the problem for me is this - jeans - always too big on the waist! they can fit everywhere else but then i have a huge gap at the waist at the back why oh why!
It's hard enough for me as a 6'1 woman. I have a very long inseam, and no place makes pants that are long enough for me. I wear a lot of skirts and capris.
I understand the tall womans plight but when your petite slmodt nothing ever fits you right, unless I go to a childrens store. The few petite clothing services there are get really expensive.
Thanks so much for this! I'm glad I'm not the only one putting petite activism videos up! We really need to speak up and let the world know that properly fitted petite clothes (and not stuff that look like they're for a 65 year old retiree on a cruise) are necessary! Alterations don't fix everything. We want to look like grown-ups!
i haaate being tiny. i'm a size 4 or 6 (depending on the shop) and i'm way short. all my clothes are too big because the smallest i can ever find is eight, petite sections tend to have hardly any choice if there is a petite section, and alot of shops don't even have one. except the proper expensive shops. as this video proves.
I know what you mean im only 5"1 - 5"2 and i find it hard to get smart clothes for work :\ Next has a petite range but its all too wide on the chest and waist.. Not exactly "petite"
im 5'8 and a uk size 8..i can never find jeans that are small enough in the waist and long enough in the leg..stupid places! and omg that woman was supposed to pay all that money! id hate to be that short and small, it would be too expensive.
Wow, so many people dont realise how difficult it is to find small clothes. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT - the petite section doesnt ALWAYS have clothes small enough...
im 5 ft 7 so i dont ave that problem but in loads of places iv seen they have a petite section so just go to them! lol and loads of places r startin to get smaller sizes in clothes like 4 s and stuff xx
I haven't seen a size in topshop over a 12 YET and some shops, for example Deep, don't even HAVE sizes in their clothes, they're all the same size , which is a six I think. So go there.
The thing is, being petite the issue isn't about rolling up sleeves and trousers, it's about finding clothes that make you look sexy and not like a little girl. It's hard to find anything that makes a tiny waist and small chest look good, and jeans that are the right length and have a small waist fit too. All the clothes in this video are soo expensive, but I suggest River Island for jeans, because they come in size 6 and different lengths, and for day tops too because they hug nicely ;-) xxx
What the hell? I mean loads of shops do size 6 these days, and quite a few do size 4.... I mean the height thing is annoying as I am 5 foot 2 and my mum is 4 foot 11 so we both know what it's like... but i mean its not that hard you can just take trousers and sleeves up...
I agree. Cheaper places must start selling clothes that fit for all people not just regular sizes. Luckily Walmart is starting to sell petite sizes; unfortunately, it is a very limited in styles and selection. For instance, they only have jeans and you can't go to work with that on, especially not the first year.
it's ridiculous how long they make trousers these days - always at 34". I'm 5'5", which I think is about average, but I still have to roll them up... it's so irritating!
That's just selfish. Believe it or not, there are a lot of people with longer legs than you. I'm 5' 10" and it's great to find the odd pair of jeans that are the right length.
This is so useful! Everything seems to be cut for average sizes these days - bigger and bigger with vanity sizing. How great to see such fashionable well-proportioned clothes.

So what if someone is a size 20 and they're 7 feet tall? I would imagine that would be make for much harder shopping than this.

exactly. it's easy for short people, but when you're tall you can't just take trousers down, can you?

I can totally relate to this...I'm also 4'9" and size 00. This helps me a lot but come on everything are designer labels that I can never afford.
