I was at this show, it may be noteworthy that Kim broke her bass guitar before they played this song. She had to borrow the back up bands bass so this could have been even heavier if that were possible, she was wailing on that bass until the damn thing broke on the very last night of their FYVSS tour. But all I can say is thanks for posting this, this was one of the greatest shows I've ever been to!
a band so ahead of their time, that if you told some young punk today that this was a new band just came out, s/he'd say, wow really cool and innovative and special. they were special. really took me back 17+ years... think about how influential this band was, yet how relatively unknown they are outside of the punk circle back then... thanks so much for posting this video. (must have been fun digitizing VHS tapes lol).
"Jawbox defined everything it was to live in the 90's"........perfect......they changed my life. Showed me something about how it was possible to communicate, to let down the barriers and put yourself out there.
Ratings disabled? Anyway Jawbox were great at this time, even if they did look like a restaurant staff. Jay, Kim and Bill are all servers, then you got Zack in the kitchen cooking up some bad ass drums.
Thanks for posting! Made me homesick...I used to work at the Black Cat, and always loved seeing Jawbox back in the day....they just don't make 'em the same way anymore.
Thank you so much! Jawbox defined everything it was to live in the 90's ...
Of the many senseless things I've rambled to Page Hamilton after shows was "The best comeback show ever would be a double headline with Helmet and Jawbox and only YOU could pull that together" to which he replied "That will SO never happen man, they are all married with kids and stuff ..." but imagine a show like that! If you've seen Jawbox, you're very luck indeed
I don't know how many miles or times I drove around to see this band when they'd come through the Midwest. Still one of my favorite bands of all time.
Great video. Never got to see Jawbox but was lucky to see Burning Airlines in 2001. Check out J.Robbin's new band Channels. They're excellent! DeSoto records has their EP and Dischord has their full length.
Oh, man, what memories. I consider myself lucky that I got to see this amazing band live 4 times back in my college days. They were so creative, so tight, so musical...Cheers to Jawbox!

Why are there no bands like this anymore?
I saw them open up the HFS Festival one year at RFK and they frigging killed! Everybody who didn't know who them was just standing there in awe.
I miss you Jawbox!

Damn, sucks to think that when you're "married with kids and stuff" you're automatically written off. DOH! Say it ain't so!!! :)
