  • oops the should be (they)

  • True Music, unlike the trash the push off as good music today. Thanks for the upload.

  • reminds me of Malcolm X

  • to have someone with this voice now....would be amazing please

  • @mollylucittrees SOOO true im only 26 but its hard to relate to the music nowadays!

  • I swear, it is something about that era (the 1960's) that just brought out so much good in the name of music. Many 60's songs today are still timeless. Although people associate the 60's as not the best decade (Civil rights, Viet Nam, you name it...), it was the best decade of music in my opinion SO FAR.

  • So beautiful.... The very essence of pain and hope in a song.

  • malcom x brought me here

  • im 17... i also hate when im listening to music like this and my brother bust out a wayne verse.... I wish he would grow into music like this

  • @TheRun23456

  • beauty

  • i love this one

  • This has got to be one of the greatest performances of all time in any genre. It reaches in and touches one's deepest, most central being. The mingling of pain and hope he conveys is almost unbearably poignant.

  • Many, many, many people in this world can sing. Not many can SANG. This man, Mr. Cooke, could SANG. What a classic, timeless voice. I never tire of hearing his music.

  • Im listening to this right after Rej3ctz - Cat Daddy.

  • This is SOUL

  • WOW..How can he be gone....His music will live on....wonderful!!!

  • demi lovato brought me here :)

  • @oddwolfMARC MARC, Contact me......... Perhaps, I may assist you? I'm 66 and from South Philly originally and have lived herein Tucson for over 32 years and have over 1,000 original 45 oldie's and Doo Wop, plus; 1,000 plus; vinyl's from the 60's-late 80's....

  • Could people shut about how old they are; if your trying to prove that it doesn't matter how old you are to listen to incredible music then your kind of defeating the point by saying how old you are, so shut it.

  • o god this song is beautiful.

  • What an extraordinary talent. I can only guess the hardship and prejudice encountered by him during this time.

  • Have you ever heard an Angelic male *voice? Well---you just heard one! I was eleven when this tune hit radio. Women as well as girls hearts would melt everytime they heard this man's Golden *voice. Wow, I confess I did too.

  • it's been along time comin baby but i know a change gone come.

  • One of my favorite song. The song make me sad yet happy that Sam Cooke recorded it. It remind me of my mother who passed away at the age of 59, he was her favorite singer, she love his music from his gospel days with The Highway QC's and later on The Soul Stirrers. She always told us that whenever he sang gospel or r&b you could understand all of his words and didn't have to second guess what he was saying. Now I find myself looking for that in singers today.

  • the best song ever

  • What is that clicking noise?

  • @DJBrothaJ its the tape that they used back then to record the voice and lyrics on....

  • This song is beyond legendary I hope I hear this the day I die

  • The emotion is his voice..oh god...makes me wanna cry everytime. Will always love this song

  • 17 yrs old and i dont believe it matters what age you are i love this song, this music is timeless

  • @Romeobeyk If it doesn't matter what age you are, why did you post your age? I mean, it had no relevance to your argument at all.

  • @ArticulatingMadnessY because i could

  • @Romeobeyk I am 14 years old, you are right, this music is timeless.

  • @Romeobeyk YES!! I am 16 yrs. old and I so REALLY like Sam Cooke and ALL his songs and all the older music!!! Let's make this music alive again!!:)

  • @Romeobeyk Agreed. Please spread the word and pass this to your friends let them get off the junk they listen these days

  • @Romeobeyk true. It's my favorite song

  • this is the favorite song of julian casablancas...^^

  • @quazzzzzzar

thats what brought me to this song, and i have to agree with his choice, its an amazing song. Sam cooke was a very talented musician and singer

  • My first time listening to all of this...tried not to cry..but did.

  • REAL

  • Sam Cooke is The Worlds Greatest Singer.

  • Happy birthday, Dr. King.

  • I'm here because of Adam Lambert honestly. Nothing can top this version of course, but I would say in a vocal aspect, Adam topped it. His version was unique and just flat out amazing to come up with.

  • @xXxBibblexXx vocally, this was better than Lambert's.

  • @xXxBibblexXx I'm not saying he can't sing or anything, but this is known as one of the best all time vocals in history, and when I first listened to it, the reason why was clear to me on "I was booooorrrn". Cut my soul.

  • @Rosannasfriend Agreed!

  • Nothing like gold soul music!

  • This must be one of the great human anthems of all time. Sam Cooke sings it with such feeling. Stupendous!

  • @tragedy2169 I am so sorry for your loss. There is nothing anyone can say to make you feel better, just try to focus on the good memories to keep you from going to the dark side. This song helps me, too, to soften my grief.

  • @tragedy2169 Read the scripture John 5:28 & 29, also Isaiah 35. Study with Jehovah's witnesses and they will show you Gods purpose for the earth and how you will be able to see your brother right here on earth again very soon. "God gave up his son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but have everlasting LIFE. John 3:16, Hope this eases your pain. It did mine.

  • The thumbs down button is not for download !!!

  • wow i dont know how he is so good

  • @ThroughBloodAndRain ~ I hold tight to the words of Robert Lewis Stevenson ........"Love makes us believe in immortality because there seems not room enough in life for so great a tenderness and it is inconceivble that the most masterful of our emotions should have no more than the spare moments of a few brief years"

  • @MrRonnieG wow

  • This is real music.

  • love this!!!

  • Sam Cooke had the most beautiful, soulful and evocative voice ever and this song, in particular, is so powerful and moving, reminding us of the Civil Rights struggles of the 50s and 60s. Listening to it now is an especially emotional experience because we're only a few days away from Martin Luther King Day, 2012! It 's almost an anthem. Nobody can sing it with the force and beauty that Sam Cooke had! He was the very best!

  • Best song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
