as true today as they were when they were written. There is no "universal truth that the universe is about change. "
The transformational marxists love change. As long as society as a whole believes in God, follows the bible and keeps itself in check admonishing one another, there is no need for the state to surveil the people. No, what happens is the people keep the state in check! What the marxists have done is attack God and moral absolutes so they can come in and usurp the power from God. It is the same usurpation that Jesus rebuked in his parable of the tenants Matthew 21:33-46.
I bet that is why Goldman Sachs leasted an oil tanker, fileed it with oil and have it parked for a future date. Maybe it will be the oil they need to Heat thier own building in winter time?
The sense of using oil depends on its cost. If extracting it becomes to expensive (which is soon) then your combustion engine gets serious competition from any electric engine, and alternative enrgy like solar will bring better returns..Saying oil is plentifull but extraction will become more difficult is like saying there is not enough gold to match the dollars. It is evidence of ignorance..
Peak oil most likely occurred in 2005. Only the fact that they add natural gas liquids into the data has given a very slight increase up to the 2008 peak in total liquids.
MOT, I agree that Israel wants to take out Iranian nuclear capability ASAP. In this event, I try to look at the options from the Iranian side. If they send missiles towards Israel, they will be shot out of the sky and Israel will retaliate in force while touting vindication. Another option is to attack Saudi's Ras Tanura pumping station where over 90% of SA oil is pumped onto tankers going through the Straits of Hormuz.
Ras Tanura is a short missile shot from Iran and would light up easily. This would take out over 10% of worldwide daily oil production from the market by keeping SA oil in the ground with no destination where it could be put onto tankers. Instant market chaos would descend. Iran could threaten to attack their own oil production to make markets worse. I would bet China would come to Iran's aid because they will need Iranian oil and protect shipment of it.
Russia could get into the mix and demand no further attacks on Iran. They could coerce west Europe with the threat another cold winter. In the end, this scenario has some upside for Iran. They might be able to stand down Israel and the US. Certainily, there would be a decade of chaos, but the threat of this scenario would hopefully prevent the initia attack on Iran in the first place. The last though is just wishful hoping on my part.
MOT, if Iran is attacked first, their attacking the Straits would likely draw the US into some level of conflict. Oil prices would shoot up, but once the conflict was over and the straits secured, oil would flow through right away. If instead, the scenario I laid out plays and Saudi oil infrastructure were destroyed, Western nations would have to think real hard because oil supplies, and very high oil prices, would be affected much further into the future.
reality check oul will never go that high,, why,,put religioun and other aside ,,
if people cant but oil and theres plantty of it ut there like u say ,, and the oil co,, made there money of of it now ,, people just wont be able to aford it ,,and if will kill the US and other economies ,, so the oil co know what they are doing u think Iran leaders control the oil ,, no way they and all the rest love the money to much ,, MOT u mast have bought some oil related srocks and now cant sell
Excellent video, congratulations. I believe you and Matt Simmons are both right: I believe it will be a combination of the two. Peak oil will drive up prices sooner rather than later. In the meantime, war will do the trick. We invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. Guess who's in between? Who is surrounded? Guess who's next? No military strategy expertise needed there. What surprises me is that it has not already happened. I was expecting it five years ago.
The Cap and Trade will destroy the US economy but create another bubble (in trading these caps by Goldman and JP Morgan). The goal IMHO is to bring the west down and build up the 3rd world (thus creating another bubble to exploit). It's all a game run by TPTB at our expense.
medvedev just unveiled a world currency at the g-8 summit. satan and its minions are making their move. all major world leaders are just puppets installed. its a massive spider web.
I think the Obama administration is more powerful than you give them credit for. The trillions they set aside for the bailouts with revitalizing government and politicians is evidence of this. There won't be war and if anything oil will stay at a balanced price or head down, but perhaps only so far as to compliment some green energy initiatives.

MOT I think you are dead on about what would happen to the price of oil if Iran was attacked. Due to the extreme oil shock the world would experience, I do not believe the US will allow Israel to attack Iran.
I think gold is a safer bet for futures market speculation than CL. There is currently a 2 million barrel excess daily production of crude oil. This is a gigantic imbalance of historic proportions. Personally I think $20 crude in the near future is much more likely than $200.
Yeah, $20 per barrel may happen, but that 2 million barrels excess supply will get gobbled up real fast, especially when China and India get their economies going. The world uses, now , about 83mbpd, and their are billions of Chinese and Indians who want the same life we have. Oil is like a crouching tiger waiting to pounce, regardless of War, which would make it even worse. S &D are SEVERELY out of balance. That and a falling dollar will cause confict. $200 dpb in 2-3 yrs., maybe sooner!
After 4,300+ of our men have been killed in Iraq and after all our troops leave what will we have, Giant Iraq invasion by Iran and infighting in Iraq of the likes we have never seen. This possibility is real.
Iran has been infiltrating Iraq from day one of our invasion.
Bottomline... we spent billions of dollars and thousands of our men killed and 31M+ wounded for what?
You guessed it, nothing will have changed after we leave.
I wonder if Iran would really have to invade Iraq ...or simply influence Iraq's "democratic" elections to favor shiite control of Iraq.
"Since the collapse of Saddam Husseins regime, Iran has methodically built and strengthened its military, political and religious influence in Iraq. Irans Revolutionary Guard has extensively infiltrated Iraqs Ministry of the Interior and police force, both mainstays of Shiite power."
[ Steven Simon - Adjunct Senior Fellow for Middle Eastern Studies}
I am following the Green Party Revolution for freedom on my channel. It is happening right now and there are many within Iran who want Ahmadinijah voted out/ousted.
However, Ahmadinijah and the Khomeni have pretty much established military rule over the populace. Dissidents are imprisoned and foreign press were kicked out of Iran. Now, the only news we get from Iran are Iranians and their cell phone videos - which get posted on youtube. Revolution takes a long time - probably too late.
An average of about 15 tankers carrying 16.5 to 17 million barrels of crude oil normally pass through the strait every day, making it one of the world's most strategically important choke points. This represents 40% of the world's seaborne oil shipments, and 20% of all world shipments.
Could Iran's Revolutionary Guard take control of this area - and cause war? (They already promised to shut it down - if they were attacked by anyone.)
1) War (definitely a reason I forgot about) thank you. 2) Peak Oil (longer term) 3) Dollar destruction or loosing reserve currency status thus crashing the dollar in panic.
With those odds you have to own Oil ETF's. I also trade futures but I'm waiting for this final deflationary scare to knock Oil to a low over the next 2-4 weeks to take new long positions.
Forgive me for not reading all comments before I ask this question: Who do you think will attack Iran? (Israel?)
And, just as all commodities are going down(natural gas, silver, gold) with this deflation outlook of today - then, when oil goes to $200, won't all commodities also rise accordingly? (including wheat, corn etc.)
China is producing several families of tactical guided missiles, primarily for the anti-ship role, that appear to have been designed and developed for a single export customer - Iran.
According to an insider in the Chinese Nuclear Industry Department, all relevant nuclear techniques and technical trainings of the North Koreans have been provided and conducted by the CCP.
He says deflation short term and inflation long term. He says maybe 3-4 months of deflation. Until it gets bad enough for them to completely monetize the bailouts we will have a level of deflation. Good time to start hedging with oil, PMs, and food. Its kinda like the last chance. Last stop for the train to who knows where.
The Obama administration is perfectly willing to implement price controls on energy and has already expressed their desire to prevent speculation within the commodities markets. Anyone who has been trading futures should already know about the changes to margin requirements. I expect price controls to be in place on energy and food within the next 3 years which might put a cap on how much one could profit from such speculation. I might recommend trading overseas exchanges.
Dear MOT, I know you are trying to follow the spirit of Jesus. Maybe try a little bit harder, stay away from the beasts of Mammon and their calls and try to throw out the money changers and slave masters to free america and the American People! Btw: go the save way to survive: buy silver, real money, not paper, based on war and oil speculation. NT, Matthew can help.
I trade Oil and there is a much of a muchness. You might have split second arbs going but apart from that they price identically and same for ICE WTI. If you're looking for liquidity and slightly tighter spreads: NYMEX CL.
chapthe, Learn to differentiate between the people of a nation and that country's policies. The US policies are a disaster but the people don't want wars and what is inflicted on them. It is the same here in the UK and the world over. People all over are just pawns in a chess game of life. Lets face it the Austrian people were manouvered into war by the system. I doubt many Austrians fighting on the Eastern Front wanted to be there.
idatomhue, right. Austrians did not go to war voluntarily instead of todays US-war machine slaves, who do it for the money, for the mammon. Therefore they need a bunch of excuses and lies to keep calm and the fingers on the triggers. I know many friendly americans, but most of them are really immensly brainwashed. They go to wars and kill for the profit of their puppeteers and wall street high money banksters. USA made the world much worse. (Konrad Zuse invented the first programmable computer)
Konrad invented a "punch card" mechanical machine to do calculations. This is far from a binary, nor gate, nand gate type computer of today. Konrad invented NOTHING!
Hey SendinK9....let's make some quick $. Let's go to Cal. (or just use that good-ole AMERICAN invention called a computer, yeah, been reading your exchange w/chapthe...it looks like chapthe got his cheeks chapted by you bro) and buy up Cal IOU's for 50c on the $ and then turn them into the state for a full refund at 1 for 1....we oughta mop up. Darn, I'm such a capitalist pig.
not working, not creating, but speculating on wars and oil price.
How typically american, imperialistic, disgusting. You think, you are the greatest nation, but in reality you are the most humble and brutal nation of mass murderers, killers of 60 million "indians" and millions of innocent germans, vietnamese, iraqis, etc, etc
Worldwide exploitation and theft is the recipe of your fragile success. USA=inhuman warmongers, unknowingly slaves of high finance. USA goes down as an extra stupid nation.
you sure make yourself look good by making this comment. A comment on youtube, an american invention. With a computer, an american invention. Oh yeah electricity, that's us too. Thanks for all your help though, you worker you.
It has nothing to do with the people. You are just as flawed. The problem is the power. Flawed people ruled the most powerful country in the world, so more damage was done. If Austria was powerful, flawed Austrians would do the same.
american invention? come one, learn history. The computer has been invented by the german Konrad Zuse. I am not flawed and pathetic, just looking around, what the puppeteers of USA and their willing "most free slaves" are doing. How many countries have you liberated so far? Like Iraq, with killing hundreds of thousands of civilians. You yourself are hypocritical and pathetic.
You're right, Zuse is soley responsible for your ability to talk with me across the world right now. I'm sure this is what he envisioned. By the way that was sarcasm.
You can dance around it, but like it or not, it's hard for Austrians to call Americans unproductive, when you use our products every day, and we can't even think of anything that you have produced.
USA are a bunch of killers ha.. boy how hypocritical can people get ?! for one thing who do you think it was that invented that computer your typing on right now... Give me a break with your BBC Media propaganda BS man. This argument is as old as the hills. We really don't want to hear how many Germans Troops America has killed Liberating Europe especially after that Angel HITLER! Its an old unsubstantiated argument that goes nowhere. Lets move on and keep with the topic of this video.
to answer your question: the computer has been invented in Germany by Konrad Zuse. Just like the rockets and so many others things. In the case you have forgotten: USA stole more than 400.000 patents from Germany after the war that you fought with your communist brothers in Sowjet Union.
In 1939, John V. Atanasoff and Clifford Berry developed the Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC) at Iowa State University, which was regarded as the first electronic digital computer. The ABC was built by hand and the design used over 300 Vacuum Tubes and had capacitors fixed in a mechanically rotating drum for memory.
MOT. Great insight to what is happening. Been reading and viewing many things of late and feel that much is happening and the Powers that Be are keeping much in secret. Thanks for keeping us informed and telling it like it is!
MOT, Oil production peaked in the US in 1970....the reserve estimates for US are lame compared to global consumption....
If Ghawar peaks, it's over....US supply could not supply the world for more than 2 years at proper demand. C'mon, man do some more research into Peak Oil.
MOT, do you think 10 BILLION BARRELS is "alot of oil"? Really, the world consumes 1 BILLION in 11 days.....so, is 10 billion barrels alot? Not really.
MOT, please do some number crunching and memorize those numbers for a better feel of "what's alot of oil". At peak, we have HALF the oil remaining....that's either "Alot" or a really shitty situation depending on how demand develops...actually it's a really shity situation either "demand up or down", both have serious implications.
I think the plentiful oil Brent is making mention of is oil shales. If this were 'mined' from the areas of Utah and Wyoming it would destroy the Green River and the Colorado which supplies the majority of water for the SW.I seriously doubt it will be exploited unless they are going to sacrifice the US SW.
Brent, world wide conventional crude peaked in 05, the best estimate of CC and unconvential peak is 2010.These rumors of war are not a contretemps.
It does not matter when and where war breaks out. The war for your soul is already happening. Your rights in mans law has already been taken away. You are not soveriegn any longer.
We have no voice left.
We do however have the King of kings on our side. If you do G-DS will.
Subscribe to the "webbot project" on Youtube. Clif High (not his real name) said the same thing. It will be nasty to countries like India thanks to Israel. We, of course, will have to fix the situation. From this fall on. . . life will be EXTREMELY tough. Worse than the Great Depression. The Fall of Rome will look like a walk in the park.
Also listen to Lindsey Williams. Everything is planned out by the elitists.
You are wrong. Peak Oil is a fact. Production peaked in USA in 1971, it is a fact. No we are peaking.... Obviously you don't know what you are talking about (with all due respect).
I hate to question basic things like this. But doesnt war cause ALL prices to rocket? Its just basic supply and demand. War restricts supply but also demands more.... of EVERYTHING. Food, clothes, oil, humans, planes, cars... the list sorta goes on. What it seems like in this vid is that your issues are more about the war side of things than the oil as this is what you base your escalation on. However the war you described: Iran, NK, US, Russ, CHN... oil would really be the smallest problem out.
Im not worried about Iran or N. Korea. First off, N.Korea doesn't have the financial or military might to start a war. They can launch all the missles they want but they will never be as bold as to engage into war. Iran on the other hand is led by a moron who only seeks destruction of everyone on the planet. Isreal will end up comming to our rescue FOR SURE. Im not too sure what role Russia or China will play in this.
In fact, the Chinese Communist Party controls all key raw materials, techniques, and personnel in North Koreas nuclear development. Some nuclear experiments were completed in the secret nuclear base in China.
South Korean statistical data reveal that in 2008, Chinas overall volume of trade with North Korea reached an historical high of 73 percent of North Koreas total trade volume.
Great video! I'm with you MOT, this is leading to something much bigger on many levels.
A Gulf of Tonkin type incident would encite a major war. Take your pick, North Korea or Iran. I think it will be Iran.
When the US becomes intagled in another Middle Eastern war you will probably see NK become much bolder. They may view the US as streched thin, both militarily and financially and may make a move, inciting another war.

Face it people, if you had a 20% cut there is nothing but bone.

Then we have huge unemployment that keeps rising.

Report by CSUS (California State University, Sacramento),
webdork69 2 years ago
webdork69

SendinK9 2 years ago

SendinK9 2 years ago

Another 300 thousand homes went into foreclosure today. cont...

It is true, nobody can really say what is going to happen and when, however there is enough evidence out there that I feel these assumption can safely be made with fairly close estimates. What fundamentals? The markets are driven by whatever alters public perception into accepting complete control of the state.
mn8aol 2 years ago
Perception is key. We co-create our world view in cooperation with a higher authority; what that is can only be perceived subjectively. Following the market is like driving while looking in the rear view mirror; no real chance to intuit the future, really, for trends are also co-created-- by collective perception. Thoughts become things.

Perception is key to transformational marxists who by creating constant "change" and group "consensus" are herding the people toward accepting complete control of the state.
mn8aol 2 years ago
The universe is about change; this is a universal truth. Followers need leaders. Since truth is found within, and each person is responsible to seek this inner authority, then the herd deserves what it gets. Freedom has always been and always will be available to those who seek it with determination and risk. All people cannot know freedom, for a free wo/man has no servants.
carefulcarpenter 2 years ago
...or followers.
carefulcarpenter 2 years ago
Though you removed your reply I disagree that " truth is found within, and each person is responsible to seek this inner authority. " Truth my friend only is known through an understanding of God and who God is. To know truth is to recognize God as the sovereign authority.
mn8aol 2 years ago
And when you talk with God, are you not going within?
carefulcarpenter 2 years ago
Both God and His word do not change, they remain constant. The scriptures are as true today as they were when they were written. There is no "universal truth that the universe is about change. "
mn8aol 2 years ago

Due4Revolution 2 years ago
The sense of using oil depends on its cost. If extracting it becomes to expensive (which is soon) then your combustion engine gets serious competition from any electric engine, and alternative enrgy like solar will bring better returns..Saying oil is plentifull but extraction will become more difficult is like saying there is not enough gold to match the dollars. It is evidence of ignorance..

Need another response.
y9kids 2 years ago
Ras Tanura is a short missile shot from Iran and would light up easily. This would take out over 10% of worldwide daily oil production from the market by keeping SA oil in the ground with no destination where it could be put onto tankers. Instant market chaos would descend. Iran could threaten to attack their own oil production to make markets worse. I would bet China would come to Iran's aid because they will need Iranian oil and protect shipment of it.
y9kids 2 years ago
Russia could get into the mix and demand no further attacks on Iran. They could coerce west Europe with the threat another cold winter. In the end, this scenario has some upside for Iran. They might be able to stand down Israel and the US. Certainily, there would be a decade of chaos, but the threat of this scenario would hopefully prevent the initia attack on Iran in the first place. The last though is just wishful hoping on my part.
y9kids 2 years ago
I have read in the past that Iran will shut down the straits if attacked.
manoftruth 2 years ago
MOT, if Iran is attacked first, their attacking the Straits would likely draw the US into some level of conflict. Oil prices would shoot up, but once the conflict was over and the straits secured, oil would flow through right away. If instead, the scenario I laid out plays and Saudi oil infrastructure were destroyed, Western nations would have to think real hard because oil supplies, and very high oil prices, would be affected much further into the future.

Excellent video, congratulations. I believe you and Matt Simmons are both right: I believe it will be a combination of the two. Peak oil will drive up prices sooner rather than later. What surprises me is that it has not already happened. I was expecting it five years ago.

Personally I think $20 crude in the near future is much more likely than $200.

manoftruth 2 years ago
Yeah, $20 per barrel may happen, but that 2 million barrels excess supply will get gobbled up real fast, especially when China and India get their economies going. The world uses, now , about 83mbpd, and their are billions of Chinese and Indians who want the same life we have. Oil is like a crouching tiger waiting to pounce, regardless of War, which would make it even worse. S &D are SEVERELY out of balance. That and a falling dollar will cause confict. $200 dpb in 2-3 yrs., maybe sooner!

Iran will seek to take over iraq.

Info on the Strait of Hormuz
An average of about 15 tankers carrying 16.5 to 17 million barrels of crude oil normally pass through the strait every day, making it one of the world's most strategically important choke points. This represents 40% of the world's seaborne oil shipments, and 20% of all world shipments.
Could Iran's Revolutionary Guard take control of this area - and cause war? (They already promised to shut it down - if they were attacked by anyone.)

There are actually 3 reasons for $200/brl + oil
1) War (definitely a reason I forgot about) thank you. 2) Peak Oil (longer term) 3) Dollar destruction or loosing reserve currency status thus crashing the dollar in panic.
With those odds you have to own Oil ETF's. I also trade futures but I'm waiting for this final deflationary scare to knock Oil to a low over the next 2-4 weeks to take new long positions.
Best of luck and nice video MOT.

manoftruth 2 years ago
He says deflation short term and inflation long term. He says maybe 3-4 months of deflation. Until it gets bad enough for them to completely monetize the bailouts we will have a level of deflation. Good time to start hedging with oil, PMs, and food. Its kinda like the last chance. Last stop for the train to who knows where.
SamuraiCommando 2 years ago
The Obama administration is perfectly willing to implement price controls on energy and has already expressed their desire to prevent speculation within the commodities markets. Anyone who has been trading futures should already know about the changes to margin requirements. I expect price controls to be in place on energy and food within the next 3 years which might put a cap on how much one could profit from such speculation. I might recommend trading overseas exchanges.

chapthe, Learn to differentiate between the people of a nation and that country's policies. The US policies are a disaster but the people don't want wars and what is inflicted on them. It is the same here in the UK and the world over. People all over are just pawns in a chess game of life. Lets face it the Austrian people were manouvered into war by the system.

Thanks MOT for the video. What were your thoughts on the Pope? Are you going to comment further?

MOT, Oil production peaked in the US in 1970....the reserve estimates for US are lame compared to global consumption....
If Ghawar peaks, it's over....US supply could not supply the world for more than 2 years at proper demand. C'mon, man do some more research into Peak Oil.
UnderseaCaveman 2 years ago

Brent, world wide conventional crude peaked in 05, the best estimate of CC and unconvential peak is 2010.These rumors of war are not a contretemps.

when will war break out and america really feel the effects of the depression? people are still making money and buying.

It does not matter when and where war breaks out. The war for your soul is already happening. Your rights in mans law has already been taken away. You are not soveriegn any longer.
We have no voice left.
We do however have the King of kings on our side. If you do G-DS will.

I wouldn't be suprised if Iran gets attacked but i dont think you can simplify the problem to just oil.

I am not. This is just a heads up video on the future price of oil

I agree that the oil will thru the roof.

Im not too sure what role Russia or China will play in this.
oblivion292 2 years ago
Russia and China should be considered as closer to N Korea and Iran than the U.S. is. That is one of the keys.

Brent, consider reading:
The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

N. Korea would be the conduit by which China acts IMO. Israel may be the conduit by which the west acts.

Love it or hate it, war is in the cards.
