wtf only one officer on duty? he was chasing him for like 10 minutes and no other units caught up with him? btw the suspect was crazy he was crossing stop signs and red lights with very high speeds and because he is suicidal doesnt mean the cop has to risk it to keep behind him.

Too bad they didnt get that car stealin thug , you can tel he came from cleveland the way he drove in that area. He probably came to lakewood to break into some houses , thank s to the officer who gave chase he probably didnt want the guy to hit anyone so he backed off thats the right thing to do , thats why the thug got away, and yes the music was gay at first but at the end when it was only the instrumentals it sounded pretty good. People (and I use that term loosely) some departments have policies that PITs will never be used. They consider ramming cars to be deadly force, only acceptable when you can shoot someone. And before you got off how that policy is lame, some departments have NO CHASE policies, and others limit cahses to only KNOWN serious felonies.

Do try to educate yourselves before spewing nonsense.

I do not know the Lakewood Police pursuit rules, but a good time to end the chase was when the suspect slid his car sideways exiting the Jennings Freeway. The officer could have pushed the suspects car to disable it. But were there other patrol cars in the area to assist with the arrest?

this lumina was powered by the 3.1 liter... the 3.8 wasn't available until 1998.The suspension on a base model is quite squishy as well. I think what people are forgetting is that an officer must operate his vehicle with some level of caution. If he blows a a redlight and kills someone on thier way to work, he is in trouble. Not worth it for a 10 year old lumina and a DWI collar. That being said, the 4.6 Vic isn't a rocket, but he should have been able to PIT the lumina and end the pursiut.

Some chevy luminas Police Package came with the very powerful 3.8L V6. I Know for a fact , my brother own one that he purchaced from the federal government. Damn the car is very fast after a major tune-up.

I can't understand why they couldn't keep up with him. I have to imagine the police cruisers are a lot faster than a v6 Chevy, especially on the highway. Pretty ridiculous. At least the driver lost his car in the ordeal

If he is in sight, he is doing just fine. It is taught not to tail the fleer very close incase of a collision in which if you were close you would damage your vehicle and/or yourself.

Great video crimewood but I must point out that driver looked to me like he had some EVOC training. Just a thought...and by the way maybe next time please leave the music out I'd like to hear the primary unit calling it.
