I didn't start watching Days until the fall of 1997 and I saw some great stories and actors and actresses. I recognized a few of the stories here like Sami's execution and Nicole and Eric.One of my favorite couples was Shawn and Belle(Jason Cock and Kirsten Storms). I don't watch it anymore.

They should NEVER have let Deidre Hall go...that was just stupid. Funny how we all differ on our faves. I never liked Austin, no matter who played him. I liked Carrie as a character though. Also, never liked Carly. I miss Jason as Shawn Douglas, but never cared for the Belle and Shawn pairing either. I was the biggest fan of Days in the early to late 80's. That was the best time period for me.

He was her man servant (for a "bad" guy he was really sweet), who won the lottery and proposed to his "Madam", whom he was always secretly in love with. That was at the end of their term on the show, and at that point Viv had really softened up. Now they have her back as evil as she was before she changed - and no mention of Ivan! (Or Carly and Lawrence's son Nicky).

@hcvang , wouldn't go so far as to say i can't handle it. it is, after all, the everyday norm. it may surprise some to know that days was one of the first soaps to push the line in terms of integration and diversity. it's a big reason why folks like me became fans in the early days. it is not thin-skinned, but rather, meaningful, to see familiar images, AND to appreciate a legacy. perhaps you have a different experience, so you take it for granted? instead of name-calling, look at yourself.

Man, those were the DAYS! I stopped watching Days around 2001. Came back in 2009 w/ the return of Carly Manning (Crystal Chappell). LOOK at Bo/Carly at the 31 sec part... They were the most beautiful & BEST couple ever on soaps, IMO! HOT! And they are both still gorgeous. I also miss Mike (Roark), Carrie, Patrick's Austin, Lisa's Billie, Jensen Ackles as Eric, I miss Bryan as Lucas, Mrs. Horton, Ivan, Victor as Nicholas, and so many more classic character. Love these memories. I've been watching forever. What's great about Days is that a lot of the same actors have been here since way back when - Like Bo and Hope, Doug and Julie, Maggie and so many more. Love this soap! The flashbacks are great.

Currently, Shawn and Belle have been written off the show (The actors were fired.) And more recently the show came under fire when they fired: Marlena, John, Steve, Kayla, Tony and Anna. 3 of the 80's supercouples were gone within about 2 1/2 months!!

I have been watching Days for 15 years now, and Carly being buried alive is what kept me tuning in. What is funny is when everyone says that Days was the first soap to show a storyline like that, but they aren't. Back in the 80's, The Young and The Restless aired a buried alive storyline and the victim was a woman who was being stalked by a crazed fan.

I rememember when Bo and Hope were teenagers in love lol I looked forward to every summer so my grandma could catch me up on days stuff. =) This was our special time together.
