'Heat' is masterpiece of the 90's - interesting storyline, fantastic acting. Al Pacino is awesome but Robert De Niro made this film - phenomenal acting. Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Diane Venora, Ted Levine were great too plus after this movie I became a huge fan of Ashley Judd and Amy Brenneman!
Heat is in my top 10 most favorite Heist films along with The Real McCoy, Heartbreakers, The Thomas Crown Affair, Entrapment, Confidence, Scorched, The Italian Job, Ronin.
McNab was a weapons advisor and trainer on the hit Michael Mann film Heat (1995) and spent five months in Hollywood working closely with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Val Kilmer. As well as advising on weapons handling and use, McNab was drafted in to work out in detail how master-thief De Niro would go about pulling off robberies on an armoured car and a bank, and how cop Al Pacino would go about tracking him down and stopping him.

It's a good film but I'd be lying if I said it was a masterpiece.
Some of the dialogue feels out of place: "You cannot watch my fucking television set" or most of Diane Venora's speeches. Didn't seem like things people would actually say.
Other than that the acting, the themes, and the action is terriffic.
See it for the amazing coffee house scene with Al and Robert or the street shootout.
the only center of attention in the movie is teh bank robery scene pachino continuesly yeled in this movie like every movie of his without the bank robery scene heat is nothing watch the orignal heat LA TAKEDOWN THE UNKNOWN ACTORS BRILIANTLY WORK IN THAT LOW BUDGET BUT briliant movie cinematographically l.a. take down was excelent in every way
This movie by great director Michael Mann is one of the best movies i've ever seen so far. It's definitely the best crime drama or thriller or whatever you wanna call it that i've ever seen. There is not one scene which is unrealistic. There is not one minute that is irrelavant. It's exciting from minute one till the credits appear. Great acting. Awesome camera. Stunning sound effects. And that gigantic shootout at downtown LA is still unrivaled. Can't count anymore how many times i've seen it.
Right at 1:12, when they flash each other their trademark glares, that is Heat's ultimate defining moment. Thank goodness these 2 giants didn't do a film together before this; I don't think this scene would have been quite as magical and effective
Technically they did do a movie before Heat. Godfather part 2. Most people wouldn't think it counts because they are never in a scene together in that movie.
That's why people were so excited about Heat, it was bringing Pacino and De Niro back together after Godfather part 2 so many years ago.
Should have been the official trailer. Great work . Best scene ever shot , the coffee house scene . Your trailer better captured the mood of the film .
This is seriously way better than the official trailer. You call it rough? You just hit the spot, it doesn't need anything more, no extra editting etc. It's really great, don't listen to people saying "oh no, you ended with Deniro looking down" - if it was perfectly timed it wouldn't be that good (I mean it), this clip doesn't need it. Congratulations
It may not have done as well at the US box office as some people may have expected - relatively speaking - but thanks to all these youtube posts, the popularity and legend of this masterpiece is growing by the day
A bit short (esp. given trailers nowadays) and I wish you hadn`t ended with DeNiro looking down as it makes him look the weaker of the two. But this is the best Heat fan trailer on youtube. I keep coming back to it. Maybe I just wish it were longer. Nice work.
Thank you for watching. The reason I wanted the trailer to end there was because Pacino just verbally shuts him down on that last line. Even though these are two titanic screen presences, I felt that Pacino just one-upped him slightly in that scene. It's a film you can just watch over and over.
Just an immensely awesome trailer...if audiences had been treated to this - not at first knowing to whom De Niro was speaking, and then seeing that it's Pacino - they would have gone crazy. And then to see those absolutely timeless and priceless looks they give each other at 1:13 - 1:14, well, that just puts it way over the top. Really well done, thanks for the post!
It's always great to see folks post comments on here that shows how much they understand this movie. A lot of people just look at Heat as a crime thriller, but it's so much more than that. The spectacle of seeing Deniro and Pacino face off like that is a cinematic treat. That's what makes Heat a classic.
This next point is not to take anything away from how awesome your trailer is; but I don't quite feel that Pacino shut him down entirely. As you very well know in the following frame, the way in which De Niro glares at Pacino as he issues his razor-sharp retort, with his head tilted way down in such a classic manner, I kind of feel like, right at that moment, he harkened back to previous stone-cold, bad guy roles, like Al Capone in The Untouchables. Would you agree at all?
Yeah, when he says "I will not hesitate, not for one second" is just badass, because you know that he means it. This movie was the last time Deniro made any legitimate contributions to cinema, which is a sad thing to say since it came out 14 years ago.
I agree ... I sincerely hope this masterpiece is re-released years from now to a whole new audience, and that you can somehow persuade the studios to use your trailer...I simply cant't compliment you enough on such a job well done; I'll watch this until the end of time
IMHO This should of been the official trailer. You really get across the heart and soul of the film. So many people who I talk to about the film don't think there is any, but boy are they wrong.
DeNiro & Pacino will reunite in ( RIGHTEOUS KILL )due out in December; This should be good. I'd like to see DeNiro & Harrison Ford square off in a good Gangster & Cop movie . Ultra bad guy classic DeNiro-gangster vs Great good guy classic Ford-hero cop, man that would be BAD ASS !!!!!! Cinema History.
Deniro and Harrison Ford would be a good matchup, but imagine if you switched the roles- Deniro is the good guy and Ford as a villain. Play against type!
I see what you mean, but remember (H.F.)in WHAT LIES BENEITH ? it bombed big time. no one was ready to see FORD play the bad guy. Now BOBBY can play anything! He's played a priest & the devil. Not that your idea is bad by all means,Just imagine those two ICONS Squaring off. That would be like EDDIE VAN HALEN VS RANDY RHODES. THE HULK VS THE THING ....
The absolutely CLASSIC looks they give each other at 1:12 sums at all up: Heat is the greatest confrontation in cinematic history. The more time passes, the more legendary this magnificent masterpiece becomes.
Thanks a lot man...I feel that the scene between Deniro and Pacino is the real heart and soul of the movie. Two guys that are the best at what they do going up against each other, it's just a classic conflict.
Michael Mann is out of this space! He is a real professional and he is looking to professional's world in every film.He like shootouts, close plan camera usage, big cities and night vision.Pacino,De Niro and Kilmer no need to comments, they are totaly great. This film is my best crime saga ever!
great Acfors...great Movie...great Script...great Director.. thats the second Edition, the first Movie was shoot in the 80's,with unknown actors...but the second with Al, Bobby and Val is better,of course....and see "THE INSIDER",by Michael Mann..also a good Movie...Crowe has to deserve a Academy Award for his Performens as "Wigand"
excellent movie!!!!freue mich schon auf "Righteous Kill". dieser film ist wiederum mit den grandiosen schauspielen al pacino u. robert der niro. weiß vielleicht jemand, wann der deutschlandstart von "righteous kill" ist??
It is amazing... really, you've made a great job, great sensitive and those unforgatable characteristics deNiro and Al Paciono playied. Thank you a lot
wat is that theme song.. starting at 39 seconds.. doodd wat is this songg.. i need this song on my ipod.. its amazing!! plz if anyone nos it.. plz tell me it!
I love this trailer...the film more so, but i cant help but admire the simlicity of showing possibly 2 of the greatest actors share one of the greatest scenes in cinema. Does anyone know the music used in this trailer?
A Heat 2 would be cool, but with totally different characters, different location too. Heat had a very cool enviorment, set in LA the way it was. Perhaps a film set in a city like detroit, or "everywhere" like the Bourne films. Just a thought. I certaintly wouldn't bring back any of the old characters, such as Pacino, who was great but wouldn't fit well in a new Heat movie. Anywho, Michael Mann is an amazing director
Does anyone know the song on Heat, when Neil chases his girlfriend up the hill after she finds he was envoled in the bank robbery?. It's an amazing tune and I don't know whether it's on the soundtrack or not.
you know theres a sequel in the works dont you guys? also a video game for 360/ps3 is being planned...go to imdbdotcom and search for robert deniro...heres whats it says: 5. Heat (2007) (VG) (pre-production) (in negotiations) ...Neil McCauley
i hope this movie (if its released) can be even half as good as the original
yeah definitely...i really cant imagine a sequel myself. i mean considering deniro's age now a prequel wouldnt work because of his pyhsical appearence and a sequel is impossible considering deniro dies in the end. its still in the works, tho i cant picture it working out right.
So true! It was released late in the season, and by that time the academy already had a long list of good movies. They should have released it a bit later.
Gotta see that movie. I like it how the whole thing was that one conversation between DeNiro and Pacino (how cool is it, them talking to each other?) with other clips over the top. It's kinda like a real trailer.
good work... Now i realise that the Hanna's lines ("walk out on this woman without saying good bye") are the key of the movie. It shows exactly what it's gonna be next but when i watched it the first time, i didn't pay enough attention and kept on thinkin that everything could happen(and not only the 2 possibilities mentionned by the guys : they gonna see each other one more time or never)
I have no fear in saying that Heat IS the single greatest movie ever made. Every frame is pure art. Some of the acting you'll ever see your life time; and to think some many haven't seen this flim yet...
Id agree in some respects, Vice was dissapointing yet some scenes I still loved. Heat and Collateral are both simply awsome films that are shot in distinctive Mann style.
I would give this movie a billion of Oscars!!!!Hands down to 2 of the greatest actors America had and still has:Pacino&De Niro!!!

I have no fear in saying that Heat IS the single greatest movie ever made. Every frame is pure art. Some of the acting you'll ever see your life time; and to think some many haven't seen this flim yet...

Thanks. Michael Mann is pretty great, too bad Miami Vice was a dissappointment though.

Miami Vice wasn't the best Mann film, but it was still the best crime drama I saw all summer!

Id agree in some respects, Vice was dissapointing yet some scenes I still loved. Heat and Collateral are both simply awsome films that are shot in distinctive Mann style.
