  • Awesome job. guitar, keys and vocal. You got it. Like the Jeff Beck finger style too.

  • thats what doin a cover is all about! your own little improve very cool!

  • Bloody amazing. When there is no camera on I am capable of some extraordinary playing (sometimes). But turn the camera on and I turn into an idiot. I'd like to change that.

  • Bloody amazing.

  • What 2 moronic whackos said that they didn't like this?

  • Music.

  • Bravo!

  • awesome!!!!

  • VERY VERY good. I love your post.

  • GENIUS!!

  • what kind of guitar is it?

  • Reminds me of Lenny Breau, but with a flare of Pat Metheny acoustic performances...

and Led Zeppelin of course, :P, obviously...

  • Thanks! Not my personal favorite performance, this is from my early YouTube period when I played everything too rushed and kind of nervous... On the other hand, check out my recent cover of "Thank You" for a much better performance and better audio/video quality... Thanks again!

  • @jreichbart

    already did mate...

    I'm subbed to you!

I saw this vid when it was in the 1000s views and posted a comment.

So did you reconsidered my request of jazzing up Ten Years Gone? ;)

See I watch this vid multiple times, you are great...

Great performance, but I can see the nervousness in your face...

I know, it's hard to get the feel when there's a camera in your face.

I keep messing up, that's why I don't have any guitar vids because I believe it'll be too embarrassing for me. :S

  • @jreichbart Stop doing the covers and start doing some originals..."U" deserve it Man...Really....!!!!!..I'd travel a 100 miles to hear you do this live with a band of real good guys...

  • Yes I love your version of Thank you. The mystical vibe of No Quarter can be captured slowed down. Do you ever work with different tunings like Page? In any event it's all good.

  • wow u can perform this song without john paul jones.

  • I'll jam with him any day...

  • i love that play!

  • That was awesome, I wouldn't change a thing...would love to learn how to arrange a song for solo guitar like that...love the mix of melody and harmony...great tone too!

  • Thanks! Check out some of my more recent uploads for better sound and video quality. Also, I do have a two hour DVD lesson titled "How to arrange any song for solo guitar", sounds exactly like what you're looking for... When you play the video above, an annotation text will come up. Click right on the text to see a sample. Thanks again!

  • Im not a fan of Led Zep or jazz guitar, but I loved what you did here!

  • you got an incredible feel. .

If I ever get married you're playing the cocktail hour

  • sir, you are a genius

    keep being awesome!!!

  • Jake, peace and love from NC to my home town Flint, MI. You and Nick inspire me and break my heart at the same time.

  • Thanks! I still work with Nick, check out some of our trio videos.

  • OH MY GOD! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT.

dude, way to GO. very nice, one of the few Led Zeppelin covers/arrangements I've liked.

  • I'm amazed that this level of playing. He makes it look as easy as cutting the lawn.

  • wowowowowowowow this is AWESOME!

  • Don't take down the video is what I mean.

  • Thanks, I appreciate it!

  • I like the tempo you covered it in, BECAUSE you said JAZZ, it is okay by me. If this was supposed to be a "dead-on" remake, I would say slow it down, but it's not, and your take on it is simply wonderful. Don't take it down. Ever.

  • Nicely done.. but slow it down, man

  • Sweet, man.

  • a little fast for my taste, but awesome

  • Thanks! A little fast to my taste too. I always do it slower and relaxed on the gig but this is from my early YouTube "phase" when I'd still get nervous and play too fast. I've considered removing this but it has so many nice comments, it'd be too bad... Check out my more recent videos, including "Thank You", also LZ. Thanks again!

  • Beautiful man, you jazz, thanks for doing this kill zep tune for us to enjoy...

  • Brilliant.

  • Very impressive. Keep them coming!

  • Very nice, 5/5

  • gooooooooood

  • Awesome,

    Loved It.....5/5*

  • Great work! Very good player. You look kinda bored during the non-jazz rock riff sections - I guess they're kinda mandatory to play to keep true to No Quarter.

He looks like Jay Thomas to me. :-)

  • simply amazing!!!

  • Holy shit. You are good. No, not good. You are amazing!

  • You sir are awesome. A truly amazing version of my favorite LZ tune.

  • thats a great version!

  • Masterful, you sir do justice to this song!

  • i find it funny how people never seen No Quarter as a jazz song. JPJ was a jazz head and it reflects even in the original. Blues doesn't have that many chord changes and overall I LOVE YOUR VERSION! AGHHH (i came)

  • @Ugazful no quater live in dallas in 75' is soooooo jazzy listen to it

  • Great playing.

  • it was a great song mostly composed by John Paul Jones. this song is like HOLY GRAIL

  • brillant. ive always felt no quarter is a very jazz song. perfect solo arrangement. great playing!!

  • sick

  • Ha ha ha ha. You bastard! I been wanting to to a version of this for a few months now... thought I was original. Ill do a response. Mine will be a lot slower...

  • Thanks! You know, I always do play this slower, it's just that when I was starting out on YouTube, I'd get all nervous in front of the camera and play too fast. Check out some of my more recent videos. Thanks again!

  • ha ha ha, yeah that makes sense.

  • OK. Another classic done so ggoooood!

  • beautiful

  • very cool

  • Dude this is freaking amazing

  • cool!

  • You are an inspirations, at the same level as Pat Metheny! Sorry, but for me, yes... I love Led Zeppelin, and love Jazz even more! What happens if you cover a CCR song, lol! Jazz it up, wonder how it would sound like too!

  • Thank you!

  • Actually I love Led Zeppelin more... LOL!

I meant the opposite! Made a typo! But still I love Jazz a lot too!

  • Wow! I visited this video a lot of times, because it's so good! And I've never seen any haters, because everyone loves this!

  • Unbelievable. Thanks for the inspiration! (That is once I get the confidence to pick up a guitar again!)

  • I am with all of the others...I had to put down my guitar and watch...and listen...how I wish I could play like that..47yo wannabe in ME

  • Man, you are AMAZING! Led Zeppelin on jazz guitar sounded ridiculous, but I love your Steely Dan treatments so I gave this a try. Needless to say, I loved this too. You inspire me, and I bet lots of other guitarists as well. Thank you.

  • congratulations jake!!! then find the led zeppelin rivisited in key jazz is something amazing!!!again congratultions!!!

  • I thought I was going to hate this but it's just way too good. Really nice playing. I'm a huge Zep fan but I also love jazz. Thank you for NOT making it lounge.

  • This makes me enjoy the song in a different light

  • Wow...outstanding! Very creative. I like the phrasing with all the percussive strumming; you still manage to capture that haunting keyboard vibe from the original recording with your guitar.

  • Thank you! I only regret that this tune was done in my early YouTube days so the sound is so-so and there is a certain nervousness in the playing. Please check out some of my more recent videos. I also expect to upload another LZ tune in the near future so please subscribe to receive a notice. Thanks again!

  • Is this in standard tuning?

  • Yes.

  • is there a place where i can see the chords for this song? especially the refrain

  • wow that was awesome

  • wow i love how u play from your heeart its incredible great job keep up the great work

  • God....

This is THE BEST cover version of No Quarter I've ever heard...

  • I want these in MP3... Your blues stuff would be amazing to play for a dinner. =)

  • Thank you very much! That can be arranged and I also have two official solo guitar CDs you may want to check out, please contact me through the channel for more info. Thanks again and please don't forget to subscribe!

  • for a dinner? lmfao

  • wow dude that was amazing great playing!!!!

  • an easy video to give five stars, i love led zeppelin, i love guitar, and now i think i love you!

  • really original and amazing way to play it!! best cover of no quarter on youtube! =)

  • super creative!!!!!

  • i am speechless !

  • excelent

  • Excellent playing jake ,i just subscribed.I have some video's of a guitarist called naudo from brazil on my page that u might enjoy watching.

  • Thanks! I used to subscribe until he was removed. We do nearly the same work, playing at restaurants, etc. Our pop repertoires are very similar too other than I also am heavy on jazz standards and he has enormous knowledge of more international stuff. Glad to see his music is out there!

  • Fantastic!! that is an ausome version! 5 starz!

  • That's a fabulous arrangement, well done!

  • My god... Page would be proud.

  • wonderful guitar version !!!!

    10 stars !!!

  • Nice!

  • did you arrange this

  • A wonderful version .. a fantastic song .. :)

  • I hate you for being so good!!

Just kidding i love you and your guitar

I have a question, can these kinds of guitars be used as an acoustic guitar?

because i might get one then :)

    5/5

  • Thank you! Yes they can but they are not as loud.

  • Great Thanks. Looking forward to see more of your videos, when i get time :)

  • i have a hard time figuring out the scale after the main riff. would you mind posting tabs or something?

  • Thank you! TABs are just too darn hard to write out (and boring to look at). Instead, please look at my recent video "Solo Fingerstyle pop and jazz guitar: Excerpts and samples" to see what my tutorial DVDs look like and also click on "more info" to learn more. Thanks again!

  • Damn, what a cover!

You happen to have the tabs for this?

  • Thank you! Please look at my recent video "Solo Fingerstyle pop and jazz guitar: Excerpts and samples" to see what my DVDs look like and also click on "more info" to learn more. Thanks again!

  • в принцепе не чё, но чувак куда то торопится!!!!!

  • Ha ha... I am famous - you know me!

  • holy shit man what a cover!

dam ur a freakin good guitarman

  • man.. you are good!!!!!!

  • you are amazing

  • really nice

  • What a wonderful version of this classic! Really smooth and imaginative playing! If I can some day play like this, I'm a happy man :) Best wishes from Finland!

  • Thank you! But you CAN play like this, all you have to do is order one of my famous DVD video guitar lessons and I'll show you, one note at a time, how to play this song...! Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

  • this is the best I have ever seen this played. I have had this in my favorites for awhile now. I just never thought of this as a jazz tune. you have gave it new life and kept the feeling of the original. great Job. I also love the way you play the wind cries marry. your playing has just blown me away. thanks for sharing with us.

  • AMAZING

  • I really enjoyed listening to this...

  • Wow nice man. And do you have the tabs to this song? if yes i would really like to have them, Thank you.

  • People this good do not read tabs ;)

  • You are a phenominal player who really cares about his fans, No Quarter may be my all time favorite Led song because the grinding sound of the lead guitar massages my ears, you do a fantastic job on this. I am huge into music that takes talent to play, you won't find me listening to Hellogoodbye and such, I want to learn to play guitar because of you. Keep it up, and record more zep, maybe you could rock out Achilles Last Stand

  • Thank you!

  • Watched 5 times already :).. you going to anymore Led Zep tracks?

  • Thank you! I recorded "Thank You" for my solo guitar CD "16 songs". You can hear samples at my website (you can see the web address in my profile) under the audio tab. Please let me know if you'd be interested in purchasing a copy of the CD. Thanks again!

  • very very cool.. sounds excellent

  • awesome stuff man, such a cool way to improvise no quarter. If you made a cd with stuff like this on it i'd definatly buy it.

  • Thank you! I have, in fact, a very cool CD called "16 songs" with exactly stuff like this. You can hear samples at my website (you can see the web address in my profile) under the audio tab. The cost is $15. Domestic shipping is $3, more elsewhere. Please let me know! Thanks again.

  • Maybe someone can post them on Limewire?

  • Comment removed

  • very good man,

    yur spot on

  • Wow, I came on youtube searching for jazz arrangements of this song after seeing a pianist and drummer perform it as a jazz piece earlier this week, and I'm pleased with what I found here! Awesome job, you're a great player! I'm subscribed, can't wait to hear more.

  • Thank you! I have lots more videos, please look especially at my more recent ones as they have better sound and video quality. Stay tuned!

  • I do the same (though I don't get them done as often as possible). I mostly play jazz on an acoustic (an OM) as the scratchier, slightly drier tone works very well in restaurant settings.

  • I will do. Your tone is wonderful - are you playing with or without nails?

  • Thank you! I use nails with acrylic. Actually the old software I used to upload videos with is really killing my tone, check out some of my more recent stuff like "steppin' out" by Joe Jackson. Thanks again!

  • Very well-done. Thank you for this arrangement; it works very well.

  • Thanks very much! Please don't forget to subscribe, plenty more videos to come...

  • Man you Just kicked my ass so hard, Now every time I fart I smell shoe leather....lmao... It was awsome I never had any Idea that this song could be covered like that. thanks for this video, but not the kick in the ass! lol...

  • Wow never thought of arranging this song like this, but you made it work amazingly well. It's one of my favourite Zeppelin songs

  • Thanks! I figure anything that has a melody is a candidate for a solo guitar arrangement. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes not so much...

  • awsome job!

  • Wow! Fantastic stuff! One of my all-time favorite LZ tunes given a proper jazz treatment. Makes me want to start practicing again!

Thanks for posting such inspirational work.

  • I wish I could play like that. Will you practice for me.

    Just Kidding

  • Thanks. Listening back here, I really do need to practice...! Check out some of the more recent videos, I actually started paying attention to what I'm doing...

  • Just fantastic! It's great you can do it all from your head, are you self taught? Page couldn't even play it like that!

  • Thank you. what JP has done was to invent a whole new sound whereas I am only putting a spin on things, that's why he's one of my main heroes. I do other LZ songs as well, please subscribe so you'll be notified when i upload them. Thanks again!

  • Wow man you completely blow me away !!! Keep on Jazzified awesome song like that !!!

  • Perfect playing, nice guitars overthere xD

  • Outstanding.

  • very cool Bro 5*****s

  • Ha! That's so cool how these songs can transpose different styles and still "work." One of the amazing things about music. It's also neat how songs can take on a different character when transposed into different tempos. If you played that thing a little faster you could do a "be-bop" version of "No Quarter."

  • WOW!! That is awesome...

What kind of guitar is that?

and is it possible to find the tab?

  • Thanks! From my profile: "I am amazed and flattered at the amount of requests I have been getting for TABs. Unfortunately, all my arrangements are in my head and as I come from jazz, they are not even exactly the same every time I play them. So no, I don't have any TABs. The only way for me to share my arrangements is either a private lesson, seminar/class or video lesson which I am wiling to try for a fee. Please let me know if you are interested."

Don't forget to subscribe. Thanks again!

  • It's an Ibanez Artcore.. AS73? AS something.. someone that knows Ibanez better would know. Great job also man! Very cool version!

  • Amazing sound! I'm getting flashbacks! Do you do anything from more contemporary rock groups?

  • i never even liked that tune till now

  • Great! THX for sharing!
