  • Very cool...sounds great! Thanks for sharing that. Jazz flute can be so frustrating, especially when it comes to trying to lose the classical feel and the faster classical vibrato. Always nice to hear someone who has it together. Did you play classical before switching to jazz or do you double on sax?? :)

    I played a LOT of classical music when I was very young before I got really interested in improvising. Then, by listeing and experimenting, I learned to alter my flute technique so it would work better in jazz/Latin situations. Although I studied the clarinet for a while when I was in high school, I chose not to double in the end because I really did NOT like playing on a reed. (...It felt VERY "unnatural" to me...)
