So that means that it's sold PURELY to put money in the hands of big tobacco/alcohol--politicians get votes/$/etc. from the companies, I guess, but I always thought the US somehow benefited too. VAPORIZER: it takes any health concerns about pot and throws them out the window. I don't understand why marijuana advocates don't stress this fact enough.

marinol is not nearly as effective as marijuana. there are many other active ingredients in marijuana, including different strains that have varying amounts of these ingredients. The federal government knows it works, they still provide 4 patients with medicinal marijuana to this day, FEDERALLY. talk about hypocrisy.

They always give these damn side effects for weed (depression and other bull shit lies) but yet all of the DEA approved DRUGS (things thaT are chemically altered by humans) have side effect which are read quickly at the end of the commercials (headaches, death and blah blah blah) why not bring that up in the debate to much of anything is bad for you legalize Weed, there is no such thing as to much!!

The fact that they don't acknowledge in these stories is so many people smoke pot already that their wouldn't be a drastic increase in costs related to marijuana use. Why doesn't anyone ever bring that up? It would be hard for me to think of someone who hasn't smoked weed at some point in their life, this is one of the most ridiculous hypocrisies in the history of mankind. Its ok to take government approved drugs and drink alcohol but don't you dare smoke weed. Land of the free.

Hah, "Pot is a gateway drug." Hell no, me and everyone I know have never touched harder drugs and smoke pot all day. The only reason it could be considered a gateway drug is because it's illegal and so common. So some drug head convinces his friend to try some weed because it's so common, the friend likes it so is more influential to his other illegal drugs. Legalizing it will make weed as gatewayish as alcohol or cigarettes.

It's a GATEWAY drug because people consume it and realize that the goverment lied about marijuana and probably lie about other drugs - so they try them. Legalizing marijuana would SOLVE the gateway drug theory

Another reason is that most people have to buy pot from dealers, who want to make money and will often push heavier, and more expensive, drugs. Again, another problem that would be solved by legalization.

When your paying $150 for 9 pills one has to do something to prolong the pills. Marijuana I found is a great way to make my medication last longer for when and if I really need it. All my doctors know I am a legal user, I add mmj to my health care, and it works!!

It isn't addictive. Now coffee, that is addictive. I drink it once in a while to stay awake on long drives and I find myself craving it for days afterwards. Marijuana is harmless, I am a successful college graduate (cum laude) who never got into coke or heroine or meth. I have seen more lives ruined by people being jailed for it than from smoking it. It is just a plant.

I watched my cousin not be able to function every day on a physical level without his 2-3 cups of coffee. He would get the shakes and chills without it. That was enough to scare me away from it for the most part. I should add that I had a frappacino so I am not sure if there is a difference there. ;) I don't think I am prone to addiction...I quit smoking cold turkey and drink alcohol in moderation....hmm but I do have a snacky cake problem, so maybe you are right! :D
